The winter portal has closed, but the heroes now find themselves trapped in the frozen land of Irrisen with an urgent quest—to find Baba Yaga! In order to track down the missing Queen of Witches, the heroes must brave the monster-infested capital city of Whitethrone, where Baba Yaga’s Dancing Hut has been captured and put on display. Will possession of the miraculous artifact lead them to the Witch Queen, or will they die a cold death at the hands of Irrisen’s White Witches?

yeah, it didn't edit it. it re-posted it somehow. n since it counted it as different post, it re-rolled everything. i've seen it hiccup sometimes like that before. its not very common. i saw the first post, so i saw the 20 and the 17 confirmation. and the high-is-good roll.

The five guards swarm around him and assist as two land solid blows on him and Gondork goes down, though he doesn't seem too badly injured. the sixth guard (light red) moves around the table, drawing his sword and shield as he joins his fellows. (-8), (-8). gondork falls at -2hp

"ice sheets! Gondork!" nadya exclaims, crouching down to avoid light-blue's swing, and dragging the heavy half orc in full plate back out of the frey.

"Enbiggen me Giacomo! move into the garden so you can channel into the corridor and not hit the guards! " Caladan shouts back

gm: wait what, you can? you got a trait like Giacomo? i've been deducting -4 cover on some of your shots due to friendly soft cover interfering with the ranged attacks. do you have a mechanic to avoid this? if you do i'm sooo sorry i missed it on your sheet.

fyi, nadya seems finesse based as well. obvserving her she strikes with Weapon Finesse training.

(-9) G4. he drops. pivoting n shooting light blue, it chinks into the remains of the ice statue missing.

light blue attacks caladan, guard1 steps up, setting caladan off balance. Black steps up carefully over guard4's gasping body to attack, slashing over caladan's defenses, close to his neck. Green rushes in, caladan swings but misses, but so does green. Light red advances, provoking from Nadya, who reflexively brings her axe down , but he steps ahead of it, and it slices down his jaw instead of shearing his ear off and into his jugular. Light red pivots and sinks his sword into caladan's back in flank, he shifts and it doesn't land square on his breastplate. (black: -6dmg to caladan) (nadya: -4dmg to light red)

Nadya shifts into flank herself, but her still shaking hands don't help her land any direct hits to red, but does ger her out of the way for Arwyn to shoot if she steps back.

Oh, sorry no. I was thinking of a feat I don't have yet. Apply cover as usual.

Green takes two arrows to the chest and collapses, Caladan crushes light red, and Giacomo channels, avoiding those he needs to.

Gondork you can tell things are going better, you had woken up on the ground, felt yourself being dragged around but not overly-harmfully. And you can feel Giacomo's waves of healing burst over you again. A series of taps on the forearm, and you think its ten-penny who'se got you.

the guards advance, trying to close and take caladan down, loosing formation again, one steps past and gets whacked by caladan, only to take an arrow to the face a step later and go down, the other two don't fare that much better.

In the wake of things up here, as you're helping Gondork up, Nadya and Giacomo realize: Hatch! You check downstairs, it does seem like someone came in from outside, you scour the place and find hatch's ... unconscious ? body on the floor. Setting gondork down by the fountain, you check the tracks in the snow outside, the storm still black and swirling overhead, blotting out the stars, a truly black night for elves even, heavy snow falling with numbing speed and survey the area

I'm tempted to blow my last Cure through him, but let's see what's happened to him first.
I feel sorta bad for resting up before the boss fight. Do you think we stand a reasonable chance with our current resources? I have one channel and a Cure left.
Also, do we get double XP for defeating those guys twice? >_> And what are we going to do with them? I know we can't trust them to sit quietly, but executing them feels harsh as well.

yeah, out of initiative. figured you'd check on Hatch first. if you wanna check bodies upstairs and then join downstairs you can split up for a few minutes. either way you all end up downstairs.

heal check determines hatch is definitely dead. looks like they broke in and jairess and volan overpowered him, then healed up the injured.

any other healing you guys want? most are at or near full. i've been bad keeping track today but i think caladan has two more spells, he could cast another heal on gondork. you have a few minutes to rest after the last combat.

it was an exhausting combat, and in the aftermath you realize they must have another way to get around, but now there's only you and whoever's in charge of the tower, this Radosek, if Mig is right and Nazhena isn't here right now.

As Nadya and Giacomo race down to see if Hatch is okay, Ten-Penny turns to Caladan and Gondork.

"Listen, I know Giacomo does not want to shed any more blood then necessary... But if we keep these guys alive... Well, I'm not up for round three. I'm gonna finish the job and make sure they don't stand up anymore while Giacomo is downstairs. We just say that we no longer could save them from bleeding out, and Giacomo does not have to see this... Any complaints from your side?"

When there is time, I would also like to re-loot them. They most likely have the gear that we left down there with them (because we couldn't carry everything), but Volan should have new stuff.
