I think it's going to be close what happens next, I don't think our attacks will drop big V but he will be very hurt.
I am wondering if he will come after me or try to paralyze Ricter. Neither of us has much chance to resist his attack.
I think in any case this lucky round gave us a chance!
I think the epic thing about this battle is that it has lasted almost 4 years :]
BTW, the attack with the missile weapons was my plan if he fell in the pit. Smite makes even a fairly mundane weapon lethal.
Regardless of what he does, our greater numbers work in our favor. Barring any AoO’s, he can only paralyze one of us, since he is using a natural attack that does not give multiple attacks. If he paralyses Richter, he gets a smite to the face from an enlarged Malthir. If he moves on Malthir, Richter smacks him with an AoO plus standard attack. And Cas has +20 on his next hit, which can be either a tanglefoot bag or melee attack. This is of course in addition to any Kip shenanigsns or weaponized heal spells from Fenna.
If he has a dimension door left, he can make a run for it, but with all of us hasted, we’ll hunt him down quickly.
All in all, our odds for victory are MUCH better than I had dared hope for just a few rounds ago.

Can you please confirm who is still hasted, because I log the not as freshly cast Haste spell expiring in Round 13. Who would have been targeted by the second Haste spell? I know Malthir and Ricter were on the list.
Edit: It can do five targets so I think is ok to assume all but Kalev.
You are right. Haste on Kip, Fenna, Kalev and Casimir expired round 13. But all except Kalev could be included in the fresh casting last round.

Let's hope that last attack is enough...no other LOH's left, expended the last 2 I had in the channel smite and big V will likely paralyze me next round.
Otherise we may be down to Casimir attacking with a CLW's wand, Fenna with a scroll of CSW's, ad Kip trying one last pit attack!

Totally agree, the worlds best fantasy writers couldn’t have scripted a more epic fight and finale. This is the ultimate heroic paladin charge. And I’m pretty sure we’re doomed if he doesn’t fall.
I literally woke up in the middle of the night and checked my phone to see if Stephen had posted the attack.
I figured that post had to have some dramatic flair!
It was a total group effort though...Kalev's epic breakup of the spell, Kip's 500 flys to get everyone in a good position, the pits to keep us alive, Casimirs inspiration to rolls, hastes, Fenna's healing...anti paralysis other's... without everything falling into place we could have easily fallen earlier.

UPDATE: I've talked to Alex and he wanted me to let you guys know that he has been admitted to hospital with pneumonia. He is currently out of the ICU and recovering, but will likely remain in hospital for at least another week or two.
I talked with Alex again today and he has had a setback and is back in the ICU. :(
Brief update. Out of hospital after two weeks last night.
Still weak as a new born pup but plan to resume posting after a week or two of bed rest. Not good for much yet.

Wow, those rolls. Pretty incredible turnaround. I thought you were done to be honest but then you pumped out 142 freaking points of damage to a high AC foe in three hits/one round!

Just a reminder. You had an opportunity to ascend earlier to a different part of the complex so you essentially have an unexplored route from the room you encountered the soul eaters.
This end of the dungeon has been fully scouted, other than the secret door Casimir seems to have discovered.
Now the fight is done I would like to reveal what spell Vordakai was casting with the full round cast time. It was of course, Summon Monster. For a large earth elemental. Which has Improved Bull Rush and a hefty CMB bonus.
I'll admit i'm kinda sad I didn't get to use that summon to shove people back into the pits :)
That's not very sporting of him :). Glad we were able to spoil his "fun".
It is my experience that this party doesn't need assistance getting into my pits. They do so frequently all on their own. :)
