"I agree Kovax, time is short but we do need the night of rest in order to recover. Since we will be here, if we were to attend the event, we may get a critical piece of information that could help us in finding khonnir. Let's go there this evening, and depart once again in the morning. I also have some shopping that I need to take care of."

DMFflash |

Dave is lost comm for a week or more so based on his last couple posts, I'd say he is on board with resting. He's not worried about the gambling locale
Kovax, you won't be able to work on your gun and go to the entertainment place within the day. 1 days work assumes full work breaking for rest only. Not a 9 to 5 job.

Kovax Exner |

The rules say that creating an item takes 8 hours, which is pretty much a 9-5 with a break for lunch. It doesn't actually take 24 hours. So depending on when we met with the smith and if he was able to let me work in his shop, it's not out of the way to say that I was able to work for most of the day and still have the evening free to use the invite.
One thing I am not seeing though is a DC for this, is there one or is it just assumed if I have the mats and time I can do this?

DMFflash |

It's not magic item crafting nor the craft skill (which doesn't have an 8 hour exception like magic items), it's the gunsmithing feat specifically and given its closer to craft and you can make it over 9000 times faster than the average masterwork item, you're using the whole day other than rest.
No DC, it just works

Urgeon Porpentine |

Urgeon sighs, "Well, I guess Khonnir will have to wait. Lead on Kovax and Ridic. What shall we do with the day?"

Ridic Slaranack |

"Well maybe we should go to The Copper Coin to get a meal, since that is about all I can afford, then we can get some rest before we meet for the evening event."
Ridic is not buying anything as he is too poor!!

Loot
Before you depart, Sanvil grabs your attention, "I do still have a few odds and ends from my trips around Numeria. Let me know if anything grabs your attention."
He has the following for sale (and it will refresh should he leave and return):
zipstick (20 gp), 1 dose of torpinal (300 gp), 1 dose of universal serum (500 gp), 2 doses of vitality serum (400 gp ea), 5 batteries (50gp ea)
If you're interested in knowing more about what any of these are (since by all rights you should have no idea), let me know
Silverdisk Hall
After a day of shopping and information gathering, you clean up and head over to the largest entertainment venue in the town.
The building is made of wood interlaced with skymetal here and there to show the wealth of its owner and to highlight some of the finer points of architecture.
After walking through the swinging saloon doors, you step into what would normally be a bustling room. Tables and bars made of a rich mahogany and decorated with skymetal finishings are laid out in a manner that funnels you from game to game to bar and back. The tables are covered in velvet and the windows are adorned with silk curtains embroidered in silver.
If it weren't for the clientele, the place would just scream wealth and aristocracy. However, in a town of smiths, merchants and miners, there is no noble class, so there's something about the entire setup that seems almost surreal.
As you enter the room, a garrulous man with a full beard and sparkling eyes spies you and disconnects himself from the trio of women he's talking with, letting his eyes linger on one of them with a touch of a leer. "Hail! If it isn't the illustrious explorers returned from a seeming wood chipper of adventuring parties! Welcome to my establishment! I'm so glad you accepted the invite," he takes each of your hands briefly, his grip strong and sure even if his calloused hands seem a bit incongruous with his courtly dress.

Silverdisk Hall
Urgeon confidently walks in and shakes the man's hand, "Thank you for the invite Garmen. I'm Urgeon and these are my friends Razor, Ridic and Kovax. We are just on a brief respite before we return to the caverns. Gorum willing, we mean to bring Khonnir out of there first thing tomorrow. We would like to speak with you privately sometime this evening concerning several issues of importance. For now, what can we use these vouchers for?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 1

Ridic Slaranack |

Prior to entering the the hall Ridic will tell the party about a rumor he had heard. So when we were at the Copper Coin (assuming that is where I heard it?) I heard some folks talking about the headaches people have been having lately. They suspect someone is tampering with the water at Crowfeather Palace and some have gone as far as drinking just rainwater. There may be nothing to this, but then poisoning the water source would be most effective in a town like this. We should consider checking that out."
Silverdisk Hall
Ridic walks up and shakes his hand " Yes, thank you for the invite, you have a most wondrous looking establishment, purely divine. Unfortunately as my friend here had mentioned, our visit back to town will be brief."
"Why, may I ask did we receive such an elegant invitation to your establishment?"

DMFflash |

"I think it's only fitting for any who've taken up the challenge to enter this caves and find out what happened to our city's namesake. You can use them as credit at any of our dice and card tables and if you're gambling, the ladies will bring you drinks."
He smiles broadly and winks as he adds, "Feel free to add your own money to the ante as well. Check in and get your disks from the cashier next to the bar. You can cash out with her as well and as we are trying to introduce silverdisks into the local currency, we are giving those out 1 for 9 gp worth."
Someone runs up and whispers into Garmens ear. He waves them away smiling and then turns to you, "I must attend to business, please enjoy yourselves."
He heads to a door in the back of the game room.

"Well that was rather uninformative....I guess we can play a couple games then take another run at him, after whatever he is dealing with is taken care of"
What sort of games are here, and what is the value of the invitation?

DM Fflash |

The certificate is for 100gp, which is 10 silverdisk-like tokens
I have simple gambling rules below to expedite the evening. I do have rules for 4 different specific games if you wish to do that, but it will be longer. Depends on how "into" gambling you want to get.
There are multiple dice, roulette, and card games. This will be a 2-post process, if you wish to gamble. Post how much you want to bet in one post (10gp increments) and if you intend to bluff or cheat. Then in a separate and very next post, post your gambling and skill rolls.
Gambling rolls: Charisma check unless you have ranks in Profession Gambler, then you can use that instead. You can bluff for potential advantages or use sleight of hand to attempt to cheat. Make those rolls in your post if you wish to do them as well.
Obviously you can bet more than what you have, and you must let me resolve a bet before you place another one.

Urgeon Porpentine |

Urgeon cracks his knuckles and sits down at the table. With a rueful smile he slides over one 10gp increment and rolls the dice. "Gorum, give me some luck tonight!"
1d20 ⇒ 14

Urgeon Porpentine |

Urgeon will quit while he's ahead. He cashes out his chips and then gathers up the others. "Let's find Garmen. It's time we have a private conversation with him."

Post Live session
The party, having fled from the alien tentacle beast, heals up and discusses the way forward. You discuss possible ranged tactical changes and options, but most of those would require a trip to town or perhaps a trade with Sef.
Razorend points out the cavern tunnel that ends in a wall that emits light ... but from no visible source.
Roll 20 updated with a few map tags
Action from here?

Urgeon Porpentine |

Is there any reason to go back and kill the beast? Is there a possibility it will come after us in the larger cave?
Let's take a closer look at the wall emitting the light. Urgreon will study the wall looking for any clue on the source of the light.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Urgeon Porpentine |

Urgeon casts mage armor on himself and loads his crossbow, "These metallic chambers remind me of the stories I've heard of Silver Mount."
Urgeon steps through into the room.

Ridic Slaranack |

Ridic is down more than half HPs still. Not sure where anyone else is, I missed the end of that session.
ridic will use more from the wand
Heal 1
1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Heal 2
1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
I thought you guys wanted to decide on how to handle ranged attacks? That is what I got from the boards.
