Harbek Toruun |

Harbek hurls one of his hammers at the bird lizard closest to the cliffs as they settle down to pick at the goat.

15 Dimorph 2
12 St John
12 Chikura
12 Celine
10 Felix
10 Dimorph 4
8 Dimorph 1
7 Dimorph5
7 Mikail
As a pair of the dimorphs settles to pick at the goat carcass used as bait, Harbek flings his hammer at the nearest, but his aim is off and the thrown weapons sails past the hungry carnivores, alerting them to the presence of foes.
St John's bow twangs at nearly the same instant, and his projectile has more success striking the leftmost creature in the breast, the arrow sinking deep into the flesh below the leathery skin.
Chikura spends the pre-attack time readying a spell that he hopes will give Felix better luck in the fight ahead.
Meanwhile Celine calls down the blessing of her patron moon-goddess, bringing an advantage to all her nearby allies in the coming fight.
Felix you have some action in the surprise round? Time to post it, if so. Thanks for your patience.

DM DoctorEvil |

Dino Birds Again - Surprise Round - concluded
Still unclear that their brethren are under attack, the other dinomorphs circle inwards towards the goat carcass.
Firing his sling at the nearby birds, Mikail's aim is also off and his stone flies short of the target, missing badly.
End of Surprise Round

***Bless Active***
Harbek is up to start the real first round. Regular round rules (moe and standard action) now apply. Don't forget your buff if necessary. Only birds 2 and 3 (nearest the goat carcass) are on the ground for now, the others are still in the air out of melee range.

DM DoctorEvil |

Dino Birds Again - Round 1 - continued
Trying to close the distance to the flying lizards, Harbek runs forward as quickly as his stubby legs will carry him. He launches another throwing hammer on the run, but the aim is again off and it clatters on the beach shingle harmlessly.
Now understanding they are under attack, the wounded bird takes to the wing, flying directly at the nearest attacker and making a swooping bite attack, which Harbek just does fight off.
The other nearby carnivore screeches in anger and makes a beeline, targeting St John. The swordsman relies on his armor to protect him as the jaws close on this arm, but he the steel holds off the teeth for now, and St John is unharmed.
Dimorph 2 bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Dimorph 3 bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
St John, Chikura, Celine, and Felix are all up now for the group. Don't forget Bless is an active buff.

DM DoctorEvil |

Dino Birds Again - Round 1 - continued
Dropping his bow and attacking with his usual weapon, St John scores a hit on the attacking bird, cutting a small wound in its abdomen.
Firing at one of the darting birds, Chikura's shot with his crossbow sails wide, missing everything.
With the luck of Chikura and the blessing of Siavanah behind him, Felix launches himself at the nearest bird, skewering one of the birds on his pike but not quite killing it.
Dimorph 4 dives down at the charging Felix, trying to unsuccessfully to snap him with its mighty jaws.
The last dinosaur flies closer to the action, but doesn't actually engage anyone in combat as of yet.
Dimorph 4 Bite, charging AC: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Mikail is up next to end the round

Mikail Ruben |

"I will put to sleep all the creatures in a area, form a wall, don't intermingle with the beasts or you will risk to be hit by the spell."
Mikail start casting Sleep.

Harbek Toruun |

Harbek takes his Greataxe in both hands and swings at the diamorph that just tried to gnaw through his armour.
Attack w Combat expertise: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 1 = 23
Damage! : 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Then he steps back, heading Mikail's call.
I'm Provoking an AoO if my blow doesn't dispatch the diamorph.
AC: 18

DM DoctorEvil |

Dino Birds Again - Round 2 - continued
Harbek counterattacks the bird that was striking at him. The greataxe whistles through the air and makes solid contact with the thick-skinned lizard. The blow is powerful enough to cut through flesh and bone and the bird collapses to the ground dead. Heeding the warning of Mikail, the sturdy dwarf steps back from the area of effect.
The bird attacking St. John strikes again, trying to drive its beak into the swordsman. Again the Taldan man's armor proves fine enough to protect him from the aerial assault.
St John, Chikura, Celine and Felix are now up for the good guys.
Dimorph 3 bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

St. John Smythe |

"Good job Harbek! Let's see if I can match you!", St. John calls out and then attacks the bird in from of him, missing wildly as a rock catches his foot. He then backs up.
Falcata: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

DM DoctorEvil |

Felix, is that natural 20 a crit threat? Want to see if you confirm and do more damage? Least you can do after St John's nat 1...
Dino Birds Again - Round 2 - continued
Swinging with his falcata as he backs out of the Sleep spell range, St John fails to connect with the dinosaur that has been assaulting him.
Felix however continues to be aggressive, and strikes the bird near him, opening a bleeding wound in its flank.
Taking a shot at the bird furthest west, Chikura's second shot scores a hit, wounding another target.
Chikura crossbow: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Dmg #1: 1d8 ⇒ 8
Celine is still up for the good guys, will DM-PC if we don't see her post soon.

DM DoctorEvil |

Dino Birds Again - Round 2 - continued
After calling down the blessing of the moon goddess last round, Celine digs for her sling and loads it, ready to lob a bullet at the flying foes should the need arise.
The forceful stab by Felix is luckier than he intended, and strikes a major artery inside the reptilian flyer. As blood gushes out everywhere, the bird drops to the ground stone dead.
As all the rest of his allies retreated a bit, Felix is stuck out on the front line, exposed. As a result, both birds dive at him, trying to trap their prey between them. As the first flier garners the half-orc's attention, the second ravages him from the flank, driving his sharp beak into exposed flesh for 8hp dmg.
Felix also needs a DC 12 Fort save vs Poison. Finally, the action is back down to Mikail's spell casting. Show us the AoE.
Dimorph 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Dimorph 5, flanking: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 3 + 2 = 22
Dmg, Felix: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
BTW, my tracker shows Felix with only 1 hp left BEFORE that hit. Did I miss a healing somewhere, or is my favorite orc just really not that lucky?

Mikail Ruben |

That is a major question with a sleep coming. I will wait to take my turn until I know the reply.

Ookay, Mikail at the rescue ;-)
Just before the start of his turn Mikail complete his sleep spell and place its center on the SE corner of Felix square. The 2 dino bird will have to save vs DC 14, Felix will be unaffected as he is unconscious.
Then he cast Cure light wound and move near Felix, touching him and healing

the minimum value possible.

DM DoctorEvil |

Dino Birds Again - Round 2 - concluded
Finishing up the incantations for his sleep-inducing spell, Mikail sees one of the birds fall to ground fast asleep. The other seems a bit more resistant and manages to keep in the air.
Rushing forward to the side of the fallen Felix, the bard tries is best healing magic to restore him. While the spell does stabilize Felix, it does not fully revive him from his wounded state.
End of Round 2
Dimorph 1 DC 14 Will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Dimorph 5 DC 14 Will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17

Harbek Toruun |

Harbek dashes forward to Felix's side and swings at the diamorph there but his axe sails through only air.
Attack w/ combat expertise / bless: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 = 7

I'm unable to update the map right now but I would be in the square above Felix. I'll update it asap

DM DoctorEvil |

Dino Birds Again - Round 3 - continued
Rushing forward to protect his fallen teammate, Harbek swings his axe at one of the remaining lizard birds, but only finds air with his swing.
Using a bit less power and a bit more finesse, St John drives his dueling falcata into the sternum of the remaining bird, injuring it but not killing it.
From the rear, Chikura fires his crossbow once more at the bird in combat with St John. The tribesman scores a hit again, but the winged menace stays in the fight.
Chikura Xbow, into melee: 1d20 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 1 - 4 = 15
Dmg, xbow: 1d8 ⇒ 3
Need an action from Celine to keep the round moving.

Celine Moonveil |

Seeing her companion still seriously wounded, Celine prays for her Lady's healing power and moves toward Felix.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
I'm not sure if Celine is close enough to make it to Felix this round.

DM DoctorEvil |

Dino Birds Again - Round 3 - continued
Celine moves nearer to the fallen Felix, but cannot close the distance to deliver the healing spell to the orc until next round.
Dimorph 4 bites at St John trying to defend itself against his persistent attacks. The jaws fail to hit the swordsman, and the lizard flies off a short distance trying to recuperate.
Nearby, the other remaining bird bites Harbek for 6 hp dmg, driving an injection of poison into the barbarian at the same time.
Harbek needs a save vs poison and Mikail is up against the remaining birds to end the round.
Dimorph 4 bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Dimorph 5 bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Dimorph 5, crit confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Dimorph 5 dmg, Harbek: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Mikail Ruben |

Mikail draw his rapier and try a lunge against the nearest dimorph.

critical confirmation: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
critical added damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Next time, check the map before acting. So I have attacked the sleeping dimorph
5' step to the SE.

DM DoctorEvil |

Dino Birds Again - Round 3 - concluded
After putting one creature to sleep, and providing stabilization to the fallen Felix, Mikail goes on the offensive drawing his rapier, and stabbing at the nearest flier. His lunge is powerful enough to skewer the lizard like bird and it falls stone dead to the ground.

End of Round 3
I would like to be able to do that, but my BAB is +0, I can't draw while I am moving, so I am able to attack only the sleeping dimorph. I had already taken my 5' step

Harbek Toruun |

Fort save+2 vs poison: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 5 + 2 = 18
Harbek continues to swing his axe changing into a more aggressive stance, while his Dwarven blood resists the poison burning through his vains!

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
1d12 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
not sure which Diamorphs are still up? So I'll just attack the nearest conscious one...

Celine Moonveil |

Celine gently touches Felix, delivering the healing spell.
8 hps cured
"There my friend, all better. Now lay down and let your friends take care of the rest!"
Activating Copycat as a move action, single mirror image for one round Celine conjures a copy of herself to confound the enemy.

DM DoctorEvil |

Dino Birds Again - Round 4 - continued
Harbek rushes to the next live flyer and strikes out with his axe, giving this last creature its initial wound.
After finishing off his foe, St John strides with purpose to the place where the sleep enchantment brought down one of the lizard. He holds his falcata ready to strike a death blow.
Moving up from the back of the pack, the Mwangi shaman readies to fire another crossbow bolt should the last dimorphodon survive that long.
Delivering her healing spell finally, Celine is satisfied when Felix begins to stir and rejoin the living rather than hovering near the land of the dead. After delivering the spell, she initiates a power that creates an exact duplicate of herself, trying to confound the last foe.
Felix, for his part, begins to stir, first sitting, then standing up, almost ready to rock and roll again.
With only one foe close enough to try to bite, the last dimorphodon looks to take a chunk out of Harbek but while the creature's mighty jaws clamp down on his arm, Harbek's scale mail armor prevents any injury.
Dimorph bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Felix is back active with 1hp showing. Mikail, I am going to allow the kill of the bird last round just to move this fight along. You act after the last lizard does.

DM DoctorEvil |

Thought I posted for you guys, but it didn't take apparently, sorry for the delay.
Dino Birds Again - Round 4 - concluded
Sliding back over, Mikail uses his rapier to skewer the sleeping bird, but instead of killing it, he only succeeds in waking it up.
