Sandara shakes her head, "It's not my goodwill, but Besmara's fancy. She likes a bold salt, but beware... her attention can be fickle." She cites a quiet prayer to Besmara and her touch removes the worst of Tan's injuries.
Healed for 6 hp.
"Get outta here before you get me in trouble!" she says loudly, with a wink.

8 Sarenith, The Bloody Hour / Main Deck
The remainder of the afternoon passes with heat and toil, but uneventful. Again, just before sunset, the crew is mustered around the main deck for The Bloody Hour. Again, Mister Plugg gives his traditional speech.
"We, the crew of the Wormwood, brig of the Free Captain of the Shackles, Barnabas Harrigan, are bound to the rules and traditions of blood and bone, as set and enforced by the Cap'n hisself and those he appoints officers. Should we break them, the Cap'n's justice will be done, quick and sure, so the lesson be learned and debts are paid."
After, the first mate calls up a couple hands on charges -- Aretta for slacking and Conchobar for too much talking -- and Master Scourge metes out a few lashes each. Plugg then looks to Captain Harrigan, who gives a slight nod. The mate grimaces but concedes, turning to the crew.
"For their effort in clearing the bilge of dire rats, and providing us fresh meat for stew tonight, the Cap'n has graciously waived outstanding punishment for our half-orc brothers." He leans forward, pointing at Zevo. "But don't take this as licence for any lip or laziness! Any more trouble from you will earn double lashes."
The crew is then dismissed for chow, rum rations and sleep.
Tan, Vanyel and Mahlugul: Need Fort saves!
Is everyone partaking in their rum ration?

Clades |

Clades will call Tilly over once we get our Rum
With a grin Clades asks "Even'n lass, I am not much in the mood for my rum tonight, you have anything you'd be willing to trade fer it?"
How does gambling work?
Is the evening settling down much like it did last night? Some break out of games, groups etc?
What are the ones that wanted to pick a fight with us this morning doing? We are in no state to mess around if they want to push it tonight

DM NomadSage |

All: The rum deals 1d2 ⇒ 2 Con damage, and you are fatigued (or exhausted, if already fatigued).
*
Vanyel: By early evening, you are starting to feel ill, with a fever, and your bite wounds fester with pus.
*
Clades: Everything is much as the night before. The gambling appears to be a basic dice game with some house rules. You can pick up the basics after watching for a couple hours.
The bullies are doing their own thing, as before, and largely ignoring you. Aretta, the girl with the big ears and one of the morning bullies, is nursing her lash wounds.
Tilly eyes Clade's rum with a hungry look, but shrugs casually. "Ifr'n't gonna drink it, I'll take it of're hands... an' casual so them don't notice."

Clades |

Clades smiles at Tilly, "No worries lass, tell you what, if'n you hear anything you think I would want to know about, you let me know. You keep the info coming and I will keep you happy with my rum."
With that Clades passes his rum over on the down low
I will watch the game and see if it's something I can pick up and if it's something I think I could win at

DM NomadSage |

All: All but Clades will take the 2 Con damage from the rum. Your rest will restore 1 points, but you'll still have 1 remaining the next day. Only Vanyel appears to be affected by any disease.
Zevo: There is a dice game going with four players, but they do not yet appear welcoming to your joining in.

DM NomadSage |

Other than Vanyel coughing and sniffling, the rest of the night passes without trouble.
9 Sarenith, Morning / Main Deck
Aching and tired, you muster with all hands in the early dawn light. As before, Mister Plugg lays out the ship's orders before daily assignments are handed out.
Riggers - Lookout: A climb to the crow's nest 60 feet up. 4x DC 10 Climb checks, and a Perception check.
Cook's Mate - Feeling ill, you head to the galley only to find Fishguts wasted drunk and insensible.

Maybe I should stop drinking that swill. Bit too powerful for a ship's crew to be effective. Need to keep my game face on
He heads to the ropes, feeling a bit tired as he starts up them.

Clades |

Climb Check Assist - 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Perception Check - 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
I know he made it himself, but Clades wouldn't let a moment pass to rub it in a bit that he beat him up the rigging again and he could use a hand :)
Clades reaches out a hand for Tan, "Gimme yer hand Red, I like you too much to see you tumble from this distance," with a grin, "Though you may want to lay off that rum, it's making you a little green 'round the gills!"

Sandara Quinn *DM* |

Zevo will look at one of the other swabs
"Aye...The rum is killing me today. Maybe I didn't have enough."
Zevo earns a few disgusted looks and sighs, but later Sandara makes a friendly suggestion. "You lubbers a slow-learners. That rotgut will kill you before you see your next birthday, but its effective enough to clean blood off the planks. Don't let 'em see you toss it, though, or you'll earn more lashes. Instead, you gotta water it down into a grog to take the edge off."

Before work, Tan approaches the horc brothers
"I may have a way to sway the gnome rigger, Conchobar, but I need Zevo to get close to Rosie, that halfling swab. We need to see what she likes and see if we can set up Concobar for some romantic success. If we're lucky, we can swing both of them to our side."
Also, will talk to Vanyel
"Clades and I need to take another run at the quartermaster's store ... be sure to let us know when there's an opening."
And then to everyone
"I've been thinking ... somewhat difficult given this splitting headache of mine ... if we can secure ourselves a legitimate chest and lock, we can hide some of our contraband there for easier access and less chance of loss then downstairs or in the galley. Let's see if we can scrape together enough coin to do that. Some of you all gambling? Also, we may be able to sell a piece or two of that gear ... think on it."
----------------
9 Sarenith 4714
With Clades' help, Tan finds a few spare moments to say hi to Conchobar and to make some flattering comments about Rosie but quickly imply she prefers shorter men over taller.
If that counts as daytime action, no more today ... if not, he'll be sure to work near Badger Medlar, making conversation while they work the ropes/nest together.
"You certainly have a sharp eye for this ... could learn a few things from you. How long you been with this crew?"

DM NomadSage |

9 Sarenith, Rigging
Conchobar sighs dramatically. "The lament of unrequited love," he adds, shaking his head. He starts to recite some awful poetry as he works -- you aren't sure of the author.
*
Tan's overture to Badger is met with a warning glance. "Long enough to know when to keep me trap shut and keep me skin intact. Ye're friends better learn the same and quick!"

"Sandara that explains a lot, da rum is awful. Where does everyone get the rest of the stuff to make their grog, da kitch?"
While Zevo is swabbing the deck, Zevo will make his way towards Rosie
"Swabbing these decks all day is draining..where is the fun. Rosie is your name, right? Yeah, your da one the riggers been talking about....It seems he is a fan of yours."

"Ye think too much, and talk even more..." Badger snips. "But fair 'nough. A salt learns quiet-like, watching his betters and doing what needs doing instead o' bragging about things he ain't. I ain't holding your hand, but watch me work and ye'll get the idea."

"if yer want we could sit and have some grog later, and set you up with da riggers connections."

Clades smiles at Cog and nods in agreement, "Oh, aye, I'll take the heat over the cold any day. If'n you don't mind me asking, how'd you come to be work'n on this ship?"
"Volunteered," Cog shrugs. "Didn't we all?"
***
"All I want is a friendly face on this ship and some mates that I can rely on, dat is it. He seems like an good guy, err as good as a pirate can be, aye."
Rosie makes a skeptical face, arching an eyebrow. "@#*&$! Among this lot o' %&@#*s, I doubt it. But alright... who the &*@# is it?"

Clades |

Clades glances at Cog, "Oh, aye, I was volunteered." with a shrug and a grin Clades continues to work along side Cog, "It's not like this is the worst situation I have been in though, I managed to escape from prison not more then a couple of years ago, I tell you this, being out in the open air on a ship is by far preferable to being locked away in a stone cage!"

DM NomadSage |

Dammit... I completely fell off the wagon with this campaign. Or is "back on the wagon"? Either way, I'll get things going again.
"It's Conchobar. He's a hard workin mate, spending his days in the riggin' harmless I'm sure. Let's set down for some grog later. nothin' awful or any'ting, just some mates and some grog, dats it."
Rosie nods, chuckling. "I know him... Seems a bit of an #$%-*&#@er. I thought he was a poof." She shrugs, "Alright, I'll hang out with you later. Gnomes are @#$%ing weird though. Is he gonna curl up, #@%$ and die if I reject him?"

9 Sarenith / Evening
The remainder of the day's duties pass hard and hot, but you manage to avoid further attention from your task masters. As before, the crew is mustered for punishments -- which you all avoid this day -- the orders are read, then rum and rations are served.
Once again, Vanyel is able to turn the normally chumly gruel into something remarkably tasty. He gains more than a few grunts of approval from the crew, and even Caulky Taroon passes a compliment from the officers.
You settle into the lower hold, weary but happy to have made it through a day without wounds.
Anything for the night? All partaking in the rum ration?
