Background:
Martigan has been know as the Sun-Touched since birth. The God Pelor chose him for service since he was born, and showed his favor by giving the young Martigan a sun shaped birthmark on the palm of his left hand. Growing to adulthood in the kingdom of Nyrond, Martigan was raised on tales of brave knights and pure clerics, heroes of Pelor and other good deities who sought out evil and purged it.
An accident at the temple of Pelor in the Free City saw Martigan disgraced and cast out of school. Not knowing where to go but feeling his destiny could not be thwarted by an alchemy professor and his tone deaf cat, Martigan signed on with the Sons of Sand in their recruiting drive as a healer when his flight brought him to Axeport in time for their recruitment drive.
At 5'8", Martigan stands a little taller than average. His brown hair and eyes marks him as a Oerdian, and he never wears his left gauntlet in order to fully utilize the power of Pelor that flows through him. Having experienced months of war with the Sons of Sand and their derision at his faith, Martigan has almost reached the end of his sanity and time with this particular mercenary band.
