About an hour after the spider ambush, the PCs and
Sarenite refugees finally reach the Vault of Sarenrae.
In the center of this large, natural cavern, easily more than
forty feet in height, stands the ruin of a truly ancient temple
constructed of chipped grey and white marble. Its domed
roof collapsed long ago, but the structure is otherwise in
remarkably good shape. Where doors must once have hung, a
small campfire now burns, surrounded by piles of ragged but
neatly folded bedding.
Will have a map up later today or tomorrow/depending on the website acting up or not

"You fought well, Snowball. Your welcome." Evarice smiles as the party moves on.
At the campsite, Evarice lets her keen elven eyes scan the campsite.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
"Hello? Anyone here? We come in peace."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Map should be up
Seven people sit huddled around the small
campfire to ward off the damp and cold of the cavern.
As soon as they spot the approaching party, they pick
up wooden clubs and leap to their feet suspiciously. One
of the cult members calls out, “Well met by moonlight,
sisters and brothers, but soon the dawn will come!” Upon
hearing the coded greeting, the cultists by the fire set
down their weapons and welcome the party and their
fellow Sarenites to the camp.

The Sarenite who spoke introduces himself as Akkuret
Akkuret invites the new arrivals into the ancient
temple, offering them seats in the recently constructed
pews. All are given food and wine, and while everyone
is eating and drinking, Akkuret states that he wishes to
discuss some new developments with the group.

"Greetings, Akkuret. I see you have all had better days..." Evarice sees the tired, the weary survivors. "But worry not. We will bring Dalsine to justice, and you will be able to worship Saranae openly, without fear."

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |

Akkuret knows that Chalfon Dalsine’s plans to foment
all-out war between the Pathfinder Society’s rival factions
come to fruition tonight, There is lots of trouble going on above us between the Pathfinders and Dalsine ] says the lay priest.

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |

Si. I had to get a new modum yesterday and it was acting up this morning so let's get ahead while we can

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |

Well his goal is to make sure that the Pathfinders and the Church of the Dawnflower are exposed, for what ever purpose he wants, perhaps war? Perhaps profit? he says in response to the dwarf's query.,

![]() |

Any assistance we can provide before we leave? Do you have injured? A route of eventual escape? a leader?
This seems to be a particularly inept and uninformed secret society... Hadanka thinks to himself.

![]() |

"Hádanka has a good point. This kind of persecution will continue until Chalfon Dalsine is defeated." She stands up and checks her equipment. "We should get going. Who knows what else he has planned."

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |

And why would you want to stop this from happening? Do you care about the followers of the Dawnflower? inquires the cleric.

![]() |

Garn, who has been silent all this while leaving the more talkative members of his party to speak, suddenly rumbles, "No one should be killed for what they believe." The usually gruff voice carries a strange catch, as if he was speaking from personal experience.

![]() |

"My militia prided themselves on purging the guilty. When it was demons, slavers and the corrupted, it was easy to justify our violence. Evil has no place in this world, no beauty to it." Evarice sits back down, lost in thought as she chooses her next words.
"But our new leader changed our goal; now we hunted those who didn't agree with us completely. He was too zealous in his work, and sought to abuse the balance between life and death. I undercovered his association with demons and presented it to the commander, but by then it was too late: he already fled, corrupted by his new demon master and the bodies of our fallen friends."
"I found solace in the Eternal Rose that is Shelyn, and she has blessed me with the power to live on. Sarenae will similarly help and protect you all. That's why I want to help. Dalsine has no right to interfere in your journey to enlightenment."

You do care for the followers of the Dawnflower it seems he says and looks up in alarm. Excuse me for a moment he says as he moves down the stairs. He draws his scimitar and apologies [b] I am sorry but I cannot allow anyone to leave this place, My Master cannot be disturbed.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
"Your...master?" Evarice stands up and readies her glaive. "Damn, we've been had. Dawnflowers, stand back!."

Sensing the danger, Garn pulls out a couple of wands and drops them on the floor. He then concentrates briefly as he forms morphs into that of a dinosaur!

The deinonychus that now stands in Garn's place roars in anger at the deceit, and he gestures at Snowball towards the enemy.

A traitor am I? the cleric states One is only a traitor if it believes in the cause it betrays. No, fools, I am your death and I remain true to the goals of my Master he says as he shimmers a bit and takes on his true appearance, that of a hairless, leathery biped has a face dominated by grotesque and unsettling whorls and slits instead of actual features.

![]() |

"Fine, you're not a traitor. You're just a damned puppet, doomed to cause misery without purpose." She draws her glaive and casts Doom on Akkuret. "I pity you."
Will Save DC 13 or be Shaken for 4 minutes.
Is there a Knowledge skill I can use to identify Akkuret and what it is? I have +5 to K. Planes and +8 to K. Religion, please add them to this roll if they apply.
1d20 ⇒ 17

"Great grey gods! What manner of thing are you!" Ragnar thunders!

I am assuming the wierd thing in the center is the only one that visually appears to be threatening so far. So Hadanka will close with it. If the others visually appear threatening, Hadaka will stop at the closest and hit him. They probably won't apply, but I will give my knowledge checks that I have. I don't see some of our team on the map.
knowledge local: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

There is a minor error in the fact that everyone got bolded. The order is actually Evarice - Baddy - everyone else. Let's give Terevalis time to post the enemy actions and a way to deal with the monster knowledge checks we'll make on our turns.

Knowledge dungeonerring reveals that this is a faceless stalker, an aberration Special Attacks: blood drain and sneak attack
dr except for piercing or slashing. It is the only treat, but what a threat it is, in the room

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |

Been having internet problems and had a community college interview today so I want to post while I can

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |

The creature has a reach and attacks the closest PC to him, in this case the dwarf and punches him
1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 2 = 11
1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 2 = 9 damage
2d6 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7 sneak attack
GRApple 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 barely not making the grab but still inflicting 16 pts of damage

![]() |

So now it is everyone's turn except Evarice.
kn dungoneering: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
"It is a Faceless Stalker. An evil creature. Don't bother using blunt weapons on it."
Liminy will cast Grease under it. DC 19 Ref or it falls prone.

![]() |

What happened to Evarice's doom spell? If it failed the saving throw, it would be shaken, have a -2 to attack and hence missed Ragnar.
Garn, completes his transformation into a dinosaur. Noticing the reach of the monster, he hops closer just within his reach, ready next round to step in. At the same time, he gesticulates with his claw, sending the signal to Snowball to attack.

![]() |

Getting the command, Snowball moves straight at the creature snarling with his open maw, biting at its torso.
bite: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22 for dmg: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 and if it hits trip: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
If the stalker falls prone due to the grease, Snowball gets +4 to attack. If he doesn't, then trip attempt against the creature's CMD if he hits.
I think the stalker would get an AoO against Snowball.

![]() |

The hearty dwarf lets out a cry of surprise and pain as the monster attacks! Ragnar tries to cast a shocking grasp spell defensively! Concentration, DC 17: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30 He suceeds and tries to touch the vile creature! Touch o' ELECTRICITY!: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 But fails to touch him. He holds the charge!
