Iona Pentaghast |

Fort: 1d20 + 9 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 9 + 4 = 30
"I do nothing but get tossed into that machine." Iona said honestly as she moved to Milamber who had gotten thrown back
"Are you alright?" She asked him.

Milamber of the Inner Sea |

I'm alright, just a little shook up. It wasn't as bad as I thought, but I didn't have to face that guardian. I imagine that wasn't an easy fight. Glad you were with us Nilus, I imagine the Queen was appreciative as well. Sorry there wasn't much time to say goodbye.
So, where do we go to find this Nocticula? Anyone got any ideas?"

Aladir Cyruthion |

Fort Save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
The suddenness of the rift's shrieking takes Aladir by surprise and he barely manages to get his hands over his ears, though that does very little to alay the horrendous noise.
When it finally stops, he looks around at the others. "The task is done, at least. That's the important thing. The rift is sealed. Let's hope that closing it shut that infernal machine down, too."
Aladir reaches out to Arueshalae through their link to make sure it is still intact.

GM Spazmodeus |

Sorry guys, last week I had to wrap up a project I was working on and then the weekend happened....should be back to regular posting...
An afterimage of the Rift-that-was still occupies your sight as you gaze upon the bare wall where it once was. The fact that you were truly on your own in the Abyss pressed down upon you, the oppressiveness of the place making you realize that it was you who did not belong.
Arueshalae's 'voice' still comes into your mind, but as if from great distance, echo-y and sibilant, "Ah, I can tell...you've crossed over. Now the true test of you and your friend begins...though you are powerful, you are in Noticula's domain...the stuff of Chaos wrought by her will. Ask of me anything, and I will do my best to assist..."
Milamber, look to the campaign tab where I've listed your objectives...you know where Noticula is, just not necessarily how to get there :)
All, if you have questions for Arueshalae , I'll answer directly to save a bit of time, so Aladir doesn't have to always be the middle man...

Milamber of the Inner Sea |

"I guess we have to explore these caves. There is an opening to the northeast. It seems that is where we get started."
Milamber will start heading in that direction. Looking back at the rest of the party, he adds "C'mon, let's go."

Hyram Grimstalk |

@GM: No worries! Plus you had a big decision to make with your AOW recruitment!;)
Hyram says a prayer to The Inheritor. Do we know if our spells and magical imbued items still work the same in the foul place? Hyram asks.

GM Spazmodeus |

Hyram , from previous post : Mechanically, this means that if you are lawful you get -2 to Int, Wis and Char based checks; same if you are good...and they stack, so Lawful Good gets -4 to those checks. Spells with lawful, light or good descriptors are impeded: caster must make a DC 20 + spell level to successfully cast the spell. So you know just from the discomfort you feel in this place that , yes, some spells will be affected. Magical items are unaffected.

Iona Pentaghast |

"That does sound like a fair idea Aladir, but please do be careful... this place isn't meant for souls like us..." Iona said as she moved closer to Nilus. "For the moment I cannot help the strength that has been taken from you, but I can offer to be your strength till I can return it. Lean upon me when you need it." She offered with a small smile.
"Our abilities should work, we draw power from gods my friend." Iona told Hyram with a small smile. "Trust in the goddess, and trust in each other, and this place will not overcome us."

Aladir Cyruthion |

With a nod, Aladir wills himself into invisibility, fading from the sight of the others. He then moves in the direction of the caves to the northeast that were pointed out by Milamber, keeping his eyes and ears as open and piqued as he can.
Perception: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (11) + 22 = 33+6 if, for some reason, there is a trap around.

GM Spazmodeus |

1d20 + 16 ⇒ (11) + 16 = 27
1d20 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 24
Since Aladir proceeded first, I'll assume Milamber waited a bit before going forth...
The walls and ceiling of this vast, domed cavern are festooned
with tangles of purple crystals. Eight web-filled alcoves line the
walls of the cavern at various heights, while a mound of crystals
towers twenty feet high in the center of the chamber.
You notice two huge shapes within two of the alcoves....they are as big as elephants!
The one in the nearest alcove bursts out ....it is an elephant sized spider creature out of the most horrible spidery nightmares! It pauses outside it's lair, lifting it's 'head' as if testing the air....you think it may have smelled you. It's movement seems to have alerted the other, you can see it stirring in it's alcove across the cavern.
If you stay, I will roll up initiative, if not you can retreat...

Aladir Cyruthion |

Do I need to roll a stealth to get back to the others?

Nilus Romani |

Nilus waits with Rose's Stem in his hands.

Aladir Cyruthion |

Aladir hurries back to the others, letting his invisibility fall away as he nears the group. "Only two enemies that I saw, but those are going to be bad enough, I think...a pair of spiders the size of bull elephants." he reports.

Iona Pentaghast |

"I am sure all can agree with that." Iona said with a small smile.
"Let us face these spiders the size of elephants." She said before Iona moved to take point in the line. "Milamber, when you're ready."

Milamber of the Inner Sea |

"Ok, let's see about getting rid of some spiders." Since everyone is within 30 feet of each other, Milamber will cast Haste including everyone in the party.
Haste: The transmuted creatures move and act more quickly than normal. This extra speed has several effects.
When making a full attack action, a hasted creature may make one extra attack with one natural or manufactured weapon. The attack is made using the creature's full base attack bonus, plus any modifiers appropriate to the situation. (This effect is not cumulative with similar effects, such as that provided by a speed weapon, nor does it actually grant an extra action, so you can't use it to cast a second spell or otherwise take an extra action in the round.)
A hasted creature gains a +1 bonus on attack rolls and a +1 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves. Any condition that makes you lose your Dexterity bonus to Armor Class (if any) also makes you lose dodge bonuses.
All of the hasted creature's modes of movement (including land movement, burrow, climb, fly, and swim) increase by 30 feet, to a maximum of twice the subject's normal speed using that form of movement. This increase counts as an enhancement bonus, and it affects the creature's jumping distance as normal for increased speed. Multiple haste effects don't stack. Haste dispels and counters slow.

Nilus Romani |

Nilus smiles wanly. Sneaking has never been my forte

Aladir Cyruthion |

"By all means, then, let's get this party started!" Aladir says with a grin.
"Be ready; I'm about to make 'em mad." he further states before he vanishes from sight again, using his prowess at stealth to sneak up to within thirty feet of the spider nearest him.
Stealth: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (19) + 21 = 40
Quieter than a mouse, the elf slinks into range, draws a slow, deep breath to steady his aim, draws on his mythic power to increase the power of the invisibility effect on him, and fires!
Move to within sneak attack range of the nearest spider, then use a one mythic power to have the invisibility effect act as Improved Invisibility for one turn, then fire an arrow and skedaddle!
Longbow Attack+Haste: 1d20 + 22 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 22 + 1 = 38+4 if M.Heroism is active
Longbow Damage: 1d8 + 16 ⇒ (6) + 16 = 22

Iona Pentaghast |

Iona nodded to Alador. "Once I see their wounds from you I'll charge in." She promised before he set off.
I know you can't ready a charge so I hope she'll get a good Init! XD

GM Spazmodeus |

Not so fast, Aladir.... ;D
Aladir, quiet as an invisible mouse can be , slinks back to the entrance of the next chamber where he'd seen the large spider creature, fully intending to put a righteous arrow in it's eye...but he does not see any!
Still invisible, he pauses....looking around....
Give me a perception check , Aladir!
1d20 + 16 ⇒ (17) + 16 = 33
1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25
1d20 + 16 ⇒ (15) + 16 = 31
1d20 + 16 ⇒ (5) + 16 = 21

Aladir Cyruthion |

Perception: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (10) + 22 = 32+4 if Mythic Heroism is active
And just for good measure, I'm gonna toss a mythic surge on top of that.
Mythic Surge: 32 + 1d8 ⇒ 32 + (1) = 33+4 if Heroism is active

GM Spazmodeus |

Sorry, guys ....still losing posts.....but i should have checked earlier...
A scream of pain and outrage rings through the caverns as Aladir obviously spies one of the creatures and find's his mark!

Milamber of the Inner Sea |

Perception: 1d20 + 15 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 15 + 4 = 20
Pretty sure Milamber has no idea where the creatures are.
"I can't see them Aladir! Where are they?"
If Aladir points to a spot where Milamber can see, he will cast Glitterdust. I will center the 10 foot radius on the spot where Aladir points. If Milamber has to move to see the spot, he will instead cast See Invisibility on himself.

Nilus Romani |

Nilus uses his otherworldly sense to detect evil and see if he can "see" where the creatures are located.

Aladir Cyruthion |

Firing another arrow at the creature, Aladir calls a range and direction to Milamber, hoping his arrows sinking into invisible flesh also help with giving his ally a target.
"Don't let your guard down, the other's likely still around!" he calls aloud, focusing his attention on peppering the one he CAN see with as many arrows as possible, no longer concerned with maintaining his invisibility. Running to the side a few paces, Aladir tries to keep a space of ten feet or so between himself and his allies; close enough to be aided or aid as needed, but not so close as to make more than one of them an easy target.
Using Fleet Warrior to move ten feet, thereby activating the Scout's Skirmisher ability to get sneak attack damage on the first shot and still get a full attack off. Also using Mythic Rapid Shot to get an extra arrow at no penalty.
Hasted Longbow Attack+Haste: 1d20 + 22 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 22 + 1 = 35
Hasted Longbow Damage: 1d8 + 16 + 6d6 ⇒ (6) + 16 + (5, 2, 1, 3, 3, 3) = 39
Longbow Attack 1+Haste: 1d20 + 22 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 22 + 1 = 26
Longbow Damage 1: 1d8 + 16 ⇒ (5) + 16 = 21

Longbow Damage 3: 1d8 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19

GM Spazmodeus |

Following the flight of Aladir's arrows and the subsequent squeals of pain from the creature, Milamber can guage the creatures approximate location up in the shadows among the crystals that line the cavern's celing.
With the alacrity of an archmage he creates a cloud of glittering magic around that area...revealing a huge , spidery form thrashing about up on the ceiling!
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Nilus, you'd have to concentrate for 3 rounds to get that information from Detect Evil

Not sure what the actual readied action is? Movement to move in between the creature and Milamber? Also, Nilus will use Draw Fire liberally if the creature respond with ranged attacks

Iona Pentaghast |

I can't get to my computer tonight can someone move Iona up next to Milamber's left? If not I'll move her tomorrow I just don't want to delay combat.

Iona Pentaghast |

Ah, in my haste to keep us moving I didn't see that and have cost us a delay. My apologies.
"There is another creature there!" Iona called out as she pointed with Radiance to the other side of the cluster.
To do her best to ensure to protect the others, Iona moved forward to hold the other creature's attention while the group dealt with this one.
Double move to where she is now on the map.

Milamber of the Inner Sea |

Milamber will take a step back, the sight of the huge spider was a little disconcerting to him. "Whoa, that is one big spider."
Milamber will shoot fire at the massive creature.
Milamber will cast Scorching Ray at the thing. 3 rays targeting the creature's touch AC.

Landing directly beside the archer, the demon spider seems to know Aladir is there, but the glitterdust confuses it enough that it's bite and one of it's claws narrowly miss connection. One vicious claw however, does slam into Aladir 15 damage
Further into the cavern, the other spider demon takes up Iona's challenge! A slavering bite attempt is pushed aside by Iona's shield, but with lightning speed , it's two claws strike home with vicious efficency. 43 damage
