Ok... I think I realize the source of my confusion... it isn't the last week of the month currently is it? You are just saying that it will be the end of this month after we do the nation building phase and level up...
EDIT:
Current Date- 10th Abadius.
So we have about 20 days in Swordhaven this month to run affairs, craft/enchant etc and level up...
Character is leveled up and ready for approval. LINK
I have about 1700gp left to spend... maybe some more potions or scrolls...
Malthir Al Dagon
Malthir will be asking for 2 days of Fenna's time this month to upgrade his Armor from +1 to +2, (3000*.5 = 1500GP).
We should probably get at least 1 other potion of purge inviso for the party items. Anything else?
Kip Bendybrook
I was under the impression that spells with range "personal" could not be made into potions... maybe a scroll instead?
Regardless, Invisibility Purge has such a short effective range (radius of 5'/CL) that it makes it quite expensive to make it useful for fighting/hunting highly mobile opponents like the Wisp.
What about scrolls of See Invisibility? Or a wand?
EDIT: I think the wand is the way to go... 1500gp for range out to vision limits and 10min/CL duration.
Kip Bendybrook
Added some magic items...
Potion of Bestow Grace (400gp)
Potion of Cure Mod. (300gp)
Wand of Exp. Retreat (CL 1) (10 charges) (150gp)
Wand of Mirror Image (CL 3) (7 charges) (630gp)
Total spent: 1480gp
WBL left: 250gp
Malthir Al Dagon
OK thought of a couple of items to add to the party list.
Buy Ilya Fireball and then have him craft 2 scrolls of fireball to use against the trolls to suppress their regen as well as 2 scrolls of haste so we can have multiple haste uses.
The issue with see inviso is that it is a grea prep spell but a poor mid combat spell since you have to use it 6 times so people can see invisible opponents vs. the purge affects everything within 'X' distance.
Scrolls would be good as well, does Kip have use magic device?
Kip Bendybrook
Kip does have Use Magic Device... to the tune of +11.
Kip Bendybrook
How about a combination of the two? A scroll of Invisibility Purge coupled with a wand of See Invisibility. The scroll reveals the Wisp when it is at close range and the wand can be used to bring the ranged hurt to the Wisp. I know ranged combat isn't this groups forte, but you only need a few taps with the wand to bring the pain. Not everyone needs See Invisibility... only those that can hurt it at range or stay with it as it moves (haste and fly).
As far as bang for the buck goes... the wand wins out big time... Scroll (Divine CL5) of Inv. Purge costs 375gp to purchase. Wand of See Invis. (CL 3) costs you 90gp per charge or 4 charges for a little less coin to purchase.
We also have glitterdust available, no? The magical bag of flour. :)
It would probably be safe to assume that there is more than one wisp around. A few scrolls might be in order... to go along with the wand.
... which also begs the question, how do you plan on specifically identifying Stisshak?
My 2cp anyhow.
Kip Bendybrook
I have heard a rumor that some of you use IM to chat...
Might I offer my IM account that you might add me?
Casimir
Cas has just picked up Glitterdust, so the obvious thing would be to equip him with with a wand of see invisibility, so he will know where to fire.
I'm considering picking up Pyrotechnics instead of Gallant Inspiration. If we are going to play with fire, that certainly gives us some extra options for battlefield control. On the other hand, the extra 2d4 to a missed roll could save some serious bacon - thoughts?
If we are going up against wisps, then Resist Energy (electricity) will make them pretty much harmless. All of you have it on your spell list (yes, it just dawned on me that every single member of the Guardians is a spellcaster) - except me. Obvious solutions is to pick up a wand, or have Ilya scribe a few scrolls (which he could do at higher CL for better duration).
I'll probably want to have a few items crafted as well, or have my sword enchanted. I'll post about it later.
Malthir Al Dagon
To be honest, if Wisps are this type of creature, Malthir plans to kill all of the ones he meets. Removing their scourge from the GreenBelt will be a boon to the area as well as remove a potential threat to SwordHaven as well as to the fishing activities that continue to grow for our Kingdom. If we plan to expand south we will have to face them eventually.
Lets' see if we can add a wand of resist elements to the mix, I think it is a good item to have around even without that threat. If we can find one with 20-25 charges it would be worth getting. Same with see invisibility.
Also get the scrolls for Ilya out of the party treasury. That should put a dent into it.
See invisibility (20) available? 1d100 ⇒ 27 cost = 1800gp
Resist Elements (25) available? 1d100 ⇒ 69 cost = 2250gp
Fireball Spell (1) available? 1d100 ⇒ 67 cost = 375
scribing 4 scrolls = 187.5*4=750gp
Okay Cas, can you add the wand of see inviso to your character?
Fenna, could you add the wand of rests to yours?
Ilya, add 2 scrolls of fireball and haste to yours please!
Okay party treasury is now back to 1204gp in case anyone thinks of anything else.
Kip Bendybrook
Hmmmm... I really tried to pick my spells with an eye towards avoiding too much duplication with the rest of the party. Perhaps I should have used a different strategy. :) I shall pick up Haste at my next opportunity.
Cas, Kip is mostly a de-buffer with a little battlefield control thrown in. I'm not sure if that influences your choice... I could add Pyrotechnics at next level as well. I gain one spell for each spell level at 7th plus deeper slumber as my bonus bloodline spell.
And I have no doubt that you will kill all wisps you encounter... I was merely commenting on how you were to bring Stisshak back for justice. :)
Of course you might not have need to find him... he may stalking you already. Mwahahahahaha!

The fact that Haste helps movement, AC, attack bonus as well as adding another attack makes it the best 3rd level spell...no other spell can replicate its damage output for arcane casters from the 3rd level list.
One suggestion for a 1st level spell to take, enlarge person. Kalev is a damage machine with that on....doesn't hurt me either...

That would work nicely, since you will have a better save DC than I do. We can do a tag-team combo, where I use spark to light something on fire, and you hit that fire with pyrotechnics immediately after.

You don't have to convince me, Haste is usually the first spell I pick up at 3rd (along with Stinking Cloud which Ilya also already has). I figured that Ilya had Haste covered for now... and that Slow would be equally beneficial... being able to severely limit a large number of multi-attacks-a-round enemies is usually a good idea. It targets a different save than Ilya's Stinking Cloud and it doesn't hurt to have a counter in case enemies cast Haste.
That being said, I'll add Haste at level 7. :)
As for Enlarge Person? I can do that... it was really down to a choice between Charm Person and that anyways. The more I can do to help the party while I am invisible... all the better I say! ;)

Works for me. I have a bunch of 2nd level spells to choose from and Pyrotechnics was on the list. I can add that next level as well. That means I am all done my spell selection for 7th level. (Enlarge Person, Pyro and Haste plus Deeper Slumber bloodline) Now I just need to live that long. ;)

Malthir has been added to my IM.
Ilya will be added pending authorization on your side I believe Tanner.
Kaylev, I got your message but something seems to have gone wrong when I tried to add you. Can you resend the request?
Thanks all.
Kip Bendybrook
Strike that last request Kaylev... all is good now.

After some discussion with Ilya... perhaps I'll forgo Haste next level and instead look at Hold Person, Dispel Magic or Magic Circle Against Evil. Probably in that order, but I'm open to thoughts on the matter.

As someone who plays a fey bloodline sorcerer in PFS, I can say that hold person is lots of fun... when you get to use it*.
*Though I think that the rarity of its effectiveness against most targets adds to the enjoyment when it does work (and the appreciation for hold monster later on).

For good or ill, Malthir would not deceive his subjects on a matter such as this. . . . These things have a tendency to get found out, then the people wouldn't believe us and then we would be back to the issue of why didn't we save others?
We either save the boy in the light, the people knowing or we let Pharasma take the boy to his final rest. :)
Fair enough--I wasn't suggesting lying, just presenting the boy alive without much further explanation to the public, but you're right about the story probably coming out somehow. With luck, your alternative solution will avoid both public resentment and constant requests for magical interventions.
Kalev Lehola
I'm getting close to something I've never tried in an RPG before...the onset of Middle Aged. Kalev is 27 (picked 25 when we started, and roughly two years have gone by since) and half-orcs age at 30/45/60.
I think it is at the same time a little "scary" (-1 to everything that Kalev does, no +1 to anything as his stats are all evens at the moment) and interesting, as it gives me a chance to roleplay something I've never tried before.
I spoke to Alex yesterday about it, and he allowed me to "roll" my effective age (I assume using 14+1d6+2) and assume I'm just a very youthful half-orc, but I haven't decided if that's what I want to do. I've considered starting to shift his focus after about 10th-12th level, going into either Cleric or Druid, to symbolize him starting to seeks out Erastil more directly. It would not be very effective from a character optimization point of view, though, so mainly an RP-thing.
What do people think? Comments are welcome.

I am hoping to add a Rod of Persistent Spell in the near future, making Hold Person even more attractive/effective.
As for the viable targets, I'm thinking that there is a very good chance I'll find targets for it considering the creatures already encountered, and those expected to be encountered in the near future. (ie. boggards, ettins, giants, kobolds, lizardfolk, ogres, trolls, werewolves etc...)

I am still refraining from commenting on the ongoing dilemma of Tig. ;)
I wasn't there.... it doesn't involve me... :)

Interesting indeed. Age penalties really hurt the martial types, no doubt about it. I'm fine with whatever you decide.
As for the very youthful part (if you decide to go that route), I wouldn't worry about it. Kaylev's stats at age 15 are his stats at age 27. His personality isn't tied to his age. His accomplishments to date, and skills, are not tied to his age. Nobody has to know his actual age... or in other words the other characters will have no reason to look at Kaylev as immature or what not. They only know what they already know about him.
There are mature young persons and immature older persons. :)
Again, do whatever interests you.
Cheers
ps Perhaps I should age Kip... ;)

D'oh!
Back to the drawing board. ;)
EDIT: Is it OK Alex if I keep fiddling with my spells known? I'll make a final decision before we leave Swordhaven?
Casimir
Like Ilya, Casimir would also like to use some of the remains of King Vesket as ingredients in a magic item, more specifically an Amulet of Natural Armor +2. Ilya should be able to craft one of those for 4.000 gp, right?

I imagine the group will have a chance for you to prove yourself before you even leave Swordhaven i'm afraid... You have until tomorrow evening if thats ok.
Kip Bendybrook
That is fine. I am mostly fretting cause I have time to sit and wait. I feel like I'm on the sidelines, waiting to get into the big game for the first time. :)
I'll take a last pass and lock it in right away today.
Kip Bendybrook
And this is definitely something good! :)
The site is mostly for posting treasure lists and kingdom updates/maps etc. these days yes?
I added you to my IM. I'll send you my email via IM.
EDIT: I'm just going to leave my spells... they are what they are. :) Sorry Kaylev, I'll add Enlarge Person next level.
EDIT #2 You know what... instead of swapping out my spell, I'll just add a wand of Enlarge Person instead.

@Casimir
If we have the time, Ilya would be happy to make it. Hmm... an amulet...
Ilya presents Casimir with his new amulet; several of King Vesket's teeth, bound with steel from the Five King's mountains into a five-pointed star. Delicate scrimshaw traces runes of arcane protection on the teeth.
How's that sound?

Like the swaggest piece of bling on the block! Thanks.
After careful consideration, Cas would also like to order a headband of alluring charisma +2 from the fashion-savvy elven wizard.
He will also purchase two spring loaded wrist sheaths, for storing wands.
Casimir
Hmmm...not precisely what I imagined, but not bad.
HeroLab also reminded me that my lone rank in Disable Device is pretty much wasted with out tools to work with, so Casimir also purchases a set of MW thieves tools.
