I'm waiting for the others to chime in; Gemel doesn't have survival as a skill. Also, we need to decide as a team if we will rush the courtyard, to take advantage of the 3 rounds or so of haste (and other round/level buffs we have up). Not sure that's a real good idea myself...

If we can't track the redcap, there's no use rushing into a bad situation. Let's regroup, secure this area, then move on when we're ready.


Missed Relan's survival roll

Relan is able to find a ton of redcap footprints, smallish, steel shod boots ... old ones and recent ones. He doesn't see anything that jumps out at him down here as having "just" happened.

These tracks tell me little. To go further we must venture out of this gatehouse and into the compound or leave and come in another way.

For the most part, you've secured this 3-story building. There is only the one entrance at the bottom, which is locked, aside from the windows.

Shall I assume you wait a bit? Considering duration of your ongoing spells, how long do you wish to "hunker" down?

Relan looks to his fellows, his hand on the door handle. Is anyone not ready? he asks as he pulls a vial of anti-toxin from his belt and drinks it. I think that is the only buff I have available. If his Fey Bane, which lasts 1 minute, has expired, and it's got to be close, he will renew it.

I figured such a door would lock from our side. No? Can anyone handle locks? Will delay activating Bane until door is open.

It's also pretty impressive that Roy came down here running for his life, and still locked it after him (I'm assuming no auto-locks on Golarion). That said, I think Braelax is our lock specialist + 30 Disable Device according to her sheet.

And if we don't find him, lets check back upstairs... We're not burning off any buff spells that we haven't already. Might take us another 2 minutes but...


Gemel spends a minute searching the bottom floor, unconvinced that the redcap leader was able to flee and get out the door in the time he was out of sight.

His search turns up nothing, indicating either the redcap either found a way out of the gatehouse or is a master at hiding.

Relan will push the door open as he renews the Bane on his weapon, but will not step out for a round. He almost expects a flurry of crossbow bolts to come flying at the opening door. What can he see as the door opens?

@Braelex ... I see, those tokens should be in the black a bit to the right for me to grab when I wish to use them. You left them picketed at the outer wall, a couple hundred feet to the east.

Relan cautiously opens the door and spies the empty courtyard as reported by Vuloo earlier. You cannot see the balcony where the redcap archers were seen, given it is blocked by the huge lighthouse.

Suspecting that the archer may still be there, Relan moves out towards the tower and looks about.

Gemel takes a double move, wordlessly keeping up with Relan. His head is on a swivel, wary of possible ambushes.


Relan and Gemel sprint quickly out into the open stone courtyard, hitting stride near breathlessly and somewhat surprised that no bolts, arrows or boulders came sailing out to meet them, nor are there any audible cries of alarm or warning. Standing just shy of the shadow of the tower, where they are, they see ... and hear nothing.

Yeah, and it's a shooting gallery for the crossbowmen on the elevated gallery who will undoubtedly raise the alarm. Who we can't close with because they are elevated. X (and Y) is under cover from them, and we can peek around the corner. X to Y is less than 90', and thus, we can do it in a single run action (120'); they don't get a shot...

They will be readied and get shots. Still not sure why you think Y is better than A. Both get us cover the from crossbow fire.

I am not sure we should be using 100% of the information we can see on the map. Relan is head to the north area A simple because it is closer and less time out of cover, he thinks. If he has all the information revealed on the map, including that there seems no way out of A an that Y has more options he will head to Y.


I revealed everything that Vuloo scouted while invisible earlier.
Creatures were left in the last place Vuloo reported them

Assuming we don't get jumped, and the crossbowmen are still there, group sprint to Y.


The 2-person advance party continues to the sprint to the X, slamming into the wall and then <insert PC name here> peeks around to see what is visible to them.

Stealth check from <insert PC name here>?

Andel doesn't see anything of note from his location in the courtyard. (Note Gemel also has see invisibility up)

Where is Vuloo, exactly, and is he invisible?

Gemel gestures silently, encouraging Braelax and Andel to catch up.

I think Braelax has the best stealth in the party, right (and a nice high perception too)? So perhaps she should be the one doing the peeking around the corner.
