I just looked at your character sheet, and thought I'd let you know that your skills would make you a good Captain. They can encourage their crew, and taunt their enemies. The skills they use in starship battles are Diplomacy (you have a +4) and Intimidate (you have a +8). How are you all determining your bonuses in the different Starship roles? i.e. Captain +?, Science Officer +?,... I have been looking through both the Starfinder and Starfinder Society CRBs and I can't seem to find where these numbers are calculated.

CRB, pages 320 (Gunnery) and 322-325 (Others). Gunnery is calculated as BAB + ranks in Piloting skill + Dex. Others, are just straight equating of skills Science=Computers, Engineer=Engineering. Presumably, "Captain"=Diplomacy skill, although the Captain with the proper skills can use those specific skills to encourage specific actions.

Also, be sure to check out the FAQ as DCs for many of the starship actions in the CRB have been errata'd.

I suggested we "dedicate" the +1 bonuses each turn to the Pilot and two gunners each round (perhaps moving the gunner bonus to Engineer if we start taking on damage).

"Gunners get the bonuses unless stated otherwise" usually works pretty well in my experience. And Pilot is probably a good use of the third.

Did we ever, as a group, decide for sure on starship roles? Can I get a list?

Just grab a role that has not already been taken, or can have multiple people in it. So far we already have a forward gunner and a pilot. That leaves lots of options open for you- though captain looks like it may be your best fit.

Sorry for the delay in my actions, I am currently just trying to figure out what exactly I can do to help. The only position I really have skills for is Captain, but Serrarra is even better suited for that job than me. If anyone has any suggestions on where I could be of some help don't hesitate to let me know, but until then I think I might be stuck as a passenger buckling in and cheering on the rest of the crew.

Keskodai can take Science station next round and Regalion can cover the secondary gun. Though, if we are just trying to maximize firepower, we may want Regalion in Captain's chair and Seerara, the far better gunner, at the firing controls. If Regalion inspires her, she has a +4 gunnery rather than +2.

Yeah, it seems that Solarians are deliberately screwed over on starship combat skills.

We only have two weapons that can fire on any given turn, so a third gunner will mostly be a passenger too.

I'm a passable engineer or science officer, and we can always use more of those.

I think there's one stunt (Flyby) that might allow both Forward and Aft gunners to fire, and if we do that I'll jump into the unused weapon for that turn. For now I'll bounce between Science and Engineering as needed.

So I just read into the description of my Stationwear again just to find out that it has environmental protection built in so all of those horrible Fort Saves were pointless and unnecessary. So how can I do to correct this since we've moved on passed this point and apparently I feel like crud in game?

I wasn't sure where to ask this question, but there are a lot of experiences SFS and PFS players here, so I figured it would be a good place.

I was just finishing up my purchases from my last scenario and I felt like I had too many credits after selling off the equipment I found. I'm sitting 3,000 credits after my first chronical. That seems a bit high since that allows me to buy some level 5 items while my character is still level 1.

I don't have time to glance at it right now, but for starters in Starfinder you sell everything at 10% value, not half like in Pathfinder, which might throw off your calculations.

Also, you keep the chronicle sheet and can come back and purchase items from it as you level.

Once you have access to the items, you never lose access. However, you don't gain access to items you did not gain access to when you got the sheet. In this case, the subtier 3-4 items. You can gain access to them later from another scenario.

The same holds true for any boons, though boons really don't repeat.

You can buy anything on your chronicle, and anything with an item level up to your level +1 (assuming you have not acquired any infamy).

I have an idea, but I'm not sure if it's legal. If I went up to the door would I be able to use my Limited Telepathy to "probe" 30' into the next room and see if I can "hear" any lifeforms on the other side. The abilities description only says that I can communicate with other creatures whom I share a language with, but if I'm just trying to sense them it doesn't matter if I understand what their thinking just that there are thought there.
I guess what I'm asking is if I would be able to use this ability to sense the presence of minds within 30' of the other side of the door.

Thanks for the game everyone. One of my personal peeves is situations that you have to fight to make a scenario work. In this case I think it makes a lot of sense to be able to avoid that.
