Thud retrieves his big CLUB and haunch. Then turns around to offer some meat to Thok only to find the little nipper has pulled a LADDER out of somewhere.

Finding Thok engaged THud finishes the rat haunch. Killing Lotlegses of all sizes is hungry WORK.

Glop clamors back around to the lair opening. Peering inside it's filled with smoke and soot. Only shades and shadows can be seen by the glow of the smoldering embers trying to ingnite. The thrashing and screeeeeeeeee screeeeeeeeee of the dazzled spiders trying to regain their senses is audible. She would have to go in and feel around for the shineys.

Thok is below working out some cleaver gymnastics with a ladder to beat Glop to the shineys.

Glop sees Thok. How does she react to him trying to join her by the lair?

Thud is eating the cooked and smoked rat haunches. He holds it up towards Glop from 20 feet below, but does not stop eating.

Grimlek saw an ant hill and his instincts took over. He can be seen taking a wiz on the ants with a huge grin on his face.

Thok, seeing Glop sitting outside the cave, wonders if he can catch him(her?) before she finds any shinies.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh...that better. Grimlek says with a huge smile on his face. Grimlek then pulls up his leather armor leggings made of stitched together leather belts and then belts them with another leather belt sewn into the leather belts to keep the leather belts together on his armor made of leather belts that are leather...belts.


Glop goes and helps Thok up onto the Tree.

Glop help Thok! Thok can go into cave and throw out the shines! Wez sharezes shineys. Thok can go first and see if more lotslegs inside.

Thok clambers up the ladder. From the top he makes a heroic climb to the branch above. He makes it! He climbs exactly right and reaches exactly the right spot to grab ahold (needed a 15 check). But then . . . due to genetic misfortune, or perhaps inbreeding, his grip does not hold (the -1 to climb) so his hand slips and he falls!

He falls, and falls, and falls. Falling. Fall--. Wait, he's still in the air. Looking up, Thok sees Glop has reached over and grabbed his wrist. Using his great acrobatic skills Thok flings himself up and onto the branch.

Thok and Glop are now facing the mouth of the lair.

What to do . . .

Down below on ground level. There's a rustling in the nearby brush . . .

Thud hears a rustling, "Hmm, more food?"

Apparently the fire, smoke and smell of burnt meat has attracted an admirer.

Thud does indeed spy more food. Shuffling through the briar 25 feet away you can just make out a long thin tail attached to a set of haunches that look very much like the one you just finished devouring. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

When we hear the rustling Grimlek will hop back on Toothlizard and ready himself for the fearsome beast that is undoubtedly about to attack them and rend them into tiny gobbler sized pieces.

The commotion of Toothlizard, Grimlek and Thud draws the creature out from the brush. It's a giant swap rat about the size and weight of a goblin. The swamp rat extends it head and neck up slowly sniffing the air. Its tiny pink eyes focus in on the charred and gnawed rat haunch Thud is holding. Foam starts dripping from it's snarling rabid lips. Matted foul fur bristles stand on end. This swamp rat is not happy with your choice of snacks.
Powerful muscles tighten as it prepairs to charge Thud!

Rat init 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

Go if your faster. Rat food if your not!
I'll run the lower and upper encounters seperate, unless/untill actions cross over.

Grimlek & SpiderThud;

The swamp rat lunges at Thud. His disease ridden mouth attempting to chomp down on the arm holding the eaten haunch.

It's bite, although vicious, does not seem to damage the mighty SpiderThud.

Thud is a bit nonplussed that the rat wants to eat his gator armor, but apparently tenderizes the ground instead.

Thok peers into the cave, seeking the shinies as his keen darkvision pierces the darkness.

The swamp rat awaits retaliation from SpiderThud and Grimlek. You are all next to each other.

Up by the lair, Thok and Glop can see what's going on below, but there also soooooooooo close to the shines .

The swamp rat spits out a hiss at Grimlek's toothlizard as it avoids the attack. The scent of carrion and disease travel on it's hot breath.

Thud missed on round 1, but he'll try again.

Thud takes another swing, but is obviously overcome by the stinky rat breath. He backs away wrinkling his nose.

Swamp Rat vs. The Amazing SpiderThud and Friends
Round 2 DING!

Being frightened by the giant toothlizard, but still enraged by the eating of his brethren, the swamp rat circles around SpiderThud to place him between it and the shamans pet. (no AoO, he just circled around).
He razor sharp needle fangs attempt to clamp into SpiderThud's juicy calf.

The crowd goes wild as absolutely nothing continues to happen in this matchup.

The cave is thick with opaque smoke so dark vision does not help. *however*. Thok did see into the lair before it started to catch fire. If you were to go inside a feel around for the items where you remember them you would gain a +5 to intelligence checks.

If you choose to do so, the closest item you remember was near the entrance and would be a DC 10. It's gets harder as you move further into the lair.


Thok - you hold breaths, run in and find shinies then throw out to Glop. Glop catch shinies. Then come back out. No Throw LotsLegs
Glop pushes Thok torward cave.

"Thok be smart, wait till smoke clear out. Thok shoot rat instead."

With that, a ray of blue flame shoots out of his hands, down toward the rat.

Ray for Fiery Frost: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Damage:1d3 ⇒ 2 Fire Damage!

The swamp rat yells out in startled pain!
As SpiderThud and Grimlek look on, a bold of pure blue fire, yes BLUE fire, streaks down from above searing into the rodent. Burnt infested rat hair smell fills the air as a scorched patch is left on your future meal. Pre cooking?

    Be aware, the lair is smoldering inside at several spots. It's in danger of bursting into flame at any moment. Smoke is getting thicker and billowing faster out of the opening.

    Toothlizard grabs the swamp rat's neck with extreme prejudice. Picking it off the ground, toofie points his muzzle straight up and violently shakes the rat! Tossing it up and re-grabing, the mighty t-rex snaps it jaws shut sending the mangy head flying one way and the juicy body the other.

    Grimlek starts scratching Toothlizard around his neck and ear holes. Who's a good boy?!? Who's a good Toothlizard?!? You are that's who!

    Thud looks a little disappointed. "HEY! lizard eat rat! big...BITE!"


    Glop sensing that cave of shinies could catch on fire any moment. Takes deep breath and goes in looking for shinies.

    Perception check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

  • Glop
    Glop enters the cave. The thick smoke is a swirl of grey with black streaks. A half dozen smoldering embers look like distant fog shrouded glimmers. Your reaching hand finds nothing but the hard rough surface of the dried web lair.

    You are fighting off the urge to choke and cough on the smoke.
    Make a fortitude DC 12 save

    Something stirs to your left, and you sense by the looping smoke swirls that something just exited the lair.

    If your less picky about the items, you can use both hands to grab ANYTHING you find and stow away or throw them out the opening.
    -2 to each roll if grabbing wildly, otherwise a single roll

    A baby lots-legs has recovered. It scurries to the opening and attempts to run down the tree to escape the smoke.
    AoO as it runs past

  • Grimlek & SpiderThud

    You see the spidey trying to run past Thok down the trunk. If it gets past Thok, it's all yours!

    Fort Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

    Thok, his massive exposure to fire clearly making him immune to smoke, dives right in. Without a care in the world, he starts grabbing and tossing things out of the tree. "Catch da Shinies!!!"

    Int Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

    +5 for seeing inside the nest before the smoke, -2 for grabbing wildly.

    Thud drops the CLUB and goes back to the lil' legs slicer.

    Slice 'em! 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
    damage 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

    "Good for DOGS and lotslegs." He stuffs it in his mouth. "Now ME babyeater, too!"


    Fort save : 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 REALLY?

    Glop got to find shinies!
    Searching wildly
    1d20 - 2 ⇒ (18) - 2 = 16 glop may die from smoke but will find shinies!

    Thud:
    Thud chops the juicy lil' legs in half and starts eating.

    Thok and Glop are both are the lair grabbing for stuffs.

    Thok:
    Thok grabs two shinnys and tosses them out the cave mouth. He's holding his breath well and is not effected by the smoke (yet)

    Glop:
    Glop grabs what she thinks is a shinny in each hand, but turns out to be one big shinny. She tosses it out the opening. Glop is now coughing and choking in the smoke. No damage this round.

    Items start to be flung out of the opening heading to the ground below!

    Grinlek & Thud:
    Three items a flung out of the lair. One you recognize as a crossbow. One looks like a glass flask and the last is a leather pouch about fist size.
    You each may attempt to catch an item. DC 12 Dex check. If you know a better way to catch it, please post that instead, with all rolls needed

  • Next Round
    Glop & Thok can each make another grabbing attempt. Anyone in the lair need to make a DC 15 Fortitude check for smoke.

    Oh, and the last two spiders are waking up now . . .

    The ever amazing Grimlek whips a net from over his shoulder, spurs toothlizard to the correct spot, and WHOOSH, notin butt net.

    A small glass vile with blue liquid lands unharmed in the net.

    Are you going to stand on the edge of the lair and catch anything Glop may toss out, or go to the ladder then down.

    No check needed to go back down the ladder.

    Thok stay at edge of lair, let Glop throw stuff out and he catch it. He have rope with many pockets to hold things in.

    Glop:
    You manage to grab one object and franticly throw it out the opening.

    You choke and cough with the building smoke.
    It causes your lungs to burn a bit.
    NON-LEATHEAL smoke hurts 1d6 ⇒ 4

    If you stay in the cave;
    - it's 1d6 NON-leatheal damage for each missed save from hear on out.
    - Reaching 0 HP means you pass out.
    -After passing out, you start to take regular damage if you stay in.
    -It's a full round action to exit the lair.

    As a great Goblin band once pondered "Should I Stay or Should I Go?"

    On the ledge of the lair

    Thok:
    Something comes flying out of the lair opening thrown by Glop.
    DC 12 reflex check to catch it before it whips past you.

    On the ground below the lair

    Grimlek and SpiderThud:
    An object is thrown out of the opening above near Thok. If he misses it, or does not try to catch it, you can make a DC 10 Dex check to get it before it hits the ground.

    For the Catch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

    Thok goes for the catch, but it brushes his fingertips and he misses it!


    Glop moves out of the cave. She feels she has proven herself enough and does not nned to die today. Save strength to get big booms.
