Lawful doesn't have to mean conformity to the laws of a specific region or government. Lawful can mean consistent with a set of principles and guidelines.
This is my philosophy. Cheliax is filled with lawful characters, yet what they do would be considered very illegal in other cultures. That doesn't make the Chelaxian Chaotic when he visits a different society. They are still lawful to the code they follow.
Same with good v. evil. He could consider it a good act to kill someone who's clearly evil and who has also committed great evil.
I'm not sure this is quite as varied, but as I said, I think what he did in that context was essentially neutral and I've seen a hefty number of stat blocks for executioners that were not evil.
Anyway, again, my point was not to start a debate on alignment. I just wanted to explain as the GM where I came down on it.

*thumbs up* Glad we touched base on it before hand Snow.

As a bit of commentary...
There's not a whole lot in Paizo's books about Osiris (maybe because leaning in to heavily into Earth's mythology for Golarion gods felt a bit on-the-nose), but what's there pegs him as a more positive and supportive Pharasma: concerning himself with the souls of the the dead and the living. For Bashiel, I saw an opportunity to explore that via a Paladin archetype dedicated to fighting undead (Ghost Hunter), to make a more militant 'crusading' sort of character.
bolding mine
Obviously I'm not following the code to the letter, as that would be awfully impractical (I would have been forced to destroy Zellara's deck back at the beginning of book 1 to free her soul, but deny us all the fun of her Harrowings in the process). But I am using it for RP inspiration and general guidance. In my mind, the code provides pretty clear direction that personally punishing those who defile the dead is just and right in Osiris' eyes (ie. LG).

Hey all. I’ve come down with the flu which is why I haven’t been posting. My apologies. Hoping I recover soon (for many reasons!).

Seems like the flu has been spreading wide this year, for the first time multiple people I know in real life have come down with it. Hopefully you recover soon Snow!

As a heads up for everyone: I'll be out on vacation from 12/16 through 1/6. Normally I'd try to keep up with games during this time, but this time round I'll be travelling to places with some pretty dodgy internet and don't think staying up-to-date will be easy.
Feel free to either bot me or have Bashiel fade into the background for the next few weeks. Don't go get TPK'd while I'm gone :>
If I don't get a chance to post, have a great Christmas and New Years all!

Merry Christmas. :)

Same to you! I hope everyone is doing well and that we can start back up soon.
Kalem, when you say training will impact the campaign, I hope you mean you will still continue, even if you can't post as much.

Happy new year all!
For the rest of my trip I should have internet, so I'm ready to resume when you guys are.

A year later I found a lamp with a genie in it. Out of curiosity I asked what happened to Snowheart. The genie laugh like a lunatic and offered me another wish.

Flying back from vacation tomorrow, so things should be back to normal for me soon. Not sure I will be able to post tomorrow, but should be golden by Saturday.
Zamanda
Might just be vacation/holiday mess still. I'm not headed back to work till Monday, and some jobs get super busy around this time as well, so could easily be family or work. Also, Bash had posted that he wouldn't be back till tomorrow, so that could just mean game on pause until everyone can play, right?

Hey folks,
It's been nearly a month since we last heard from GM Snowheart and it doesn't appear he's posted in any of his other campaigns recently either. While I would love for him to show up at any moment to get us moving again, realistically, I think we need to start considering a future where he doesn't return.
So... I guess the first question we all need to answer is, do we want to try to find a way to continue without Snowheart?
Bashiel Eland
Yeah, the thing that worries me is that the last discussion message from Snow was about the flu. Fingers crossed its just work and family stuff taking him away from Paizo forums gaming on a longer-term basis.
I definitely would want to continue this one. Very much invested in the story and characters.
I'd be OK with trying to find a replacement. I'd offer to replace him myself, but I've already taken over a Starfinder Dead Suns game from Snow (did so early last year, I think), and I'm not sure if I have enough bandwidth for running another long-term campaign.
Any potential replacement is going to have a seriously high barrier of GMing quality to meet though!

Yeah, this is the saddest part of PbP. We started this almost two years ago, believe it or not. The PbP format requires a lot of consistent effort and diligence over years from 6-7 complete strangers.
Players put a lot of time and energy into their characters. We started with Gregor, Brin the Baker, Quinlan, and then the rest of our original group. I can barely understand how people put all that effort into the character and drop out after a month or two, but that happened here and we got our great replacements.
The most important role, of course, is the GM. Snowheart performed that role with amazing consistency for two years, and then just dropped off the face of the earth without a word.
Of course, we all hope something dreadful didn't happen to Snowheart, but more likely life caught up and took too much time, and we're left wondering.
I've been involved in perhaps a dozen of these types of long-term games over five years, and regretfully they all seem to fizzle at some point. We have all put so much energy into these characters...I hate to see this die.
Of course I'd welcome Pel taking the reigns.

A good while back (before joining this campaign) I was actually considering starting my own CotCT campaign, so I’ve read through the adventure and have the hardcover, updated version. I would want to take at least two or three days to refresh my memory as I’ve purposefully avoided reading the AP since joining the group.
I would like to hear from everyone before we try to nail something down. If y’all are open to the possibility, though, I would encourage you to check out the games I currently GM and see if you think my style would be suitable for the group. For instance, I know my formatting for combat is a bit different.
As Ilsa mentioned, too many games die on these forums and I would hate for this to be another casualty. I really think we have a good chance to finish if we keep going.

I don’t want to move on without Snowheart but I understand the necessity of doing so. I don’t want this game to die.

I just checked out your Hell's Rebels game and it looks like its going great! I think you'll do just fine GMing here. In my mind the most important thing is that you're ready and willing to take on a serious commitment in terms of time and effort.
Because the worst situation would be if this game is the straw that leads to burnout because your GMing load is too high.
Pellius Alazario
Hopefully we'll hear from Zamanda soon-ish, too.
Thank you for the reminder about burnout, Bashiel. I try to be mindful about that. It's one of the reason I've become a lot more selective when it comes to applying to campaigns. In this case, it helps a bit that I'm already involved in the adventure (though granted it's still a whole lot more work to GM it than be a player in it).
Alright. Let me take the weekend to think it over. I'll let y'all know yea or nay as to whether or not I'm ready and willing by Monday.
Zamanda
I'm in.
Pellius Alazario
I thought about it the last couple days. I also reviewed the AP. The more I did, the more excited I became. So yes, I'm ready and willing to GM for us if y'all will have me. I want to see this AP through to the end. : )
While I'm sure there will be tweaks and adjustments along the way, if I GM the game, I plan to do my best to be faithful to what GM Snowheart's already written and to honor his legacy as much as possible. I'm open to any and all feedback, either via the discussion thread or via PM. As Bashiel mentioned, there's a seriously high barrier of GMing quality to follow up on from GM Snowheart, so please don't hesitate to speak up if something is amiss.
So to confirm and make it official... is everyone good with me GMing the game going forward?
