This says he doesn't have or want ties to anyone or anything apart from himself, so that in turn implies he wouldn't want a relationship with anyone.

I hope this clears things up just a touch.

I see - kind of a stretch, though. Innate sexual orientation and desire to have a relationship are different things. Regardless, I didn't mean to make a mountain out of a molehill.

Romance can be a fun component to these stories, but we also always want to be considerate of other players' sensitivities to different types of attention.

As far as Simon goes, what sixteen year old boy wouldn't love the attention of an older girl? Unfortunately, he's also a sixteen year old boy ... so you can guess what his interest in long-term relationships is. :D

Sorry for the slow start...I'm winding down a From Shore to Sea PbP atm, and I thought it would be done sooner. The PCs managed to take <redacted> by surprise and drop him, but they just found the <redacted> and aren't sure how to attack it.

In addition to pondering its spellbook, Xukong spends several minutes honing its sword with its whetstone, as well as its javelins.

This will give them all +1 damage on their next strike. I admit I admit I'm not sure whether I can actually apply my whetstone to my javelins, but when I played Pathfinder Society in person, I knew people who used it to sharpen their every arrow.

Hmm, I wouldn't call an arrow or javelin a 'blade':

A whetstone allows you to sharpen a blade by sliding it against the stone at a precise angle. Honing a blade with a whetstone requires about 15 minutes of work and grants the weapon a +1 bonus on your damage roll the first time you hit with it. This only works on nonmagical blades.

Like I said, I'm basing this on what I've seen people I've played with in previous games do (with the awareness of the DM), but it would not surprise me if they were being cheesemongers.

On the other hand, I could see it for at least some throwing weapons (darts no, throwing axes and chakrams yes, but javelins?).

Arrows have blades and benefit from sharpening--I'll have to ask about this with my bard next time. Javelins are a point, though, not a blade.

I had this nice post about how Lo'Rai would be facinated by the fact that Xukong's Mage Armor has a black coloration to it when hers has always had more of a purple coloration.

Yes, yes it can. Since it's a 1st lvl spell, it'll cost 50gp.

Now's the question of who gets the cloak for now. Nobody's saving throws are terrible, but if you go by the sum of the three modifiers, Ronan's and mine are tied for poorest showing out of all of us, although our non-negative saves are both decent. Lo'Rai and Simon's are unexceptional, but with no 0s or penalties, and Ishingka and Yarriki's are strictly the best, so that takes them out of the running to my way of thinking.

That's because I built Ishingka for good saves. ;)

I'll be on vacation from 6/3-6/7. It will be hard to post most of those days, but I'll try. Ishingka will rage and either claw/claw/bite or smash with hammer, and make smart quips. She'll save Mage Armor and Enlarge Person for the boss fight :)

As I said above, I'm going to be on vacation for the next couple of weeks, and for at least part of that time will be in a part of the country with inconsistent cell service. I'll try to keep things moving, but it might be chancy.

I haven't had a lot of time to post, but we'll probably be stuck in the hotel tonight. I'll try to get more up then.

Soon; I had a wedding to go to out of town this weekend, and my Internet access has been spotty.

You haven't seen me around for some time for which I apologize. Some three weeks ago my computer broke down and it took about a week to get it repaired.

In that time I also experienced that I had too much on my plate and instead of being honest about that to myself (and you) I dropped the ball and did not resume posting when the technical issues were sorted out. I felt obliged to get back to you, but that became harder with every passing day. I finally have found the courage to get back to the Paizo site.

I have had a lot of fun playing in all the PbP's I have been in, but I feel that I need to take a step back and stop playing online for the time being. It might be that when my work and personal life willl settle down again that I will be back, but I feel I should not promise to posting regularly right now.

Can we puppeteer you for the remainder of the adventure? I'd rather not lose our (or everyone else's, more aptly) nominal healer in the middle of the adventure.

If this weren't a PFS game, there'd be no question in my mind--I'd say OK. Conversely, if this were a tabletop PFS game, there'd be no question in my mind--I'd say no. PbP is enough of another animal, though, that I'm good with letting the party 'bot Yarricki--esp. since you're well into the scenario and this is an evergreen.

Also (speaking of overcommitting), if I'd been actually able to move this forward more than intermittently for the past 2+ weeks I expect I would have noticed Yarricki's absence sooner. Good luck getting things together.

What happens next? Xukong doesn't have any paints, so I'm hoping somebody else can pull off the ritual of the Artist (the closest thing I've got is my masterwork metalworker's kit - I don't know, maybe you'll let me roll for a chance I've got some colorful metal dust in there to work with?)

It's not critical to do all of the rituals. I'll have a chance to get something more up later today; was traveling most of yesterday, and today is a big meeting day at work.

ETA: Knowledge (Nature) would be helpful in this instance, if you're looking for natural pigments in the area.

Incidentally, I'm especially keen to achieve a few more levels than I've presently got for this character (as well as my Wayang Bard, whose experience level is comparable), and this online outfit is presently my only place to go for Pathfinder Society. Hence, if any of you can alert me to other low-level adventures as they come in the near future, I'd appreciate it!

Just checking, Simon: Was that my wand you meant to be using? I'd meant it to be on me and specifically for me, since positive energy hurts me and I'm not as easy to heal as most. We've still got a lot of those cure light wounds potions from that "care package" we were given, right?
