ROUND 4

Ac 14 HP 13 Fort +4 Ref +1 Will +5

I've got this one, take the singer, Boulderback!

Occa turns his back on Skorabor and tries to stab goblin 2 with his vegetable collection.

Standard. Attack goblin 2. Hit? 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 song included. Damage? 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 Song and whetstone included.

"Not in a mood for singin' anymore?" Skorabor scorns the warsinger as he pursues (5ft step to G9). The dwarf attacks again but once more his swing is two slow for the nimble goblin who evades easily (standard action to attack: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 1 + 1 - 1 = 13), damage 1d12 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 7 + 1 = 18).

"That's it!", the once proud fighter roars and throws his great axe to the ground, burying the blade deep in the dirt (free action to drop my great axe). "If that's how ye want it, fine by me. Let's see ye try and dance yer way out of this!" he continues while fiddleing with the cord that straps his dwarven waraxe to his belt (drawing my dwarven waraxe on my next turn).

Male Halfling Sea-Singer Bard 4 (AC: 17 [T: 14 /F: 14]; HP: 26/26; F+1, R+7, W+4; Init: +3; Perc: +9)

Durvin, antsy now that the goblin is swinging at him, decides to strike back at the thing. His throat starting to go hoarse, as he continues his mocking tribute. The goblin's miss urges Durvin in to the opening that exposed to it's side. Durvin strikes this with zeal. Seeing his blade strike true, he moves towards the bothersome chanter. "Not so confident in your song any more are you?" he taunts.

Durvin: That's how I ruled it with the warchanter's song. Everyone will benefit from it this round, basically, but next it'll be gone.

Stark's Will Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Hawkeye's shot goes wild, but Occa strikes true with his trident, piercing the goblin through his stomach. The goblin slumps over, obviously dying. Skorabor misses the quick warchanter and gets fed up, throwing his axe down. Meanwhile, Durvin finds an opening as the goblin begins to taunt him. His rapier makes short work of the thing. Stark, getting angry at the female goblin, starts to step forward but the cloudiness in his mind stops him in his tracks. He takes a moment to shake it off.

You were dazed for the round, unfortunately. Since you didn't make the roll, I went ahead and made it for you. I hope you don't mind (despite the low roll...)

Warchanter attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10

The warchanter futilely attempts to do some damage to the dwarf, but his armor is just too much for her. "If you think I'll run like a coward, you are mistaken!" The warchanter holds her ground against the onslaught.

Summary:
All four goblin pyros are now dead. The warchanter has taken 5 damage. Stark is no longer dazed and can now act again. His spellcraft check was not enough to reveal what spell it was.

Male Halfling Sea-Singer Bard 4 (AC: 17 [T: 14 /F: 14]; HP: 26/26; F+1, R+7, W+4; Init: +3; Perc: +9)

Durvin dances deftly around the hideous thing, a female he thinks ugggh, so as to leave an opening for either Hawkeye or Stark to have a clear shot without him in the way. Once behind the chanter, he strikes, finding an opening, but not quite getting the strike he had hoped for. He finally lets out the last of the song, with a cough, as his throat goes dry from trying to sing above the goblin chant for so long.

Round 5
Scrap this post if the goblin is already dead
"That's a good girl", Skorabor replies with a menicing smile. The leather cord becomes untangled and suddenly he stands facing the goblin with his trusty dwarven waraxe gripped tightly in his two hands (move action to draw my dwarven waraxe). With a fluid motion the weapon comes down on the warchanter who leaves little trace except for the squirt of blood that staines the dwarven fighters blonde beard (standard action to attack: 1d20 + 4 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (15) + 4 + 1 - 1 = 19 (+1 hatred, -1 power attack), damage 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17).

The warchanter goblin jumps out of the way of Occa's trident only to put herself directly in the path of Skorabor's blade and Durvin's rapier. She falls over without another sound.

Looking around you see a now empty square with a few wooden objects still burning. You notice dead goblins and a few dead citizens as well. Off in the distance you hear the sound of clanging swords and calls of support by what you assume is the town guard. You also hear the occasional shriek of a goblin, but the goblins have by and large stopped singing. The battle appears to be mostly over. That is until you hear a man let out a very loud shout for help followed by frantic barking coming from the north.

Finally Skorabor lands a hit, and a doozy at that! That damage roll would've been enough without the support of the rest of the group!

I may be unavailable for a little bit this weekend, but will be back in action for sure on Monday morning. We have another battle coming up and I still need to put together the map, so we may have to wait to start it until Monday.

"Nice hit! Let's go check out what that noise was.." Stark says, and he begins to go toward the sound of the barking.

Male Halfling Sea-Singer Bard 4 (AC: 17 [T: 14 /F: 14]; HP: 26/26; F+1, R+7, W+4; Init: +3; Perc: +9)

Durvin pauses just long enough to grab the whip dropped by the chanter, "I'm pretty sure I know how to use one of these, it seems simple enough." he muses to himself as he coils it up and starts heading toward the noise with Stark.

"No a moment to lose!"

Hawkeye races to the noise as well.

Skorabor looks at the goblin lying dead at his feet with approval. "Sorry to cut your song short", he says then fills the air with his own laughter at the joke. He looks to his companions. "Get it? Cut short!", he manages between bursts of laughter while moving to retrieve his great axe from the ground and strapping it to his back.

His laughter calms and finally stops about the same time as the cry for help is heard from the north. "Ah, there's more", Skorabor says with a smile and sets off to escort the last of the goblins from Sandpoint.

Casting Resistance on myself as we move. +1 all saves 1 min duration.

The party runs to the north, toward the direction of the scream and barking. It doesn't take long before they arrive at a rather nice looking inn. The sign identifies it as the White Deer. Immediately catching your eye is a goblin riding a strange doglike creature and wielding another odd, makeshift weapon. The weapon appears to be a halberd of some sort, seemingly made out of scrap metal like the dogslicers of before. In front of the commando is a dog looks to be a small terrier with a loud bark, the same dog you heard before.

The goblin is riding on a mangy animal that looks like a cross between a dog and a rat. The mangy dog's face has the flat nose, beady eyes, and protruding teeth of a rat grown grotesquely large. Tiny clawed forelimbs and a long, hairless pink tail add to its verminous appearance, and the smell of sun-baked sewage practically steams off its patchy fur. In fact, it is likely this "dog" may actually be a rodent of some kind.

DC11 Knowledge (Nature):
The mangy animal is a "Goblin Dog," a large rodent with canine features.

DC16 Knowledge (Nature):
Goblin Dogs are known to shed copious amounts of dander to which most creatures, other than goblinoids, are violently allergic to. People call the reaction to this dander "Goblin Rash."

The "Dog-Rat-thing"
Goblin Commando

And behind the goblin commander are four smaller goblins, all cowering at dog that is barking. Before you have a chance to act, the goblin commando brings his 'halberd' down, killing the poor dog. The rest of the goblins raise a cheer as the commando speaks loudly in his native language.

Goblin speakers only:
"Let it be known that I am the dogkiller! My horsechopper always strikes true!!"

You now see a man cowering behind some crates nearby, where the dog was killed. He is no longer screaming, but is now crying and crawling toward his pet. It is now obvious to you that the dog was trying to protect this man before it met its fate to the goblins nearby. The goblins, excited over their victory, now turn their attention to the man. There is nobody else in sight.

The Man

The goblins are distracted, which means you will have a surprise round before they can act. Initiative blocks will be determined below.

Initiative:
Durvin: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Hawkeye: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Occa: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Skorabor: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Stark: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Commando: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Goblins: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5

Roll-off, Durvin: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Roll-off, Commando: 1d20 ⇒ 5

Stark and Durvin are in Block A and act first. The commando on his mount act next. Then we have Hawkeye, Occa, and Skorabor in Block B. After them, the four goblins will act. For the surprise round, everyone may take their actions before I post. They will resolve with Durvin and Stark first, then the rest as if we were in block order.

Stark: I noticed your initiative still say +5, shouldn't that be +1 now since you swapped out for toughness?

Occa: Resistance still has 6 rounds left.

Hawkeye: Basically 4 rounds have passed (hence 6 rounds remaining for Occa's Resistance spell. So you were at 5/10 before, which means you are now at 9/10, with 1 round left. Also, epic crit, you straight up killed the darn thing! You didn't have point-blank shot (not that it mattered), but you would have if you stepped forward 5 feet.

Stark: Unfortunately a surprise round is only one action, so you cannot move and cast a spell. You are in the first group to act on the round, so you can move yourself into position and then cast it for the first round before the goblins move, if you'd like. Let me know what you want to do while we wait on Durvin and Skorabor.

Oops. I'll move into position first, then cast the spell on my next turn.

Skorabor's tugging and fixing his great axe to his back makes the dwarf arrive latest to the scene. With his gear in ordning he surveys the scene and wastes no time charging towards the biggest pack of goblin with his dwarven waraxe raised over his head. "For Clan Boulderback, for Stoneshire!", he bellows as he runs (move action to G15, they don't get an AoO since it's a surprise round, right?).

Thanks. I probably could have figured that out now that you mention it. I guess I wasn't thinking and didn't make that connection lol.

Durvin, arriving at the scene, gets a pep in his step as he decides to try out the new whip. Eagerly, he decides where he will take the fight. Just then a bolt whizzes by and strikes down the goblin's mount. Emboldened by the shot, durvin decides to disarm the now mountless rider. He moves closer, just within range to crack the whip at him. Hopefully, he can get the weapon out of its hands.

Mechanics:
Surprise and regular turn here. Surprise round move to G10. Start of 1st round, based on where the rider dismounted when the mount died, take a 5' step if necessary to stay at the 15' range. Then Standard to disarm (CMB + Whip Disarm + Bless) 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 (17 if I get to add weapon finesse to the roll)

Well, I don't have access to the map (or any tools to recreate it) at the moment, so we'll have to wait for that. In the meantime, I can tell you what happened so you can prepare for the next round.

Commando's Ride Check: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23

While the goblins are distracted, the party immediately springs into action. Stark steps into position, ready to cast a spell on the goblins and Durvin moves into position to disarm the commando. The goblins have now noticed the team, but it is already too late. An arrow comes flying through the air to strike the goblin dog in the head, killing it immediately and throwing the goblin off the animal. He lands softly on his feet and appears to be quite angry (and surprised). Occa calls on Gozreh to bless his companions and Skorabor moves into position to attack.

Durvin is at G10 currently and the commando is at E13 (which is 20 ft from Durvin). Stark has moved to I13 and Skorabor to G15 (which is unfortunately within Stark's spell range. For this reason, I'll let Stark and Durvin repost what they want to do.

Durvin: You can keep the previous roll if you still wish to disarm the goblin. I just need to know where you want to 5 ft. step.

Stark: Your spell will also hit Skorabor if you choose to cast it there. Let me know what you want to do.

Sorry I don't have a map for you. It'll have to wait until I get home tonight, around 6 or 7pm EST.

Male Halfling Sea-Singer Bard 4 (AC: 17 [T: 14 /F: 14]; HP: 26/26; F+1, R+7, W+4; Init: +3; Perc: +9)

I don't have the 15' reach from G10? If not then I will try to go to F10 or G11, whichever is farthest that I can still reach him. I would prefer not G11, since now I'm in reach for his halberd.

The first diagonal movement is 5' and the second is 10', so the furthest you could get from G10 with 15' reach is E12 or F13. If you step to F10, that will be fine.

Cast the spell anyway

Next round, Hawkeye will reload his crossbow and fire at the goblin with the halberd who lept off the dead goblin dog. I'll wait to roll and post specifics once the new map is up.

Goblin 3 Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Goblin 4 Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Durvin steps forward, whip in hand. With the snap of his wrist, the whip lances out and pulls the halberd-like weapon from the goblin commandos hands. Meanwhile, Stark's spell goes off and three of the four goblins he targeted begin to clutch their stomachs as if they are ready to throw up.

Having falling from his dead mount and lost his weapon all in the matter of seconds, the commando is quite disoriented and has forgotten entirely about man behind the crates. He picks up his weapon and moves toward Durvin, ready to strike at the bard.

According to James Jacobs on the forums here, whips do benefit from Weapon Finesse (which is what I would've ruled anyway). Hawkeye, Skorabor, and Occa are up. Skorabor, please make a DC 15 fortitude save to avoid being sickened by Stark's spell.

Summary:
Goblins 1, 2 and 4 are sickened. The commando has picked up his weapon and has taken no damage as of yet.

Occa carefully moves into position to help Durvin against the commando. He deftly avoids a strike by the commando. The commando then ducks under a crossbow bolt shot by Hawkeye. Meanwhile, Skorabor has sliced a goblin in two and then moved into position to start taking down the remaining "diseased" goblins.

Goblin attacks:
Goblin 1: 1d20 + 2 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 + 2 - 2 = 16 (+2 flank, -2 sickened)

The three sickened goblins attempt to aid each other in bringing down the dwarf, who has already killed one of their compatriots. The first manages to strike true, slashing Skorabor across the arm and drawing some blood. The other two goblins make half-hearted attempts to slice Skorabor, but are preoccupied with queasiness.

Summary:
Goblin 3 is now dead. Goblins 1, 2 and 4 remain sickened until Block A's turn. Skorabor takes 4 damage. The man is still cowering. It is now Durvin and Stark's turn.

Die, Dog, Die! (Round 2A)

Durvin draws his rapier, a weapon he is more comfortable with and takes a few stabs at the Commando. Unfortunately, the commando's armor and agility make things difficult, and the rapier does not strike true. Stark, on the other hand, has grown claws and taken a swipe at one of the goblins, easily managing to scratch up the goblins back while it was distracted with the Dwarf.

"You." He hoists the crossbow to his shoulder.
"Will." He takes a quick aim at the head of the goblin leader.
"Pay." He pulls the trigger.

Attack1d20 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 2 + 1 - 4 = 12
Damage1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

His shot presumably misses again. Hawkeye is getting mad.

"I NEED WHISPERTALON."

Resistance (Occa) 4 rounds remain
Bless 8 rounds remain.

Actions::

Hit? Flank and bless included1d20 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 1 + 2 = 20 Damage? 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

"Lightning take you puppy killer." Occa's voice is grim as the sharp points of his trident seek the gaps in the goblins armor.

Die, Dog, Die! (Round 2B)

Goblin attacks:
Goblin 2 attack: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 + 2 = 19 (flanking)
Goblin 2 damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Goblin 4 attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Gobline 4 damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Skorabor and Occa's strikes are true, while Hawkeye's inexperience with the crossbow is starting to show, another shot going wide. The two goblin peons that are left each concentrate on a different target. One attacks Skorabor, who has now taken out two of its allies, and the other Stark who has managed to surprise it with a nasty scratch to his back. Both goblins strike true, giving the companions a rather nasty laceration.

Summary:
Skorabor takes 4 damage and Stark takes 2 damage.

Commando: HP: 14/19, AC: 18
Goblin 2: HP: 6/6, AC: 16
Goblin 4: HP: 2/6, AC: 16

It is now Durvin and Stark's turn again.

Die, Dog, Die! (Round 2B)

Rolls:

5' step to flanking position with goblin 4.

Attack 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 + 2 = 22 flanking
Damage 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Stark steps to get a better tactical advantage against the goblin at Skora's back. "It's okay, Skora. I can handle it." And swipes at the goblin once more.

Posting my action before i go to bed. Since Durvin and the commando is engaged with eachother in combat they will probably not affect my turn.

Round 3
"These rats are everywhere", Skorabor grunts as another slash draws blood as he's distracted. Unfortunately for his attacker he sees the second swing coming an deftly ducks under the blade and twists his whole body to bring his axe around for a counterblow. The flat of the blade catches the goblin unawares and there's a wet thud as the poor things skull gives away to the dwarven steel (1d20 ⇒ 20, damage 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11, Crit confirm: 1d20 + 4 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 1 - 1 = 13, Crit damage: 2d10 + 14 ⇒ (1, 5) + 14 = 20).

Skorabor looks at his axe with a grin on his face then holds it up in triumph. "Look Durvin! Art", he calls out with a bellowing laugh to the halfling and points to the bloody imprint the goblin's face left on his axe. "Oh, you still have one left", the dwarven warrior murmurs and sets of to engage the last standing goblin (Move action to E12).

Damn, another foiled crit >.< I looked forward of putting the goblin at -25 hit points

The third time's the charm!

Once again he takes aim at he commando and fires his borrowed crossbow.
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

In Hawkeye's frustration he dry-fires the crossbow and is furious. He seriously contemplates dropping it and returning to melee when he recalls the pain of the goblin's blades in his legs.

Perhaps it is best I stay back...

Male Halfling Sea-Singer Bard 4 (AC: 17 [T: 14 /F: 14]; HP: 26/26; F+1, R+7, W+4; Init: +3; Perc: +9)

Durvin is beginning to regret getting involved. His throat is hoarse, his arm is tired, and this tough goblin just won't drop. He reluctanly stabs again, hoping that if this doesn't work, maybe Occa will take him out. Luckily, his swing just manages to connect enough to draw a trickle of blood.

Mechanics:
Attack 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18, damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Durvin, surprised by Skora's newfound joviality, can't help but laugh at the dwarf's sense of humor. He notes that Skora's mood greatly improves the more goblins he drops.
