Mukluk elbows Mobled in the arm.

"Yeah see that? One dead wolf. Heh!"

Mukluk absentmindedly takes the wand from Mobled as he 5' steps back to J3 trying to protect Mobled. "Uh thanks. Now stand behind me woman, we men have fighting to do," Mukluk says protectively.

Mukluk concentrates and puts an acid cloud in squares in DC/3:4.

Acid Cloud (Su): Stnd action: create a 5-foot-radius cloud of acid vapor within 30 feet that lasts for 1 round. Deals 1d6 points of acid damage + 1 point for every two wizard levels you possess to all creatures in the cloud and sickens them for 1 round. A successful Fortitude save negates the sickened effect and halves the damage. DC= (10+1/2 level+Int mod)=14.


Don't forget - Mobled gets 2 rounds of actions before the bad guys go again.

Doruk trusts Petrel to finish off the archer and keep the Ogre pinned down for a moment. He moves to I3 and readies to strike any orcs that advance into his threatened area.

It sure is nice when my allies aren't in the way.

If it doesn't hit, it lands 1d8 ⇒ 1 right in front of the orc and still gets all three of them with splash damage at least.

Tiabrar then takes up Doruk on his offer, kind of, as he gets behind everyone at J-8.

@Petrel: You need to make a DC17 Reflex save (with a +2 bonus) to reach that orc. Any square even next to Mukluk's pit can cause you to fall into it.

Petrel's bomb explodes on the advancing orcs as one of their rank catches on fire. To punctuate the ill-advised formation approaching, Mukluk punctuates this with a signature acid cloud. The orcs look much less enthused to be charging at your group, and seem to slow their advance considerably.

Pelor's blessing bathes everyone in brilliant holy light, while Petrel and Doruk take up better tactical positions.

OK, I'm going to say Mobled uses her round 2 action to move to H,5 putting herself between the oncoming orcs and her cousin, and readies for an approach.

Ulfe continues with great effort to climb out of the slippery pit. His failure results in boiling anger and more bellowing.

"Gonna KILL YOU WIZARD! An' eat yer HEART!"

Ulfe isn't quite the most creative ogre with his threats.

One of the oncoming orcs stops his advance in a desperate attempt to extinguish the flames on his body, while one of his companions staggers forward slowly, not even making the distance to Doruk. The third orc rushes in towards Mobled his axe tears a gash across the dwarf's already-threadbare tunic. -9 HP to Mobled.

Petrel's archer nemesis (assuming Petrel got past the pit) takes aim but misses the thief.

(Note: If Petrel fell into the pit, then Ulfe's roll would have been an attack instead of a climb check, and would've missed Petrel.

She instead channeling her rage into viciously punching the nose of the orc next to her with such force that his neck snaps back.

Doruk, seeing that Mobled certainly has things well in hand turns toward the ogre and moves to M3. He readies an attack if the Ogre or wolf closes.

"Mukluk, can you dispel this pit? I'm pretty sure I don't want to fall into it and I can't reach the ogre any other way unless I use my bow - and you know how good I am with that!"

Mukluk watches as the she-dwarf begins to tear into the orcs, her anger unleashed.

A-yep. She's a Muletender. She hates them orcs something fierce. But I don't recall her fighting like that before.

After seeing the effects of her fists upon the bones of the orcs, Mukluk feels a small amount of pity for them...then releases he's being an idiot.

"That's getting 'em, Mobled!" Mukluk hurrahs.

I really ain't seen her fight like that before. Then again, I ain't seen her in years.

Mukluk turns to Doruk.

"The pit will be receding soon, Doruk...and our big friend will be up again soon." Mukluk looks back to Petrel teetering at the edge of the pit.

Mukluk shifts his attention back to Mobled and Tiabrar behind him.

"Looks like those two have this side handled, Doruk. Let's go git us an ogre." Mukluk smiles, his bloodlust rising.

First, Mobled's readied attack kills OM3 before it's charge action resolves, so she took no damage in round 3.

Two orcs die to the combined efforts of fire and fist, while the two that survive look scorched and staggered. One begins working to extinguish the flames rippling up his body, while the other reluctantly approaches Mobled with his axe.

Great Ulfe finally claws his way out of the slippery pit and lumbers forward towards Doruk with his massive axe. Meanwhile, the orc archer continues to step away from Petrel and lands an arrow directly in the thief's shoulder. -7P to Petrel.

If the ogre closes up all the way, I get my readied attack and the AoO. If he stays at 10' away (though that will keep him in range of the pit trap) then I only get the readied attack.

With a grim look on his face and flames licking at his guisarme, Doruk faces the charging ogre head on. A little nervous, he fails to remember to power attack, but swings hard with both hands none-the-less. "Die you ugly brute, die!"

Readied attack:

Looks like the pit lasted until the beginning of Round 4. Too complex to try to retcon it ending in Round 3 (and I was under the impression it would last 1-2,2-3,3-4 as it's 3 rounds of duration.

With a flurry of coordinated strikes between Doruk, Tiabrar, Petrel and Mukluk, Great Ulfe stumbles a few steps side to side, his massive greataxe weaving drunkenly, before he finally collapses at Doruk's feet.

As the magical pit raises, the rapid wolf snaps Petrel, but misses.

The burning orc fails to extinguish his flames and collapses in a putrid heap of ash. The final orc archer drops his bow, and steps forward while burying his axe in Petrel's back. -5HP to Petrel

Doruk still gets an attack ahead of the wolf or orc. I'm assuming he moved up to attack the wolf, as the orc archer has soft cover from Petrel. Wolf in Q,3 and orc in Q,4 behind Petrel at P,4.

Mobled moves towards her cousin. "Haela be praised, that felt right and good. *Burp* Coz, ye don't 'ave ta apologize for misunderestimickating me, but howsabout ye put that wizard's wand to use. There'll be more orcs to kill." She looks a little green in the face, as though she's having trouble digesting the flagon's worth of whiskey she put down (i.e., she's sickened for two rounds as she recovers from the drunken part of her rage).


Normally I'd wait for Petrel to post, but I think I can guess his action and would like to resolve this combat since you guys mowed through the ogre.

It feels like Doruk's a solid hit away from eliminating the wolf... and Petrel/Tiabrar are a hit away from taking down the orc archer.

OK, go ahead and take as many actions as you have TBDs to try to clean out this combat by this evening. I'm OK with Doruk using his round 5 action to finish off the archer (i.e. it's acceptable meta-gaming at this point). 10 damage would eliminate that confirmed critical vs Petrel.

Petrel gives the group a scare as the orc's massive axe drops him to the ground in an explosion of blood and gore. The orc laughs, clearly knowing it is surrounded and outnumbered, but reveling in the fact he could "take at least one of the invaders with him."

Not understanding Martigan's healing has brought Petrel back to the land of the living, the orc turns and faces Doruk and snarls before he swings.

O v D (battleaxe): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 for 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

The axe buries deep into Doruk's armor, splitting it open like a tin can. He can clearly hear the orc chuckle again as it struggles to gloat in broken Common.

It smiles a wicked smile and waits for the humans', dwarves' and elf's next move.

Unexpected. OK, now finish this guy off with your next round of actions. Again, still no map as I expect (hope?) this is all completed this round.

Ah I see from movement people were going past this last orc provoking AoOs (Doruk mostly). I've revised Doruk to stop at O,3 for attacking the wolf and orc.

The wolf begins to stir to life once again, and from it's position on the ground snaps at the recovering Petrel before the thief can grab his weapons.
