Afraid I'm going to have to drop out of this one guys. Been getting busier lately, I just don't have the time for a 3rd PbP.
No worries, things happen. Thanks for giving us the heads up.
Everyone else, I'll probably open the recruitment thread up and see if anyone who wasn't selected still wants to join. I'm not going to halt the game at all, just be aware that Mahlturis might suddenly metamorph into someone else. ;-)

Grutsnick |

Grinning at Grutnick's response, Regi responds,"We shall have to wait and see, Grutsnick, my friend. But, I see that this arrangement has some wonderful possiblities that will need further consideration!"
I am thinking we might be able to work up a very unique form of mounted combat. Nothing like having a charging barbarian with a halfling on his back blasting away.
For some reason I'm picturing MasterBlaster from Mad Max Beyond the Thunderdome.

DM Jonasty |

Everyone please welcome Lorelei into the group, our new Half-Elf Wizard. Because Mahlturis didn't post too much during his time here and we're still fresh into the game, I'm not going to worry about the continuity stuff.
<waving jedi fingers in the air> The male tiefling has always been a female half-elf.
I'll have updates to the IC stuff soon. Weather and work have been annoying to say the least. Alexander I didn't get it nearly as bad as you but still dealing with stuff because of it.

Lorelei |

Hello all and thank you DM. :)
I still need to pick a second trait for Lorelei, but first I wanted to check and see if there was a certain set of campaign traits we were supposed to pick one from?
I'll go and try to catch up on the IC thread.

A couple questions before I finish spending my starting gold: When I put a spell in my spellbook do you want me to pay for the scroll and scribing cost or just the scribing cost? Also will I get a discount on items based on creation feats?

Do whatever works best for you monetarily. See my notes above to Mahlturis about how many scrolls you could purchase of what level but as far as scribing them in and cost and cost of making items, take whats best. I'm gonna hopefully throw some crazy goop your way so take all the advantages you can.
And as far as traits, there's no official list. Just what's on the PFSRD which is pretty much everything. Just so long as its Paizo published, not a 3rd party company.

DM Jonasty |

Just wanted to apologize and give a heads up. Work has really been kicking my tail last week and this week, and as you may have guessed given my usual posting times and amounts I tend to do a lot of my posting at work. ;-)
That being said, I'm still around and kicking and chomping at the bit for the game and hope to have updates soon and be more on the ball with posting. I just didn't want anyone to think I had abandoned the game.

Lorelei |

For a bit there you had me feeling like I had jinxed the game. Glad you're planning on continuing. :)
My character sheet is complete I think. Finished up my gear and picked my second trait and wrote down the spells I have prepped for the day.

It is pretty cool.
One suggestion, if I may, is in situations like this where everybody is required to make a save and there are passive perception checks, just roll for everybody rather than wait. This will allow you to set the scene all at once along with what we see and how we are affected without waiting a day for everybody to post rolls. Just a thought and of course only if everybody is ok with it, but for things like this and saving throws to get through the jungle and whatnot I've no problems with you rolling all of our saves in a batch and just telling us what happens.

Honestly I'm fine doing that and I usually will. Generally (as I'm doing with the last post) I will ask for rolls from people when I know it will take me a little while to get the next post together, usually cause I'm at work when I do these. Since I know my post will be a few hours from now, I might as well give players the chance to "bone" themselves. ;-) If I've got everything ready to go and it would impact me updating things then I'll deal with the passive stuff and saves myself.

DM Jonasty |

I mentioned this in the gameplay for Reginald's bullets but it really apllies to everyone. As you are in the jungle, days away from any kind of town, I need people to be vigilant with their equipment usage in their character profiles as these things will become an issue eventually, from ammunition to potions and such. Being in the jugnle, rations are the one thing I'm flexible on as there are enough people with good Survival scores to keep everyone fed and hydrated. Also if you could just make sure your overall gear list is up-to-date and filled out.
That being said, Barker you don't have any gear or encumberance info in your profile. Could you please fill this out when you can? Specifically in relation to this post, there is no listing for how many crossbow bolts you are carrying or have used since heading out.

Barker's equipment list is under Fluff, which is probably why you missed it. I'll put up his encumbrance shortly. I have to admit I haven't been keeping track of how many bolts he's used, but I think he only used some during the spider attack. I'll go back and have a look.

DM Jonasty |

Hey Jonasty, how do you add maps and images to your post?
In what sense? As far as the code, it's simply the URL portion of the formatting suggestions below the post window. {url=insert website address here}Text you want displayed in the post.{/url}
As far as the map/image itself I use Google docs. You just upload the file in GDocs and then share the generated link for it. I use excel as a simply and dirty map but you can upload jpegs and such and other things. The share link url GDocs provides is what you would plug into the url code I mentioned above.
Hope that helps or let me know if you have other questions.

I will be getting married on Saturday, and as such my posting rate will drop slightly until Sunday evening. Feel free to DMPC me along if necessary. I know it's a bad time right in the middle of a fight but I think I posted out my round 1 already and Grutsnick isn't the most complicated soul in combat.
