Truk misses ... the skeleton's serpentine neck makes for a difficult headbutt target.
Syndlara hacks with a tighter grip.. with more force than finesse she shatters enough bone to bring it down to a lifeless pile of debris.

Iolana chips bone along the jawline as the creature turns to claw at the exposed flesh of the unarmored half-orc.

Gatherine did a dance as the second serpentfolk skeleton's wedge shaped skull shattered like a vase beneath the butt of her pistol.She whooped at the remaining ones,shaking her pistol defiantly.

Growling in frustration at the skeleton's dodgy moves, the big orc puts up his fist and throws a punishing one-two.

Iolana detects no magic emanating from the red-veined bronze door. The door is not locked or latched, but it is heavy... and the hinges creak loudly the moment she tests it.

Mugambi limps in the middle of the group keeping a light spell cast on his cestus.

Iolana casts a light spell on her blade a walks alongside Truk,keeping an eye on Syndlara.


Syndlara gets to the lead of the group - going up the steps while Iolana and Truk take a moment to inspect the floor. By the time everyone makes it up the steps, the floor drops underneath Syndlara. One side lowers 5 or 6 feet instantly. In addition to the bang of it hitting, there is a squishy sound... there is something dark, wet, and wriggling in the new opening toward which Syndlara begins to fall.

Iolana reaches the edge of the fallen floor, worried about the elf.
"Syndlara, are you all right?"

she should be given her save, but waiting Bloodgargler for the outcome.


Syndlara easily hops back to avoid falling into the pit.
You see the wriggling under the fallen floor is a mass of centipedes... slimy and foul, but they do not appear interested in being out in the light.
After a few seconds they fully retreat into the shadows.

The pit is a little less than 10 feet across.

Syndlara waves a hand dismissively. "I'm fine. Saw it coming," she says. "Anyone have some rope? I should be able to jump across, but I'd prefer not chancing it--and I really doubt Gatherine would be able to make it."

Truk fishes out his length of rope and tightly ties it around the elven woman's waist. The big orc offers her a wink and laughs.

"I've got this end. Give it a shot."

Initially hesitant to attempt the jump, she takes Truk's encouragement as a challenge. "Alright," she says, and takes a running leap across the chasm.

Also, I realized that I can't fail a DC10 Acrobatics check for a long jump.

Gatherine backpedaled a pace,adjusted the straps of bulging backpack,and bounded forward with a shock of her short yet limber legs.She cleared the gaping hole in a single leap,landing on the other side without so much as a wobble.

Mugambi gladly uses the rope to get to the other side.


With the rope secured by Gatherine and Syndlara, the pit is manageable by all.. though it takes a little time.

As the last of you make it over, you hear a airy voice. It sounds like someone trying to talk with just their breath. "Aaaaaaah heeeeeeee aaaaaaah..."
It seems to be coming from the pit.

About thirty feet further north, the tunnel turns left.

The varisian girl begins walking, then stops one last moment : "Besides, if whatever is making that sound wants to mess with us, i'm sure it will sooner or later,so it is pointless to worry now."
