The highly unobservant Tan looks at Clades with a new level of appreciation, "Alright then, good info ... we'll need to build a game plan. May need to keep you around, Clades. If only to keep you out of the hands of the enemy!" Tan kids before he too rolls over to sleep, plans of conquest and visions of glory dancing in his mind.

DM NomadSage |

By fits and starts, eventually I'll get some momentum here...
8 Sarenith, Lower Deck / Morning
After you settle into your hammocks, sleep comes quickly and is interrupted seemingly just as fast. The dawn bell clanging and shouts for all hands on deck bring you back to consciousness feeling barely rested and sore. The veteran sailors have the jump on you, already awake and kits stowed before the bell is rung. Even so, the lower deck is a chaotic mad rush to the hatches. You struggle to shake off the dust and catch up, aware that Mister Plugg will not tolerate tardiness or excuses.
As you make for the hatch, six of the pirates -- Aretta Bansion, Fipps Chumlett, Jaundiced Jape, Maheem, Narhwal Tate and Slippery Syl Lonegan -- break off and block the exit.
“In a hurry?” Aretta says, laughing and pushing Vanyel in the chest. A few of the other sailors stand in the stairwell, watching with knowing grins.

Tan slips to the front stepping out cockily with a smile, "Now, now little girl, is this your first shakedown? Maybe you should try your luck with some bilge rats first," he affects a conspiratorial whisper, "We bite ..."

Mahlugul the Marauder |

I'm assuming that we had enough rest to recover about 8 hours of non-lethal damage.
Mahlugul steps forward to Tan's side, wincing at the combined pain from the recent lashing and the evening beat down. " ... like rabid dogs. Now move fools while you still can."
He smiles an evil grin and cracks his knuckles.

Clades |

You didn't say what small item Sandara gave me, so can I say she gave me my dagger like she gave to several others?
If so....
Clades grins at the group of pirates, "Only six of ya? I would say we kin wait if you want to go got a few more friends but you and I know being late to role is bad. Since I am feeling magnanimous I will let you all decide which one of you I cripple." Clades pulls out his dagger as he says this, "I am thinking I may start with a hamstring," Clades glares at Fipps, "How about you Fipps, you fat swine, you have some extra weight I could trim off you!"
"Enough, now move unless you are ready to lose pieces of yerself!"

Zevo finds the half-orc in question sitting by his rack, and sharpening a curved knife. He stares at Zevo sullenly, but makes no reply and continues to clean his blade.
I had put on the sheet that he has a Rogues Kit
So I didn't write out everything on it.
Just sent you my sheet with everything in the kit written on it.
My sheet had my weapons listed on it though

8 Sarenith, Lower Deck / Morning
Aretta scoffs Vanyel's threat to set the ship afire, but backs up a step when Clades flashes his dagger. "Hey, hey, no need for that. No one here's looking for blood." Taking a cue, the others back off and start to file up the ladder.
"Y'better hope Mr. Plugg don' find tha' shiv on ye," Fipps warns, still smiling.
@ Zevo: no obvious weapons... certainly no chairs on a ship. Plenty of rope.

Clades |

Clades grins evilly at Fipps, "Well Lardass, if any of the officers come looking for it, I'll be knowing it was you who sent them, and if'n they don't kill me, I am going to come find you and feed you your testicles."
If there is a moment after this and before we get on deck I will ask Zevo to take my dagger and hide it in the kitchen today as he has the most solitary work area and if anyone comes looking for it, they will be looking at me

Clades grins at Tan, "Ye just have to know how to talk to them Red"
To Vanyel, "Thanks mate, I won't forget this."
Tan shouts over his shoulder as he scampers up the ladder, bright orange loose linen pant legs fluttering, "Ya just learned it watching me last night! I am flattered by the imitation, truly!"

Clades |

Clades has himself a good belly laugh as he follow Tan out, "Aye Red, they say imitation is the best for of flattery!"
More quietly to Tan "I want to help that fat swine imitate a boat anchor."
To Nevo, "I'll keep that in mind, make sure you keep your head down today, and make sure your brother does too, we need to blend in"
Was there any sort of a watch last night? Are their any of the sailors that are up on deck all night keeping a look out or anything? I know Tan and I weren't up there for long but did we see anything?

DM NomadSage |

As you all pile up onto the main deck, Master Scourge eyes everyone with suspicion, but remains silent. As on the previous day, once everyone is arrayed on the deck, Mister Plugg steps forward and lays out the law of the ship -- the rehearsed, daily reminder of who is in charge. After the first mate finishes, you are again split off for daily tasks: riggers are sent to practice mainsail operation while swabs are set to making repairs.
Swabs - Repairs: Things constantly tear or break aboard the
ship and need repairs, whether sewing sails or splicing rope all day, requiring a DC 10 Profession (sailor) or Dexterity check.
Riggers - Mainsail Duties: Tough work raising and lowering the mainsail, requiring a DC 10 Profession (sailor) or Strength check. Must also make a DC 10 Constitution check to avoid being fatigued at the end of the shift.
Cook's Mate - Fishguts is sober and takes care of most of the day's food preparation, leaving you with little to do.

How feasible would is be to have Narwhal or Syl have an accident while up in the rigging? Is it possible, is there a skill I could use to set that up and make it look truly like an accident?
edit - I asked this above but you didn't respond - Was there any sort of a watch last night? Are their any of the sailors that are up on deck all night keeping a look out or anything? I know Tan and I weren't up there for long but did we see anything?

Tan wears himself out on the ropes, and although he's gassed, he takes a moment to hunt out the quartermaster, Grok, and get a sense of the half-orc.
Hopefully she's more sensible than the two I through my lot in with
As he approaches her ... assumedly at the store
"My, my, fine lady! You look ravishing today! May I say that I've never been so inclined to visit the supply store with nary a coin in my pocket as much as I will on this ship. What you got hiding back there? Don't suppose they found a fabulous feathered, wide-brimmed hat that I seem to have lost upon boarding this ship?"

You could set something up with a decent prof/sailor check... effect based on how well you roll, perhaps augmented with a bluff-type check. Keep in mind, the rigging is busy with workers who understand the lines as well or better than you -- being noticed is your biggest threat.
I missed it -- you don't have access to the main deck at night. There are guards posted by Plugg.
***
@ Vanyel -- you can't just whip up healing potions... those actually cost money.

DM NomadSage |

8 Sarenith, Galley / Day
With Fishguts being productive, Vanyel has only sporadic tasks to take care of, giving him a good amount of free time to sort his alchemical supplies and craft a few extracts for later use.

8 Sarenith, Rigging / Day
Once the sun is away from the horizon, the temperature steadily rises to a blistering heat. The wind helps some, but even it feels warm and cloying.
*
8 Sarenith, Main Deck / Day
Zevo and Mahl manage to stay out of trouble for a couple hours, keeping busy at work. The sun beats down mercilessly, making even the planks uncomfortably hot, and any pitch dangerous to touch.
Just after the mid-morning bell, young Jack Scrimshaw comes running up onto the deck, panting hard and holding his arm. You see blood.
He runs to Mister Plugg. "Sir! I was cleanin' the bilges, like ye told me. Somethin' the size of a cat swam up an' bit me! It were no normal rat, sir!" He holds out his bleeding limb as proof.
The first mate grimaces, "Get that thing bandaged before you stain the deck with yer spattering." He grunts and looks around the deck. "I need volunteers to go and clear the bilge..."

Clades |

To Tan "Maybe we could use this as a chance to get our weapons, then again you should never volunteer for anything."
"But I'll go if you'll come and watch my back, it could be a trap, maybe the horcs would be interested"
Before that I will try and work near Maheem and see what he is about, I don't think I have any info on him
"Afternoon mate, look'n like you could use a bit of a hand with that, here let me help. So what's your story?"

"Clades, cover for me. Gonna go work on our gear. Make like I'm taking a puss and sneak down."
Tan will edge over to relieve himself and then sneak down with the aid of a reduce person

Mister Plugg grunts as no recruits come forward. "Fine..." His eyes land on Zevo and Mahlugul. "Horcs like hot, damp holes that stink of shite... you two go and don't come back up 'til all the rats are dead!" After a moment, the first mate adds, glancing up at Tan and Clades "Bring your new friends as well... and the cook's mate, while you're at it."

Clades |

"Mister Plugg, and chance we could get our weapons back to kill what ever is down there? No reason to be putting us in harms way over a quick extermination job."
Diplomacy - 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17
If that is a no, I will go and get Vanyel and see what we can get from the galley to assist us

Clades |

"Yes sir, we'll go get Vanyel."
Clades will move off to collect Vanyel and invite Tan to come with,
Quietly to Tan, "See if you can work on the quartermaster while I get Van."
"Hey Van, we all got volunteered to go clear out the rats in the bilges, have you found anything here we could use to take them out quickly?"

Mahlugul the Marauder |

Mahlugul yawns, "Killing rats is better than swabbing decks. And besides, I prefer killing with my hands."
Mahlugul cracks his knuckles and leads the way downstairs.

Vanyel, see spoiler above and note you found some weapons
Tan will attempt to hit the quartermaster up quickly on the way, if that's possible (next door to galley, right?)
As we go down to the bulges, before we enter and after Vanyel passes out the blades (Tan has one already), he will gather the group together. "Let's discuss some quick tactics ...."
Use tactician ability to grant precise strike feat to everyone for 3 rounds which allows you to add 1d6 precision damage if you're flanking with someone else who has precise strike. Stacks with sneak attack

8 Sarenith, Day / Quartermaster's Store
While stopping at the galley to collect Vanyel, you catch a glimpse into the quartermaster's store across the deck. Beyond the reinforced hatch is a cramped, crowded storeroom containing numerous barrels, boxes, and chests. A tall, reedy half-orc woman with a huge scar across her neck sits on a stool in the doorway, leaning against the frame. She is busy picking at her fingernails with a long dirk.
(For a pic, just google 'Cut throat Grok')
"My, my, fine lady! You look ravishing today! May I say that I've never been so inclined to visit the supply store with nary a coin in my pocket as much as I will on this ship.
