Um . . . have you played with this DM before? Saying we should poke him, is sort of like saying we should take a quick dip in an acid bath or pool of lava, or keep a rabid wolverine as a pet.

I have, a bit. Poking, in this case, means reminding him what we're trying to do, not needlessly challenging him.

Remember, I am pretty sure that in RL, DM is an attorney. If there is a way to interpret a statement to create an ambiguity, he will undoubtedly do so in a manner adverse to the speaker. "Poking" could easily be interpreted as "summoning Asmodeus with a fork and impaling you with it." . . . Just saying.

You did a pretty good job of spanking the ambush by Tiadora. Tiadora ended up with the IQ of a newt and Jax buzzsawed through a bunch of Erynies. I think that broke the DM. ;)

I'd forgotten about that. Yeh, the Judge did a great job of ticking off Tiadora. When it came to self centered jerks, I think the Judge took first place every time. . . . Of course with AC43, 231hp, and F+28,R+29,W+26, and Fast Healing +5, and an ego so high it could not be measured, he didn't care if people considered him a jerk. And he had dominated thralls to deal with anyone who considered him so.

Heh. Meanwhile, a quick rules question. Yordan has failed the Will save for this round to make himself go into danger by enough that he is cowering this round. But could he, say, shoot at the creatures, or throw something at them, without getting into hand to hand range?
Obviously this would have to be in a round when he failed the save, but not by enough to drive him into cowering.

If you can chase after the monster that fled and get to it before Mrakala (or make it clear what you're doing and have him delay) then the debuff from your stare would be appreciated. It debuffs saves, right?

Well, thanks to the worst snowstorm to hit Istanbul in ten years, the kids and I are trapped between connecting flights.
We did get to see the Blue Mosque today, so that's a thing.

Just got in this morning. More anon.
On one hand, stuck five days in a strange city with three kids and no luggage.
On the other hand, history-nerd the f+&# out. Middle boy inherited the nerd gene, so he was rocking it too. You can walk the grounds of the old Hippodrome. It's just park now, by the Blue Mosque -- the building and track are long gone -- but the hieroglyph-covered column that Constantine took from the Temple of Karnak is still there, as is the bronze column of intertwined serpents that (legend says) the Greeks cast out of bronze swords, armor and shields that they melted down from captured stuff after defeating the Persians.
