Okay, I think I misunderstood the map. The only way we can go is into the room from this hallway, or go around to the stairs that we think lead to the balcony into this room. Either way, this room is the only way.

Angelica takes the layout of the room into consideration. "Well, we can just enter here and try to slink past all the people, or go to the balcony and try to see if we can glean something before entering. Maybe waiting up there we can see when all the visitors leave or they retire for the night." Not waiting for a response, she heads back toward the stairs in the other room and follows them to the door. She stops and inspects it for either wards or locks.

As soon as the door to the balcony opened, a voice rang out over the partying crowd, and all conversation ceased.

"Oh my sweet subjects. Now is the time to enjoy the sweet succulent fruits of our labor. I give you license to indulge your appetites, every unexpressed libidinous impulse, for by such indulgences you honor me. Those who would interefere with this sacrament are like the blind chastising the sighted for looking with pleasure upon a rainbow. Why, some in our midst this very moment are actively working against us - obstacles between us and the indulgence of our passions. Behold the cold and bloodless prudes who even now stand before us!"

All the party goers turned towards the balcony, every eye fastened upon Angelica in the open doorway. One looming man dressed in greeen-and-gold robes raised an accusing finger and yelled, "The proper place for those without inner fire is the grave! Come, let us drag them there!"

The crowd surges towards the balcony in a frenzied mob, splashing against the walls. Most could not reach even the bottom of the balcony, but then some began hoisting their fellows up. Reaching arms grabbed the rails and bodies spilled over. Down below, more ran out the passageway you had recently abandoned, clearly heading for the stairs. Angelica moved to close the door, but as she did, the first of the furious revelers reached for her...and vanished. That was the trigger for all, and in ones and twos, then by the handful, the revelers disappeared.

Sorshen was the last to go, that sultry smile on her lips leering at you as she disappeared, her last words lingered in the air.

"I'll be waiting for you."

As the flow of party goers heads for the balcony, Jakscar sees they will ne overwhelmed and readies his blades. "Get out before they block the stairs, I will hold them here. " and then they disappear. Jakscar stops with blades in the beginning of an overhead strike and only stops his blade from hitting the balcony with an exertion of his muscles.
"Oh crap! I guess she does. Much though part of me suggests that we just give up on this one, I guess we push on quickly before she can organise her defence? Although I fear that may be too late!"

Shaken somewhat by the strange event, Shabbezz's academic curiosity edges out her fear.

"An illusion, maybe? It detected Angelica, so possibly it was pre-programed to trigger for an intruder, or there could be some guardian entity in control of it..."

Angelica shrugs, and offers, "Well, no sense in being up in this balcony now. Let's go back down into the room and find a way through it." With that she moves to go right back down the hallway they came up and enter into the room.

As Angelica entered the ballroom, there was a pop of displaced air. Suddenly, there was a 15-foot constrictor on the ground in front of her, charging full speed! Seeing the anaconda spring into existence, Jakscar tears across the hall, arms pumping, blades flashing, sprinting in a wide circle trying to loop round behind the massive serpent. Jakscar moved into the room to help Angelica just as the snake struck again. This time, the burglar was not able to avoid the large snake, and it bit her, coiling its massive body around her legs and torso. The chanting stopped momentarily, and there was another pop of displaced air as a small demon appeared right in front of the hallway entry. It let out an enormous wave of flatulence, and the air in front of the entry was filled with a putrid green smoke that reeked of half-digested offal and spoiled dairy. Immediately, the chanting started up again.

Between them, Angelica and Jakscar easily sliced the snake into several pieces. Above, you could hear a curse of anger as the mage above finished their next spell and hated you for destroying its summons so easily. Another pop and another dretch appeared. This one clawed at Jakscar before letting off its cloud of flatulence. It didn't do much, as Jakscar was ready with the parry. Finally past the nausea induced by the cloud, Shabbezz finally is in a position to provide aid. She grabs her spell component pouch, extracts what she needs, and weaves the effect into being.

Casting see invisibilty (Casting Time: 1 standard action; Components: V,S,M [talc and powdered silver]; Range: personal; Target: you; Duration: 10 min./level [1 hour].

See Invisibility:
You can see any objects or beings that are invisible within your range of vision, as well as any that are ethereal, as if they were normally visible. Such creatures are visible to you as translucent shapes, allowing you easily to discern the difference between visible, invisible, and ethereal creatures.

The spell does not reveal the method used to obtain invisibility. It does not reveal illusions or enable you to see through opaque objects. It does not reveal creatures who are simply hiding, concealed, or otherwise hard to see.

See invisibility can be made permanent with a permanency spell.

Her large red eyes gleam supernaturally for a moment before seeming to return to normal. The grippli then races as far as she can manage into the chamber and attempts to locate the source of the hidden conjurer.

Perception, if needed (darkvision 60 ft.): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

In case I don't reply quick enough, assume that if Shabbezz is able to spot the summoner's location she immediately points it out and yells it to the others. I will make any appropriate knowledge rolls if it needs to be identified.

Shabbezz shouts out, "She's near the center of the ballroom!" She pointed and marked the enemy caster's position with one tiny finger pointing.

Zaph, tired of this spellcaster's tactics and invisibility, targets the area where Shabbezz points with a dispel magic. He makes sure not to include Angelica in the area, lest he accidentally dispel his own fly spell.

The boat ready to be roasted, Jakscar pins to face the dretch and speaks through gritted teeth. "Your turn now, and if I remember correctly, you will disappear eventually. So i will just say that it was unpleasant to see you, please don't call again.". Eith that, Jakscar adopts a more cautious fighting stance.

Okay, considering Angelica goes before Zap, she doesn't know of his intentions.

Angelica feels the rush, and hears Shabbezz cry out. Turning from where she is, she flies toward her best guess of where they might be, and tries desperately to get a clue to their whereabouts.

Jakscar killed the little dretch, freeing up all on the ground except Zaphomil, who was being attacked by the spider. Angelica flew towards where Shabbezz was pointing and lashed out with talon and blade, but caught nothing. She definitely heard it when the spellcaster began chanting again. It was off to the left of where she thought the creature was. Then, Zaphomil managed to get his counterspell off, and your target suddenly appeared. It was a female sinspawn, similar to the ones you had seen before, only this one was dressed in a halter and flowing skirt. Her spell completed, and she blurred slightly with speed, as did her spider companion. The spider attacked Zaphomil over and over, it's fangs glowing with a black-speckled purple hue. Zaphomil felt the mandibles pierce his left leg, and the poison coursing though the bite.

Round 6-7:

Zaphomil is bitten for 6 damage and must make a DC 16 Fort save or be poisoned and take 1d2 ⇒ 1 strength damage.

Shabbezz saw the spider sink its fangs into Zaph and immediately tried to drive it off of him. Two glowing missiles streaked from her wand at the arthopod.

Being able to see the target of her searches finally, Angelica uses the newfound speed granted by the flight to cut a wide circle around behind the thing. Ideally this will allow her to cut off any form of escape. Silverfang in hand, she stabs out at the creature.

Sorry tough week. Is the sinspawn flying as well? Unsure after spells etc? Doesn't affect my choice now, but might going forward.

As the dretch slides off Jakscar's blades, he is already turning to find the next enemy. Spotting the spider, Jakscar charges into combat with it, howling and hissing like a tomcat to catch it's attention.

Jakscar raced to Zaphomil's aid, a pair of magical missiles flying over his should to impact on the spider's body. The catfolk arrived just as Zaphomil sank a crossbow bolt into the spider, and Jakscar slashed the summoned beast. With a squeal, the spider flipped over, its legs contracting in death.

In the air, Angelica slashed at the sinspawn, who dropped her guisarme and lunged back at the burglar, slashing with razor-sharp claws and biting with a jaw that unhinged to an impossibly wide angle. But, Angelica was too adroit to be taken in, even in mid-air, and she contorted her body to avoid all of the blows
