Hvar er sá sem láta það laust. Hvernig gátu útlendingar komast í málmsteypu? someone shouts in Dwarven from the street as over the low buildings of the compound comes a towering, raging figure seemingly made of fire screaming in pain. As it swings its limbs, droplets of molten metal fly off, embedding themselves in the ground and buildings.

Dwarven:
Where is the one who let it loose. How did the foreigners get into the foundry?

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

Krathok merely regards the monstrosity with a slack-jawed amazement and confusion.

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Seeing the thing just barely with his poor viewing spot, Kjolmar gets up and moves to the window, looking around Krathok to whatever the thing is that moves beyond. His mouth hangs open, and his eyes blaze with both amazement and fear.

Kjolmar doesn't have any knowledge skills, but does he know of anything like this this in Dwarven tales or customs?

Kjolmar:
You do not know exactly why this creature is in the town, but then again this is a mining clan and you are a herder.

Outside:
Roused at the commotion, the priests from inside the temple begin pouring out into the courtyard, milling around and watching the incipient rampage. All of them have particularly vitriolic looks to offer you with one exception.

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Kjolmar calls out to the nearest priest in Dwarven, "Oy! Hvað er að gerast? Þarftu aðstoð?"

Mountain Dwarven:
"Oy! What's going on? Do you need some help?"

Male Human Soulbolt 4

Quodak will move to the one without scowls, and start speaking to him.

Draconic, Xaidan, and CAmthi, in that order:
[b]What is that thing? How can I help?

If the dwarf doesn't respond, Quodak will send through the collective, towards Kjolmar specifically, if possible, that he needs a translator.

The priests look like they are going to respond to Kjolmar for a moment before they remember that there are non-Dwarves present. The one priest who seems most accepting of your presence does not seem to understand Quodak, but his incipient reply to Kjolmar is silenced by a jab from one of his far more dour brethren.

The Dwarves attempt to herd you back into the room you had occupied. Inni. Þetta er bara slys. Þú ert á engan hættu. Their protestations are belied by the fact that drops of dull molten metal are beginning to splatter across the courtyard from the creature's panicked flailing, sending most of the priests scattering, trying to shove you back into the room and get inside as well.

Everyone who does not want to get shoved back into the room should make a bullrush attempt against the shoving of the preists trying to get you back inside. No initiative yet, depending on how you deal with this.

Dwarven:
Inside. This is only an accident. You are in no danger.

Sense Motive DC 15:
It is fairly obvious that this "accident" is fairly disastrous. Nonetheless it is something that the Dwarves absolutely do not want you to have seen.

Sense Motive DC 20:
The creature's rampage is the action of an animal in agony, rather than something on a purposeful offensive.

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Krathok growls... he does not like the fact they are being herded. He puts his hands before him and bares teeth in an attempt to act contrary to the pushing...
Intimidate: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
...if the priest's persist Krathok pushes out with his mind attempting to quell the drive against him.
Collapse on one of the priests - DC 15 or knocked prone
Manifest Defensively (if required): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Sense motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

Kjolmar, wondering what in the blazes is going on, pushes back against the priests.

Bull rush attempt: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Kjolmar simultaneously shouts through the collective, "Try an' connect with the thing's mind! It's not attacking, it's defending itself, an' it looks like these ones are hurtin' it. I wanna know what's goin' on here."

I don't know if you can extend the collective to it if it's unwilling, or if it's within range, but this is what I'm suggesting.

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

Works for willing targets only, and has a range of 140ft. Could give it a go if the dwarves don't herd me off - but probably low chance of success until we show it we are trying to help it first.

Sense Motive 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Having the dwarven translated through the mindlink Orion does not seem to notice anythign amiss and allows himself to be hereded back into the room.

Moredrel has been watching through the window, trying to identify the creature.
Not sure what skill is relevant, so here's a roll with various bonuses
Knowledge: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Arcane: 18+12 = 30
Planes: 18+10 = 28
Nature: 18+12 = 30
Or maybe none of those are relevant and I don't have a clue :)

Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 12

Do the windows open? Are they big enough to fit through?

The windows are high in the wall and have a wooden latticework across them. You could probably smash your way out but it would be a little difficult.

Kjolmar struggles against the priests trying to rush into the room, but their collective mass carries him into the room, as they are trying to escape the rain of molten metal from the skies. Krathok snarls and forces one of the priests to the ground with the weight of his will. As the Dwarven man goes down, he is struck by a large droplet of metal and screams in pain. Anyone left in the the courtyard (I think just Krathok at thus point) should make DC 18 Reflex save.

Moredrel:
You have heard tell of elementals, and this seems to be a fire elemental. You are not sure if a creature born of pure fire is necessarily supposed to be shedding molten metal though.

Collective if Krathok tries to connect to the creature:
The Collective brushes against the creature, finding no mind to connect too, only a searing blast of flame in your mind, tinged with the alien element of earth which is what seems to be causing the creature pain. The elemental is mindless, so I am assuming that the collective cannot wrk. However you do get a clue as to what is going on.

Male Human Soulbolt 4

Quodak will manifest his mind bolt, and try to force his way out.

Bull Rush: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

::Well, what are we going to do?::

::It's a fire elemental, but something's been done to it. The metal isn't right. Whoever summoned it up must have been experimenting. I'm not sure why it's acting like this. It should be almost mindless.
We should probably help stop it before it does anymore damage, but the dwarves don't seem to want us to. ::

Moredrel will continue to watch for now.

"So you think we should break past the dwarves and kill it?" Orion asks, obviously looking for clarification.

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

Seeing the dwarf struck by the metal, Krathok reaches forward to try and haul him out of the way - though remains outside himself.

:: I don't know. Something strange is going on here. I would like to learn what they're doing. We need the dwarves aid, so if they don't want us to help, it might be best to stay out of it ::
:: Kjolmar, I know these aren't your clan, but you know more of them than we do. What do you think? ::

How far from the windows we're looking from is the creature?

The creature is one or two alleys over from the temple, but as it is about 30' tall it is clearly visible over the buildings.

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

I'm thinkin' they are hurtin' the thing, an' their actin' suspicious. I don' like this one bit, but I'm not sure we should do anythin' just yet. Stay alert, mates.

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

If able to wrench the dwarf out of the way and not stopped by any others.

Krathok moves further out of the building and reaches out to touch the strange figures mind.... though unable to make contact. Learning what is in above spoiler re: Collective

It is mindless... but tainted somehow. As though a flame choked with sand

The Dwarves collectively are still having some trouble subduing the creature, although the rain of molten metal seems to be lessening with time. Krathok shoves the burned priest into the room and remains outside as everyone else is swept back inside by the stampede.

Now, casualties are beginning to be carried back into the temple, to the room that you are in. Dwarves with burns of varying severity from both the fires of the creature itself and the

Krathok:
One of the Dwarves running into the temple with a badly burned companion looks up briefly and sees you. Þarna er hann! Sá sem spellvirki aflinum! he shouts, causing several Dwarves to make threatening moves in your direction, while others seem skeptical of whatever was just shouted.

Krathok, you take 6 Fire damage from the molten metal splattering across the courtyard from before. Also, the casualties will pass by you before they get into the temple.

Dwarven:
There he is! It's the foreigner who sabotaged the forge!

DM Rolls:
Fire Dmg 1:3d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 6) = 13

:: They are hurting it, but I think it's just a conjured thing that they've lost control of. They do seem to want to keep us from finding out what's going on though. ::

If we're still getting Dwarven translated through the collective

Spoiler:
:: What are they saying about a foreigner? Do they mean us or is there someone else here? ::

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Yeah, I can shoot that one through the collective. Kjolmar adds to it. Looks like they think it was us wha' caused all tha'. Bloody morons.

He then steps up to the threatening priests and growls in their face, "Sjáðu, við höfum verið að sitja í þeirri herbergi þetta allan tímann. Hvernig á níu Hells finnst þér að við gerðum eitthvað?"

Dwarven:
"Look, we been sittin' in tha' room this whole time. How in the nine hells do you think we did anythin'?"

Kjolmar is tired of these Dwarves, who keep the group in the dark but accuse them of doing things when the group has no idea what it apparently did.

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

Krathok does not move to cast off the remaining bits of burning metal on his form. Instead he focuses his mind and the dwarves see the burns begin to heal. His eyes stay to the potential suffering both endured and caused by the rampaging elemental.

Manifest Natural Healing for 3HP... will plan to do same next 'round' unless something intervenes.

Remember that the original comment was directed to Krathok outside, and thus the priests are hearing only Kjolmar's angry outburst. Also I assume that you have collectively decided to leave the elemental to the Dwarves to fight at this point.

The priests, who at this point are mostly moving to tend to the wounded being carried in. Several of the older ones are casting more powerful spells directly at the rampaging elemental. At Kjolmar's outburst, some of them look at him confused and reply, forgetting in the heat of the moment that there are non-Dwarves in the room. Ekki þú, auðvitað, bróðir. Einn af útlendingum frá mér hlýtur að hafa fengið í bænum.

Dwarven:
Not you, of course, Brother. One of the foreigners from the mine must have gotten into the town.

People in the room should make a Perception check.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20

perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Just so you know, Krathok, you can augment that so you don't need to manifest it muttiple times. In fact, say you were down 12 hp, and not 6.You could augment it once normall to make it heal 6, and then augment it once more to augment another person, and then reroute those six HPs of healing towards yourself.

Perception1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Moredrel and Orion:
Despite the commotion, all the way in the darkened corner of the room, you see what appears to be one of the injured Dwarves performing the somatic components of a spell, his back to most everyone in the room in an obvious attempt to not be noticed for the moment it takes him to cast.

Moredrel:
He is casting a Silenced Alter Self.

Spellcraft Rolls:

Moredrel:1d20 + 15 ⇒ (14) + 15 = 29
Orion:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

DM:
Watch him and get a good look when he's done at what he looks like now.

Orion grabs the man and bodily slams him against a wall (dramatic damage only)

CMB 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

as he does so Orion says "What are you doing?!?"

Well, that changes my plans.

:: Kjolmar, if you would translate for our hosts. ::

"Wie ben jij? Waarom wilde je om jezelf te vermommen?"

Camthi:
"Who are you? Why were you trying to disguise yourself?"

I wasn't expecting to have to make a combat map of this room, so it will be up soon. I assume that most of you are craning your heads to look out the window, but can I please have more precise descriptions of where you are.

Moredrel:
He finishes the spell just before Orion body slams him, but he does not seem to change.

Orion lunges across the room and grabs the Dwarf he spotted casting in the corner and slams him against the wall but not quite fast enough to stop the spell from being completed, holding the stocky Dwarf's feet off the ground, any pretense of concealing his draconic features gone at this point. I assume that you were trying to look as un-draconic as possible this whole time, but I am going to say that it is impossible once you start tossing Dwarves around.

The Dwarves in the room who had forgotten the presence of foreigners for the most part now are suddenly reminded and shout in alarm, seeing Orion's draconic horns and wings and hearing his angry shout presumably in Draconic. Dreki! Dreki í forfeðranna sal inn The skemmdarverka er truflun!

Dwarven:
Dragons! Dragons in the ancestral hall! The sabotage is a distraction!

You should definitely roll for initiative now.

Moredrel was by the window, but when he saw the casting, and saw Orion start to move he would have been moving away from it towards them.

DM:
I assume that's the effect I'd expect if he was renewing an Alter Self about to wear off?

Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Into the collective:
:: We can't fight them all. Try not to resist.
Kjolmar! Tell them we'll surrender, if they'll hold that one. Tell them he's disguised by magic. ::

Moredrel stops moving, raising his hands slowly, holding them open and being careful not to do anything that could be misconstrued as a casting gesture.

Male Human Soulbolt 4

Init:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

Quodak was trying to bull rush his way out a while back, and that never got responded to. I'll just assume he didn't make it out.

Quodak turns from the window once the commotion begins.

Camthi:
Who's disguised now? The guy under Orion?

Oops, sorry about that Quodak. You would have been pushed inside, since you had to get a 20, or make some sort of gap in the crowd like Krathok did to get out.

Moredrel:
That is really the only explaination that makes any sense.

I misunderstood the situation, ergo so did Orion.

Initiative 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Realizing what the dwarf was doing after the fact, Orion drops him lightly, steps back, and tries not to look intimidating.

Male Human Soulbolt 4

Quodak raises his hands, clasping them together, trying to look as inconspicuous as Moredrel. He does not, however, relinquish his "grip" on his mind bolt. A slight heat haze remains around his hands.

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Kjolmar was as close to one of the windows as he can get. Doesn't matter which one, assuming there's more than one.

Kjolmar, on hearing what Moredrel relays through the collective, spins around to see the situation in the room. He shouts to the priests, "Ið viljum ekki að berjast, heyra okkur út! Vinur okkar kom að einn greiða álög. Hann er ekki einn af þér, hann er með galdur dularklæðunum á. Orion er ekki þræll drekanum guðum, á feðrum mínum."

Dwarven:
"We don't want to fight, hear us out! Our friend caught that one casting a spell. He's not one of you; he's got a magic disguise on. Orion is not a servant to the dragon gods, on my ancestors."

As he says this, Kjolmar raises his hands, keeping them well away from his weapons as he bellows to the priests. He motions to Orion with his last sentence.

Before Kjolmar can reassure then in their native tongue, the three Dwarves closest to Orion, including his target jump on the man, holding him firmly. Others roughly grab Quodak and Moredrel. After Kjolmar shouts his explanation of sorts, the Dwarves look at each other and then at the alleged impostor, although they are distracted from untangling the situation by the fact that wounded are still being brought into the temple from the fight outside. They do not, however, make any other offensive moves, which all things considered is a good sign.

DM Rolls:
Initiative:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Grapple:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Assist 1:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Assist 2:1d29 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

He's (Orion) Is just kinda dumb. lol

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

Krathok concentrates again washing the last of his burns away. He keeps his eyes on the elemental outside.

Yep I know about augmenting Natural Healing, but it isn't efficient for small amounts of damage, plus I like the visual effect of the burns melting away over time.

I'm just waiting for reactions from everyone before I plunge ahead. I know that this encounter turned into a weird half-combat/half-not thing.

Male Human Soulbolt 4

Quodak stays in place, knowing he's in a somewhat precarious position.

::Well? What's going on, Kjolmar? Are they going to do anything, or not?::

Male Dwarf Rogue (scout) 4

::Hard to tell. I think they'll hear us out, at the least.::

Kjolmar keeps his hands raised and his posture defensive as he says, "Sjá, einhver að gera galdur dylja hans fara burt svo við getum séð úlfur sem er að fela sig í sauðargæru, ha?"

Mountain Dwarven:
Look, someone make his magic disguise go away so we can see the wolf that's hiding in sheep's clothing, eh?

:: It shouldn't last more than a few minutes anyway, unless he's very powerful.::

Male Human Soulbolt 4

:: Is there any way for them to realize it's a disguise before it runs out? Like if they touch him, or talk to him, or anything?::

Quodak refrains from moving.

:: It's not an illusion, so most of that won't work. Detect magic will show he's under a spell and even the school. That would help. Detect evil might be interesting. ::
