Dotting this one. Planning on submitting an Half-Orc Bloodrager 1/Bard X - once an inhabitant of Phaendar, living with an uncaring adopted mother, who sold her every possession and left right after her demise. His meanderings took him to join the army and now he is returning after a couple of years.

A callous and sometimes ill-tempered former army sergeant, he is a mixed support/melee character with skill and spell versatility. You will find he is a teamplayer however ;)

I have played the first Ironfang Invasion book before - hope that is not an issue?

That's no problem, Albion. We are about to start the second book, so knowledge of the first isn't an issue.

I'm going to live dangerously and roll HP! :D

HP: 4d8 ⇒ (6, 2, 8, 6) = 22

I should have some time tonight to add some more background info, but any feedback is welcome on the crunch thus far ;)

Was really on the fence between this one and a similar concept but based around Investigator - even though that one would be stronger as far as skills are concerned, this one is less ‘selfish’ as far as group buffs go.

Still working out the details and last bits of the alias (like the picture) but the basics of crunch and fluff are done. Presenting Álainn, the world's strangest vigilante (never non-animal except by accident!)

Hopefully I've done a decent job of explaining Álainn's origin and tying into some of the existing backstory. (Eilyne, I hope you don't mind that I borrowed Kiassae for a little character tie in?)

Will finish off tonight, but hope you like it!

Trying to explain Álainn a bit better.

Álainn will spend the majority of time in Vigilante form - in the shape/appearance of a smilodon (which I felt was a suitably rare/apex predator to defend the wild). Will probably only stay in social form if/when the party runs into civilisation and wants to make a good impression.

With Beast Shape Álainn has lots of flexibility and can take 2 minutes to change the supernatural element (getting darkvision if we're scouting at night, or scent if we suspect invisible creatures etc) so should be able to adapt well. Combat role will be as a cannon, which should hopefully complement Surma quite well and keep some of the pressure off Minto.

Álainn also has a range of skills, with social grace there's a reasonable amount of social skill in social form and can pick locks etc in a pinch! The Vigilante skill list is pretty huge so I can pick up other things in future if needed!

Planning to take Lethal Grace at level 6 and quick change at 7, which will add more damage and the ability to change forms much faster respectively - basically building up more and more damage, combined with better versatility as the game goes on.

So there you go, the (twisted/odd/downright insane) 'logic' behind Álainn! :)

Here are the submissions so far:

Asura Vanil, aasimar oracle/paladin (Dakcentauri)
Augur, human summoner (SOLDIER-1st; needs to level up to 5)
Duskashae, wayang fighter (rogue VMC) (eriktd)
Felix Gatanera, human witch (Solicitor)
Arden Kain Brandt, human cavalier/fighter (rorek55)
Hedrak, half-orc bloodrager/bard (Edeldhur)
Alainn the Fey, gathlain vigilante (Nikolaus d'Shade)

I will keep recruitment open through tomorrow, then I will message the existing players and together we will decide on a replacement.

Sweet. Thanks for the update DM Brainiac ;)

Doesn't bother me Álainn, I like these kinds of connections.

I just realized that I'm about to go on a week-long cruise where I will not be able to post, and figured that'll probably be a wee bit irritating if I'm chosen. So I'm going to go ahead and drop. Have fun guys.

Kain is mostly finished, a few purchases left. Mostly of the mundane type.

The idea is he brings scouting, more social skills, some additional survival skills, a strong martial, a flying mount that adds potential for different solutions, and of course, the ability to engage in, and swiftly end aggressive negotiations.

That said, I will be attempting to make Kain just as effective whether on or off his mount in combat as we go along. (For the times being mounted on him just isn't an option, and fighting beside him is required)

Heres to hoping you guys like kain and thanks for giving me the chance to apply!

I'm also still deciding if I will be sticking with Gendarme as an archetype. If the party would prefer the tactician ability I may just go for that, though I've never really seen it be exceptionally effective.

Okay, I think everybody who wanted to apply has done so, so I'll close recruitment. I'll confer with the players and we will have our decision soon.

Albion waits patiently, tap tap tapping his finger on the table...

Alright, after speaking with the other players, I have decided to recruit two new players to help revitalize the game. Congratulations to both Felix Gatenara and Alainn the Fey. Please chime in on the discussion thread and we will get you worked into the story.

Thank you to the others who applied as well. I will consider your applications should we need another replacement player in the future.

back to lurking for an ironfang game it is! have fun all, if I may, any tips on hammering out the wrinkles for Arden?

Congratulations to those selected. Wish you a great game.
