One heavy hoof comes down on the last skeleton and forcibly deanimates it.
Out of combat!
The glints on the floor prove to be broken glass. The body is that of a male dhampir in robes, who appears to have been killed by the skeletons. A search of his body turns up something of a to-do list, detailing his plan to create an army of undead from the "fish-people" who come to the spring. He wears a pair of bracers and an amulet, both of which detect as magic (I'm assuming that Lo'Rai and/or Simon will check, and try to identify them). They are, respectively, bracers of armor +1 and an amulet of natural armor +1.

"What did this fool do, make some minions and then die by their hands?"
Ishingka takes the amulet gratefully and loops it around her not-so slender neck. "Why Simon, you give the nicest gifts. Does it make me look fetching?" Ishingka places a hand on her hip, bats her eyelashes and strikes a pose that is actually somewhat decent for a tall, muscled warrior with a foul mouth. She holds it for a few breaths, and then bursts out laughing.
She grows more serious after a moment. "We'll have to tell our friend back at miniature Absalom. At least his compatriots' souls were far gone before their bodies were desecrated, Sinashakti be praised."

"So it would appear." Xukong probes the dead dhampir's body with its sword, cutting it open to examine its internal organs before standing back up with a stiff jerking motion. "What interests me more is the fact that he thought he could create a full army from gillman pilgrims...which would have to mean heavy traffic here...and yet, nothing to stop newcomers from being warned of the fate of the old. All very ambitious for such an ineffective necromancer."

Simon shrugs, "Hey, plans go wrong sometimes ... who knows what he might have had in mind. It might have been a really sound idea that just didn't quite work out." He looks at he body and the destroyed undead, "Still, lessons to be learned."
Simon grins up at Ishingka, "I don't know that fetching goes quite far enough."
Then the young mage begins giving the room a thorough investigation, looking for anything else there is to see.

"I'll go, and Yarricki, bring Buzz, so that he can fly around anything we encounter. A surrounded enemy is my favorite, heroic anecdotes notwithstanding."
Ishingka advances warily, alert for further attacks. She thinks she hears something cutting through the background noise of dripping water...a faint, high-pitched voice, far in the distance, interrupted by a deep bellow of rage.
The sounds grow louder as she continues up the narrow tunnel, the rest of the party following along. A vagary of acoustics suddenly makes the voice much clearer--"As the legendary Gregaro Voth successfully battled the wild beasts of the Mwangi Expanse, so shall I defeat you, foul servant of Lamashtu!" It sounds rather like Janira.
The party hustles along, trying to reach their mentor before the minotaur. Ishingka is in the lead, closely followed by Ronan on Barley, with the rest of you trailing behind. In their hurry, though, everyone except Simon fails to notice something of considerable interest until it's too late...and Simon's in no position to warn Ishingka.
Oops, misread the monster description. Ishingka still gets a save, but it's a different one (and she made it).
The bloodrager walks into something unseen that fills the tunnel in front of her, and is engulfed by it. Its corrosive secretions burn her flesh for 4 HP of acid damage, but although they carry a disquieting numbness she can still act. Ishingka is also pinned, and is unable to breathe.
Simon, you can act in the surprise round before the enemy does. It's a little hard to see anything up there, though.

The jarring screech of sharp-edged metal on stone comes from down the street, getting louder as it gets closer, then abruptly stops as it reaches the door. Exactly six raps on the door are heard, then a moment of silence before the door is finally opened, and in walks a profoundly disquieting individual: Sinuous muscles can be seen beneath marble-white skin, its movements are rigid, odd, and punctuated by the occasional small spasm, and its sex is impossible to determine for sure, for in addition to its functional yet decorative attire, it wears a stunning metal-and-cloth full mask that reveals only the wearer's eyes: two stark white almonds, as cold and bright as distant stars. Its right arm hangs rather limply over a small hexagonal spellbook and a red coral wand carved into a pitchfork shape, and its left arm rests on the hilt of a massive sword that has clearly enjoyed a fresh sharpening courtesy of the cobblestones outside. It acknowledges Lo'Rai with a sudden, jerky bow, flashes its Sign of the Open Road, then takes a seat next to an end table and begins playing solitaire with a deck of fine carved ivory cards.

Hey, let's not preemptively judge. I'm still trying to figure out how Xukong sounds, actually; I guess I don't think quite that extensively about voices. As for who'd play it, I guess it wouldn't be any actor I can actually name (I'm actually an actor myself, but I'm more than a little out of practice due to a drought of opportunities, and am now trying to hammer out the deep and unsightly dents in my head from years stuck in gaming environments where creative play was actively discouraged). Maybe it would be done by one of the more state-of-the-art speech synthesizers.
Xukong looks up from its cards.
"Your question puzzles me," It says in a voice like the wind. "Just as you received an invitation, so did I. The Society is appreciably meticulous about such things."
An explicit invitation will be forthcoming, once I have time. Today was supposed to be a day for me to travel, but I've spent most of the morning dealing with work stuff. The joys of email on your phone....
Incidentally, Xukong, one of the people I game with on occasion used to play in a GURPS campaign run by the late John M. Ford and set in the world of Ford's novel The Dragon, Waiting. Apparently most of the players were theater people, so it was quite heavy on the high-quality RP.

Zuko has a laid-back "bad boy/cool guy" sound to him that I wouldn't have put on Simon. Simon is too much of a nerd who believes he can out-smart any opponent or problem. He's pretty much only a 'cool guy' in his own head, though he is out to convince everyone else that's the case.

Ha! Geez, I hope not.

Actually, that's how I came up with this concept in the first place (well, not Gilderoy Lockhard, but starting at the grown-up version). Not that it's all that original of a concept.
I was reading the forums, shaking my head at some of the self-assured, immature, self-important posts (which I'm sure belonged to nobody in this thread), and I realized that this was the kind of person who wants to grow up to be a campaign's BBEG.
thats when it hit me ... i desperately need to play the guy who's got the potential to grow up to be a BBEG mega-caster. It's why Simon (such a common-sounding name) has the last name Zoraelius (which just sounds "powerful-wizard-y")

I hope I don't cross a line with this train of thought/behind-the-scenes post.
When I had originally made Lo'Rai, I was gonna place her under a specific category that publishers for Pathfinder had done for all of the Iconics. In order to appeal to more people, they made all of the Iconics bisexual(ironically, the wizard's backstory makes such a claim questionable since he doesn't have a family and he hates the gods). They also stated that Merisiel, the rogue, is actually more inclined toward women.
I had planned to make Lo'Rai gay and make her ever so subtly swoon for the female in the party with the highest Cha. Incidentally, that would be Ishingka. However, Simon is making this kinda difficult, and now I'm thinking she's just bisexual with lesbian tendencies.
Again, I hope this train of thought hasn't offended anyone.
For Ishingka:
And personally, I like the tusks and green skin.
For Simon:
Lo'Rai is also 9 years older than Simon, just a heads up.
