Got that right--I had a newbie DEX/Scorpion Style monk show up in a Core Godsmouth Heresy game I ran last year; it's a build that's useless against zombies, and they're all over that module. When you only do a d6, DR 5/slashing is going to make you feel pretty useless. OTOH, skellies go down like nothing.

Once the party is fully healed, you form up in front of the door. Asvald opens it and sees a large chamber dominated by a pool of glowing green liquid. (Although you can't tell at the moment, once you get into the room you'll find that the pool reeks of rotting meat.) Long, metallic tentacles hanging from the ceiling writhe around the edge of the pool, like snakes searching for prey. There is a humanoid pile of junk in the southeast corner.

Nothing will happen until you enter the room.

Asvald hacks repeatedly at the swarm of constructs covering him, his blade striking true every time. The small size of the components and their obdurate nature robs his blows of their full effect, though, and the swarm continues to function.

Senja looses another hex at the enemy (evil eye; -2 to AC) and cackles to maintain the misfortune plaguing it. Its defenses weakened by the curse of unluck, it's unable to resist the witch's evil eye.

Eva chops mightily at the discorporate swarm and hits it repeatedly, but only her first blow does any damage.

At least, I think that's the case...it's a Tiny swarm, so it takes half damage from slashing and piercing weapons, and then it's got DR 5/adamantine on top of that.

It crawls forward, covering Torque in addition to the other two and nibbling away at the trio. Everyone except Senja takes 12 HP.

Eva pauses her assault long enough to throw a grimace back at Senja, then roll her eyes at Asvald. "Just use adamantine, he says! As if we're all running around with a stockpile of adamantine weaponry!"

She gives Asvald a friendly grin out of Senja's line of sight, then turns back to the task at hand. Should probably be punching it, but is there any indication (to Eva) that'd be a better approach?
