Hmm... we'll have to pick up the leveling pace!

Here here for three years, and here's to a few more as well ;)
Male Human
I second both of the above posts! :-)
Random fact (because I'm bored at work and trying to keep awake): almost 60% of all our in-character posts occurred in the first year of the game. We got to level 2 in 3 months, and it took us 20 months to hit level 3, with level 4 in 6 months.
Didn't I go through some major PbP fatigue due to dropping players from 2 to 3... I seem to recall it anyway.
I don't doubt it. I think there was a Master's in there somewhere too.
Not to mention moving to and from the Ukraine.
PaizoCon announcements: optional non-backwards-compatible rogues and monks and an orcs and giants AP.
Been hearing about the latter for some time. Assuming Belkzen. Quite interested actually.
Male Human
What does the former mean, the one about non-backwards-compatible monks and rogues?
Male Human (Mwangi - Bas'o tribe) Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist archetype) 4
Belkzen AP is a great idea - it's non Varisian, and harkens back to orcs and giants and similar grognard friendly fare.
The rogues and monks question is that they're basically going to re-do the Rogue and Monk class... as in 'fix' the problems that the class has.
F. Castor wrote: What does the former mean, the one about non-backwards-compatible monks and rogues? The book is Pathfinder Unchained, as in letting the designers start from scratch without worrying about what came before. The other two classes mentioned were barbarian and, for some reason, summoner -- as if they weren't starting from scratch to make a whole new class in the first place. Maybe they want to try to make one that's not banned by so many DMs. :P
Maybe toning up the monk and rogue and toning down the barbarian and summoner? Don't know why they'd leave the fighter off the list for a redo, though.
EDIT: There's a DC 30 Perception check in-thread that I think Kieran's the only one with a chance to make, Castor.
SECOND EDIT: Reading more, yep, summoner and barbarian are getting nerfed, optionally, of course.
Male Human Haunted Nature Oracle 4 (Ac 20 Cmd 20 Will+4 Ref+2 Fort+4)
I expect the Summoner, Barbarian, Monk, and Rogue were considered too complicated to attract new players.
Male Human
Complicated? The Summoner maybe, but I would consider the Rogue pretty straightforward, especially compared with some other classes, such as the spellcasters.
EDIT:
Joana wrote: There's a DC 30 Perception check in-thread that I think Kieran's the only one with a chance to make, Castor. The Perception check I rolled on the IC thread was for the chests. Rolling for the room is a separate one, right?
The Rogue is straightforward but requires strong levels of system mastery to make effective. Much like the Monk.
Yeesh. Ansha is at 3/22 hp and I think Kieran is at -1/29...all before the fight even starts.
Out of curiosity, how would Mirror Image affect damage from a grapple?
Male Human Haunted Nature Oracle 4 (Ac 20 Cmd 20 Will+4 Ref+2 Fort+4)
Which snake is grappling the corpse formerly known as Kieran?
If Kieran was on full HP at start of fight he is on 4HP.
Grappling creatures all marked with small red dots.
Mirror Image won't help when your already grabbed.
Male Human Haunted Nature Oracle 4 (Ac 20 Cmd 20 Will+4 Ref+2 Fort+4)
So BOTH Snakes are wrapped around Kieran?
Not that it matters but only the first snake rolled the grab.
No- theres one red dot on the left hand snake and one on Kieran.
Male Human Haunted Nature Oracle 4 (Ac 20 Cmd 20 Will+4 Ref+2 Fort+4)
Ahhh I am a moron, never mind.
Yeah, you're right. Kieran's at 4/29hp. I can't add.
Alexander Kilcoyne wrote: No- theres one red dot on the left hand snake and one on Kieran. I don't get a red dot. :( I just get a lousy blue circle.
Where are the doors? I thought we only opened one. How is the snake attacking Akirra?
The snakes were summoned where they are after something pushed in a section of wall in the northwest corner.
Yeah, but you and Kieran entered the room through the left door from this map, and now a snake is attacking Akirra through what I assume is a door on the right that I don't believe we ever said we opened. Did the snake open the door?
You're completely right. I really only have one thing to say about this entire thing: "I've (already) had it with these snakes in this barracks!"
Who is are the lucky guy(s) with a bunk between 2 doors? :)
Dibs on the bunk in C,47! ;)

I can go one step worse - I've been offshore in a four bed room... and each person in there was on a different shift. One was 00:00 to 12:00, one 06:00 to 18:00, one 12:00 to 24:00 and one 18:00 to 06:00, so you always had one person waking up and going to sleep half-way through your own sleep time.
Plus it was immediately above the main door between the accommodation and outside... which happened to be a marine style locking door. So every few minutes you had a loud clunk-clunk.... clunk-clunk as people went in and out of the accommodation.
Was quite difficult to get any sleep.

Did the snake open the door? I've assumed the other door was opened for everyone to have a look in and for Akirra to maintain a vigil with bow.
Plus, with those init and attack rolls, I thought assigning more attacks to Kieran and Ansha would be very cruel.
I won't jump the gun and update until I see Tebati and Kieran's actions.
Tebati has neither line of sight nor line of effect, as she apparently thought the best way to 'have a look in' was to stand between the edge of a pool and a blank wall. In fact, she has no way of even knowing that Ansha and Kieran are in trouble.
Delay until she has a square to move to.
The world doesn't operate in 5 foot squares outside of combat. I thought you'd prefer closest square rather than starting "squeezed" in the doorway which is basically where you were gathered.
Your definitely aware of whats going on inside, just put you in a square near the door for combat.
In addition, fellow PC's do not block line of sight.
Still nothing she can do. Delay.
Also, Qhude, you're not blessed yet. Despite posting first, Jakob's init is at the bottom of the round.
Male Human (Mwangi - Bas'o tribe) Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist archetype) 4
Doh! - my bad... likely a miss even with the bless anyhoo.

Sorry.
I can never decide if it is better to post early and risk confusion or wait til my init and risk delay.
Male Human
Well, this is not looking grim at all. Should I be thinking up a new character? :-P
Male Human Haunted Nature Oracle 4 (Ac 20 Cmd 20 Will+4 Ref+2 Fort+4)
Eh you have a decent con. Cavalry will arrive.
Which snake is grappling Kieran: the east or the west?
The one with the red dot on it on the map--west.
Ah, it looked to me like they both had a red dot. I suppose the second one is actually on Kieran. Ansha doesn't have a dot; isn't she grappled? Or it hidden under the blue circle?
Presumably the blue circle means I'm prone, and apparently I'm not important enough to merit a red dot.
Ansha is grappled as per description. Forgot to red dot her at start of round.
Male Human Haunted Nature Oracle 4 (Ac 20 Cmd 20 Will+4 Ref+2 Fort+4)
umm Ansha... Dosent Color Spray have a somatic component? I thought somatics were a no go when being closely hugged.
Or Am I missing something?
Male Human Haunted Nature Oracle 4 (Ac 20 Cmd 20 Will+4 Ref+2 Fort+4)
Aha! I was confused by the clear and obvious wording! Thank you.
That's a holdover from 3.5 that they did away with in PFRPG. I posted about it up-thread months and months ago, quoting SKR. They've since updated the PRD to reflect PFRPG rules too.
I'm slowly coming around to the Brutal Pugilist. Might just be the games I DM but [i]Grab]/i] comes up a lot.
That has to be the first time I've seen a gambit succeed that relied on AK rolling low on three d20s in a row. Caster high-five! ;)
I was half-expecting to come back to see a post describing Ansha's and Kieran's ribs being crushed. Definitely a better outcome! ;P
