"Good grief..." Haris wrings his bruised knuckles. "Agree, I'll fetch beef-cakes up here." With that, Haris slides down the rope and tell Nuar he's need topside. Haris offers helping the man-cow to his feet.

"Thank you, good sir." Nuar says, still a little groggy from his experience.
At Peri's comment he looks at the misty area above with little interest in climbing up. He is very small for a minotaur, and not nearly as muscled as you might hope, plus he's fatigued from being dragged here and left without food or water for the last couple days.
Getting him down is up to the PCs.

While the others busied themselves removing the elf from the astrolabe or freeing the minotaur, Rowanna takes the opportunity to look around the room.

Haris helps Nuar to his feet, and himself to one of the minotaur's rings.

While the others work on freeing the elf, Rowanna takes some time to look around the strange chamber. On one of the chamber’s many workbenches she finds a ledger resting in plain sight.

Rowanna pulls flint and steel from her backpack, and promptly works to set the ledger on fire, watching the pages burn to ash.
”Just taking care of a little business. Nothing to worry about.” She assures the others with a enigmatic smile.

Kilian will try to hold the chains in a way that makes it easier for Leonel to sunder them.

Not sure how many of these there need to be yet.

DM Rah |

Using brute force, with a couple aid another checks from Kilian and Yanos, Leonel can break one chain a round with a lucky roll (DC is 26 to break). However, Leonel is still enlarged for another 8 rounds, and using power attack his damage averages about 18-20 points each attack, so he can probably sever 1-2 a round with cleave. Just waiting on his confirmation about how he'd like to handle this.

Alie helps Harris in his grisly duty, pointing him toward a particularly nasty looking insectoid monster.

DM Rah |

Haris and Alie discuss gathering a trophy to bring back with them.
Haris and Alie - Recovering a head from one of the morlocks is not hard, but will have to be done on the way out, as none of the fights with them took place close to this chamber. However, I will assume you collect one on the way back out. 2/2 Faction Missions Completed.
Rowanna burns a book.
1/2 Faction Missions Completed.
It takes Leonel a little more time that he'd like, but a couple minutes later the last chain holding up the elf shatters. Yanos and Kilian, having secured a rope to him previously, begin lowering him to safety, but something strange happens. The elf's eyes open and what can only be described as a death rattle escapes his mouth. As he comes to rest on the floor below, his already dessicated body begins shriveling in upon itself. By the time anyone can get to him, he has collapsed into dust and bones. Apparently, being connected to the machine supported his life beyond a normal lifespan.
There was nothing that anyone in the party could be done to save him. Also, Kilian, it was assumed Abysiel was long dead and your instructions were to bring back his body or remains if you found them.
The mists in the room finally clear, and there is time to look around the chamber...
There is enough evidence to indicate that the elf was indeed once Abysiel Greensummer, from Kyonin, though little information can be found about the device above, other than the fact that Izryen’s Hourglass rests within the machine, somehow tied to the magic coursing through it. With Abysiel's death, most of that magic has no gone dormant, and removing the Hourglass from the grand device can be done with 30 minutes worth of work.
The chamber contains many of Abysiel's ancient tools and earlier experiments in manipulating time. Among the salvageable items are an alchemist’s lab, masterwork artisan’s tools, a wand of magic missile (CL 3rd, 50 charges), a wand of daze (50 charges), a set of goggles of minute seeing, and a potion of haste. Scattered throughout the room are a thousands of coins, seemingly brought here by the morlocks as offerings.
Any last actions before we wrap this up?

Ooooo, a 3rd level Magic Missle wand! Sweeeeeeeet! I think Alie is all done here in this one, DM.

"I've been tasked with returning his body to Kyonin's embassy in Absalom." Kilian will wrap up the corpse as best he can for the trip back to the surface, and will also try to collect enough personal effects from the chamber with the beetles to identify the dead.

DM Rah |

Returning through the Tangle and finding your way to the surface is made easier by your previous exploration, plus the uncanny sense of direction provided by the Minotaur Prince.
On the way, Nuar notices Kilian gathering up personal effects from the pile of dead near the entrance and wonders what he's doing. However, even though the Prince is a slave to fashion, he's not familiar with the common clothing found among the bodies.
Nuar - Knowledge Local: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12 Tried to give you a free check, but the dice roller sucks. Sorry. To get another shot (with a +7 bonus) you'll have to pay 15gp to someone to go through the bloody rags.
Kilian bears the remains of the elf, along with a large bundle of rags, intending to return one and identify the source of the other after reporting back to the Lodge.

Haris and Alie also gather a memento, a monstrous head from one of the morlocks.
2/2 Faction Missions Complete
Eventually you return to Absalom and report back to Venture-Captain Drandle Dreng. He congratulates you on your chronicle-worthy deeds and accepts Izryen’s Hourglass on behalf of Grandmaster Torch, who not present. It crosses your minds that he is perhaps distancing himself from any appearance of having sent poor Nuar into danger in the first place, and you realize that keeping your council on the matter will likely gain favor from both Torch and Nuar in the future.

DM Rah |

Peri, unfortunately no. There was only so many chances to make the attempt before too many eggs were ruined.
Also, while Nuar is good at navigating, I don't think he would have actual skill in geography, otherwise I'd allow him to help with mapping. I gave Kilian a Knowledge - Local chance with him because it does say that Nuar is interested in wearing the latest fashions of Absalom and tries to act like a diplomat.
