A series of six Quests designed for 1st-level characters.
Bizarre phenomena have tormented the people of southeastern Ustalav for decades, and these events become stronger and more dangerous every year. Hoping to uncover the origins of these flashes of red lightning and spectral hauntings, Dr. Quolorum from the Sincomakti School of Sciences has set out with a team of able-bodied assistants. Can the PCs help the professor unlock the secret that dwells above Lantern Lake?
Phantom Phenomena includes six, 1-hour adventures that take the PCs to a superstitious village, a lightning-scarred woodland, an ancient Kellid monolith, a haunted manor, an occult university, and finally into the storm-choked mountains. Experience the adventures in any order to create a unique story.
Quests are "mini adventures" (in this case combined for a ongoing storyline), and would be perfect for new players, players that just want to dip their toes into Play by Post, and also for those that are just looking for something new to play. It DOES require a Pregen to play, but does grant PFS credit to your character.
This will be part of the official PbP Game Day 4, scheduled to begin Sept 19, 2015.

Ok, I have one seat reserved for a player from a game that is cancelled, so I'm going to call it there with a 6 person table.
We still have plenty of time, so feel free to chat, discuss, and the like. I'll still need to prep all the maps, read a bit more, and look over characters as they are finished.

It might also help if you list a few options you would like to try. That way other players have an idea of what might be good to have instead.
Note, there is no need to avoid doubling up on the pregens. Play what you like. :) Assitionally, feel free to reflavor, swap gender, or rewrite the history if you like. No swapping stats though. Or spells, yet.
So far:
PatheticWretch - Arcanist (arcane caster)
ShadowKhan - Warpriest (martial)
bes753 - ?
Awenydd83 - ?
EvilMinion - ?
GM Lari - ?
I can see, without getting too much into it, the Cleric, Paladin, Investigator, Bard, and Rogue being good options, but also basically anything from the Occult Adventures Playtest.

Hey, I'm definitely in. Thanks for saving me a space! As a disclaimer, I'm currently running one PBP table of this, and will be running another during the gameday, so I know what's going on.
A question with regards to the pregen. The Medium is the occult class I understand the least about, so I'm interested in playing him. The sheet includes variants on his statblock for two different spirits (Champion and Trickster). The sheet seems to imply that using the other options is OK if you have the book, which I do. Would you object to me trying out a different spirit each quest to get a better feel for the class?
If that's more complexity than you want to worry about, I'll take the Spiritualist.

what to play... what to play...
It's possible that I could find time and be convinced to maybe run Fane of Fangs as well before the Game Day.

Feel free to jump in. Sorry, I've been really busy these last few days.
Just for the record, who is interested in doing a quick Fane of Fangs game prior to the Game Day event?
A few notes on Fane of Fangs:
1.) It does require pregens. Included are four level 5 Pregens, or you can use any of the other Level 4 Pregens.
2.) It does not grant any XP, PP, or GP. It does grant a few unique Boons, though, and they do look cool. These do need to be applied to an existing character lower than the level of the Pregen or a brand new character.
3.) Because you do not get any XP, you will also not get a Day Job roll, (or Downtime), nor can you apply any Faction Card Missions.
4.) This will mostly be for fun and to help pass the time until the game.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also, as of right now, we have:
PatheticWretch - Arcanist
ShadowKhan - Warpriest
bes753 - Bloodrager
Awenydd83 - ?
EvilMinion - ?
GM Lari - Medium
TomG - ?
It would really help me to get the last few preps done if everyone has their character set up, so please do so when you can. Not a huge rush, but the quicker the better.
Also, please make sure you check in the Gameplay thread, and also take a look at the Recruitment threads. (Tabs are at the top once you have posted in the gameplay thread).
And feel free to introduce yourselves, your characters, etc. . .

Yes, well there is that. I've also recently built a kineticist for another table and want some more experience with it.
I played Yoon (lvl 4) a couple of weeks ago at a local event and had a blast (no pun intended). She'd taken burn, and so did auto damage when hit with natural attacks.
2/3 of the party was charmed by harpies and carried off... Yoon stood there, entranced, while the harpy kept swiping at her. Doing automatic fire damage on each strike. Killed the harpy. (lol. Stupid specified tactics!)
That, and she's great against plant monsters, no denying!

Okay everyone, I'm ready to start with Fane of Fangs, but need you to go ahead and present characters and lets go.
You can use either any of the Level 4 versions of the Legal Pregens FOUND HERE or you can download the Fane of Fangs Quest for Free and use the special Level 5 Pregens that are legal for this only, FOUND HERE
I'm ready, I just need you guys and gals.
If there are any questions, if someone doesn't know what they need to do, or anything, please let me know.

Lack of interest/response, and the time before the Game Day is getting shorter. If it does, I don't mind you jumping it, but Phantom Phenomena is maxed out with 7 already. Are you a Dragonlance fan?

Just to keep things simple, I will just stay with Adowyn for the Fane of Fangs. If the game does happen, could you leave the character name on the chronicle blank? I am not sure who I want to assign that to.
I can do that, but you will need to PM me down the road to change it, or it will not show under your sessions.

My understanding was that the chronicle could be applied to any 1st level, but that once you apply a chronicle after the Phantom Phenomena one, you can't check off any more boxes, like Silverhex. If I'm mistaken, please let me know, as I'm running this currently and will again during the gameday, and should warn my players.
Honestly, I had not heard that. My understanding was that as long as you applied the Chronicle, you could later come back and add to the original Chronicle (boxes), because it doesn't matter if the character you applied it to levels up, you still pay it with a Level 1 Pregen.
I look into it, but I had not heard anything along those lines.

I'm not seeing anything that says you can't. I've looked at the PFS Guide, the Silverhex Chronicles Discussion, the Phantom Phenomena Discussion, and looked through some of the (unofficial) GM Discussions on them.
There might be some confussion on how it works though. You only get 1 Chronicle Sheet for playing Phantom Phenomena, Silverhex Chronicles, or Fane of Fangs. Phantom Phenomena and Silverhex Chronicles though, have six separate, but linked parts. You can play any of them (within each quest) in any order. The first time you play, you get the Chronicle Sheet, and need to apply it to a 1st level Character. A "New" 1st level character is debated to what that actually means. That is to say a Level 9 GM Credit "baby" is a new character, you have never played them, and all Chronicles are applied in order.
At any time later you complete another part of that quest, that original Chronicle Sheet is updated a bit, giving you more rewards, namely an extra Boon, a bit more money and possibly 1 more PP. You do not receive any more XP, though. Because you need to play a Preen, and after the initial time, the Chronicle Sheet has already been applied, it simply gets upgraded, not "applied".
So, it's very feasible that you could have all of The Silverhex Chronicles, Phantom Phenomena, and even Fane of Fangs on one character, if you have not played the character before applying either Phantom Phenomena or Silverhex, (and because they are applied to a 1st level character that hasn't been played yet, that's not hard). Fane of Fangs doesn't really matter, as it will not really kick in until you hit level 4 anyway.
If you are also GMing it, that's fine. You can not apply the same Chronicle Sheet to the same Character anyway, so there will be no conflict on that end.
My plan was to issue the Chronicle Sheet (only 1) at the end, so it will be fully upgraded. (Fane of Fangs separately). If anyone can not continue after a certain point, that's fine, I'll have their Chronicle ready to go as soon as I can with what they did complete. It's also important to note that with Quests, you can die and still get full credit and DO NOT get marked as dead, so as long as everyone continues to the end, which should be rather short all things considered, everyone should get full credit for all parts.
Does that make sense?
Does someone have a link to something that says different?

The instructions DH asks about, which imply any first-level character (and not just a "new" 1st level, as per the PF RP Guild Guide—whatever that officially means) are in the Phantom instructions (so I'm avoiding the "new" debate for other adventures, but the interpretation seems clear enough for Phantom).
I agree with what you said.
I interpret the restriction in Phantom to mean one can't do part of it, apply it to a character, earn a chronicle elsewhere, then go back and do the rest of Phantom and adjust the chronicle sheet. Once you "leave", as indicated by earning a chronicle elsewhere, you can't come back.
