About Peri Tilki

Peri Tilki is the charismatic youngest child of a Kelish Kitsune Merchant, and his Desnan Priestess wife. Her birth was hailed as the coming of the moon child among the local Shoanti tribes where she and her family resided. She was pampered by both her true family and her adopted tribe, she is beautiful but sheltered. Unless otherwise stated she maintains her human appearance and her Greensting Scorpion familiar stays in tattoo form.

My History:
I have no idea when my ancestors first arrived in Kelish proper via Kaladay but needless to say it was long long ago. If I am to believe the stories my father told me it took no time at all for my ancestors to get into the good graces of the ruler of the great Padishah Empire of Kelesh. In fact my Grandfather worked directly for Padishah Emperor Kalish XXII, he worked diligently in finding suitable consorts and other "ladies" that tickled the Emperor’s fancy. My father followed in his footsteps, and was dispatched to Qadira to negotiate the minutia and small intricacies of what was apparently a multitude of deals with Trade Prince Aaqir al'Hakam prior to his departure to Absalom.

My father is an incredibly interesting man; he prefers to maintain his human form. He's always telling me that morphing into our vulpine form is a trade tactic best left for deals turned sour. He is a shrewd negotiator and has a reputation of getting deals done, and an even better reputation of harshly punishing those who he feels have wronged him or reneged on their deals. He left such an marvelous impression while meeting with Prince Aaqir al’Hakam, that when the negotiations were finally completed my father was offered the opportunity of a lifetime. The Trade Prince offered my father the opportunity to represent him exclusively in all future negotiations with the Lyrune-Quah Shoanti, a large cut in all negotiations with the other six tribes of Varisia, and to a lesser extent a small cut of all business ventures in or concerning Kaer Maga. My father tells me he initially declined the offer, but was eventually made a counter offer he couldn’t refuse. It was not long after that my mother and father relocated to far away Varisia leaving my brothers behind to broker their own deals, and tend to the local family business. My father taught me Kelsih, so I could one day become a successful Negotiator as well.

My mother like her mother before her is a Priestess of the Goddess of the North Star, or Desna as she is called throughout most of Avistan. Unlike my brothers I feel privileged to have inherited her fair fur color, she claims we are touched by the first world. My mother is beautiful and chooses to remain in her vulpine form whenever possible. She has three tails, and was much to my father’s macho chagrin, a huge help when dealing with the Lyrune-Quah prior to my birth. The Lyrune-Quah still see her as an emissary of sorts, and needless to say she has smoothed trade relations with them and my father on many occasions when it seemed no resolution would ever be possible. It was she who insisted I learned Senzar, her native tongue.

When I was born the Lyrune-Quah tribe rejoiced, apparently my birth under the full moon fulfilled one of their ancient totemic prophesies. It had something to do with being a shape shifter with white fur being born under the full moon. The chieften told my father that if the tribe was allowed to assist in raising me from birth, that all fair trade deals proposed would be accepted. My father who is no fool wholeheartedly accepted this arrangement. I wonder how he felt when I was given my first tattoos? As the prophecies predicted I the moon child would have an inborn magical gift, which I do in fact possess. I was trained in the arts of Varisian Tattoo magic, Shoanti customs, practices, and their language. My tattoo is Carnasia, which roughly translates as daze in the trade language of Taldane. Around the time I turned twenty, the Trade Prince requested that my father find three Shoanti tribesmen to send away to Absalom to become Pathfinders and to further Qadira’s agenda in the Inner Sea region. My father having grown a bit worried about my possible complete indoctrination into the tribe, saw a perfect opportunity to send me away and gain more favor with his employer. At heart I will be a member of the Lyrune-Quah until I draw my last breath and I thank them for everything they have taught me. However my father knows that my loyalty lies with him and our obligations to the Trade Prince until the day of the same, so off he sent me and two male Shoanti volunteers to be indoctrinated at the Grand Lodge of Absalom.

Recently Lady Amara Li begged me to join her on a trip to Goka, and offered a membership into the Lantern Lodge. I begrudgingly accepted, if only to have the opportunity to visit my ancestors homeland, and meet some non related Kitsune. Before departing I had the "pleasure" of attending the Blakros, Kastner marriage and prevented her friend Jeong from making a fool of himself and utilized my negotiating skills for her and the Good of a continent I have never been to. Shortly after the wedding I departed with Lady Amara Li to Goka. While I did have fun representing her and the Lantern Lodge in a far away land, I felt I was unappreciated and expendable. Lucky for me, I was able to negotiate my way back into the Trade Prince's good graces after I was risen from the dead. I am just happy I can continue my work for Qadira, without losing anymore prestige.
