Yanos |
5ft stepping up so that I threaten all those surrounding me, and maintaining my larger size for one more round, Yanos again unleashes a flurry or thrusts, jabs, and slice with Witch-Hammer, focusing on the leader.
Longspear: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Damage: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (4, 2) + 5 = 11
Because I'm large and using a Reach weapon, I threaten both 10ft and 15ft away from me. That should mean that they can not 5ft step to escape the AoO for firing a bow while threatened.

Shel keeps firing at the same opponent, as she grows woozy from the damage she has taken. Wondering where her Mage friend's magic missles were, she calls out, "Peri, are you still back there? We could use some help!"

"Yes darling I am still with you, I have been rather consumed with bleeding out though."
With that Peri ejects her trust Wand of Magic Missle and let's fly at the archer that has been pestering her so.

Haris, higher ground only applies to melee attacks. Also, keep in mind thrown daggers have a range of 10', so you are getting penalties for distance unless you stay pretty close.
Haris guides his stolen horse a short distance away and flings a dagger, but it misses the horseman. Ing and Barlor charge in, Ing arriving first and goring the man. He cries out and goes limp.
Peri fires a magic missile and wounds another horseman.
László and Shel loose more arrows, but neither hits a target.
"Argh!" Calgredine winces as Yanos' spear draws blood. With a snarl, he thrusts with his lance and plants it solidly into Yanos' side and the cleric falls. (14 damage)
Pulling his lance free, Calgredine urges his horse forward. "Was that your best!?"
The horseman near Calgredine rides closer and fires an arrow at Shel, but it lodges in the tree between them. From the other side camp, another horseman attempts a shot at Haris, but also misses.

DM Rah |
Haris throws a well aimed dagger, dropping another horseman. Ing runs up and gores the body. László and Shel fire more arrows, but miss.
Peri's magic animates the undergrowth with another entangle spell. Calgredine quickly turns his mount and retreats from the area, but the soldier at his side is not so lucky. Still, he manages to pull free and ride out, but that takes him some time.
Across the camp the other horseman also manages to escape and ride out of the other entangled area near Barlor.
Calgredine dismounts from his horse next to Yanos' body.

Peri and Barlor's spells animate a large swath of the jungle. Calgredine tries to fight off the vines and plants, but they latch firmly to him and his horse. Unable to get his shield up quickly, Shel's arrow pierces his arm. The horseman near him initially gets caught, but pulls free and rides out from the area.
The other remaining horseman rides through camp and fires an arrow into Haris' leg. 8 Damage
Calgredine ignores the arrow in his arm, rips free from the entanglement, and places the point of his lance against Yanos' chest. "Put up your bows and wands Pathfinders!" He shouts. "I see anyone even point a finger my direction and I'll finish off your companion here!"

Agghhh I did not even notice barlors entangle post, I must have been typing mine at the same time, I now understand all of the questions about my action. Had i realized that I would begun casting sleep. Oh well too late now

weakness
Go ahead and kill him, he means nothing to me. I only care about my own skin. The questions you must ask yourself are... Is his life more valuable than yours? Because as soon as you slay him you are as good as dead. I am inclined to believe you hold your life in higher esteem than his. Do you really believe that you and your lone horseman can defeat the five of us? You will be tripped up in the vines while we turn you inside out.
Anyone care to assist on an intimidate.

DM Rah |
Horseman 4 is off the map to the right, riding around the entanglement.
Calgredine looks a little unnerved, but does not give in. "If either of those were true, you wouldn't have stopped your attacks. Your friend here isn't bleeding out, so I'll make you a deal. Let us withdraw, with your man as insurance, and I will give you the chance to win him back!"
"You see, we have divined the location of your excavation site, and I have a wizard busy spelling up bridges for my army. You still might beat us there if you make haste, and if you do I will return your companion alive and in one piece!"
"Continue this fight, he will die. Then I will order my men to shoot your horses and we'll see who wins the race then!"
DM Rah |
(MY NOTE: As I read this, even if he fails the save he can still stab Yanos. He just can't move from the spot.)
DM Rah |
He's intimidated, but that doesn't mean he's going to bow to your whims. We'll say a round has passed, so I'll make him save again.
The jungle wraps its tendrils around him, but Calgredine still has his lance to Yanos' chest. All he has to do is lean on it. "Surely you can see we are at an impasse! I cannot let him go and expect to live! I offer a compromise - you may keep the key! But my men and I withdraw with your companion here."
