Zamanda
Pretty sure it is in reference to me, so no worries to the rest of you. I'll dial it down.
Thanks, Kalem. You're hilarious. ;)
Kalem Darkborn
Bluff: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18
Aasimar actually. The glowing eyes? Heavenly fire? Not sure how you could have gotten so confused.
---
And of course this is when I roll low on bluff. :p
---
By the way. Fun story time. I had a Tiefling monk for a different campaign. He had at-will Infernal Healing. Only usable by bleeding on people. The problem was that he was "pragmatic-evil" and unashamed of it. And the party was aware that Infernal Healing as a spell was 'evil.' So it was a constant struggle for them on whether or not to accept the free healing.
His claim to fame was trying to out punch a giant. Said giant put her fist through his chest. The splatter of gore from the blow stabalized the dying npc who was under him.
Bashiel Eland
Lol Kalem, I want to be part of that game :>
Also wow, between Zamanda and Kalem we're going to have quite the insane bluff team. I love how the two characters are both about lying, but go about it in totally different ways.
BTW: I've realized that for the sake of bookkeeping its a lot easier to put all gold in the loot log and then split it up evenly from there. A lot easier to keep track of that way. So if we pick up some gold, assume it'll get distributed next time we sell items (or check the Loot Log for details).
If we have time, and Snow is open to it, selling all our loot and splitting things before we get back to Cressida will make it really easy to add Zamanda and Pellius once they join the party. We'll see if we have the chance.
I'll update the loot log tomorrow with all the stuff from Devargo's room, assuming we get out without being backstabbed.
Bashiel Eland
OH and Snow, I hear you on the requests! Also, don't worry about the story pushing ahead without Bashiel getting a chance to post. It was pretty fun to come back home and realize things changed a lot! Really gets the creative brain working. :>
Quinlan
Quinlan could be the party's moral compass but his are relatively loose, so maybe not such a good idea after all.
GM Snowheart
Just a heads up, I'm going to be on the road this afternoon and then out of town this weekend. I'll try to keep up via my iPhone but you know how those keyboards are, and I'm not sure what the connectivity situation is going to be where we're heading.
Varor
So here's something interesting I noticed yesterday. I was looking through Dragons Unleashed and found that one of the dragon's hoards contained a liver in a jar. I'm wondering if that was actually one of Arazni's missing organs, as her liver is one of her missing organs.
Bashiel Eland
Enjoy the trip Snow! I think we have plenty to catch up on. Both Eel's End fallout stuff and introducing the new characters!

@Bashiel:
I'm thinking now would be a good time for a loot distribution before we add the new guys. They're at 3000 gp, I believe, and right now I think we're a little behind. If we distribute, we should hopefully catch up, and then we'll be at blank slate going forward.
Ya?
Varor
Well I just spent 20 minutes writing out things for Bashiel's and Ilsa's little character moments only to be beaten to the punch by Quinlan.
Quinlan
sorry
Bashiel Eland
@Ilsa: Yep, thats the plan. We just need an identify/detect magic/spellcraft on some of the last loot picked up. Without Brin, I think you're the only person who can do that now! Maybe Snow will be willing to cut us a break on identification just so that we can have a clean slate when picking up the two new party members.
Ilsa Dreambind
|
Yeah, could I take 20 on any new items? We didn't find much that was magical aside from potions, right?
Take 20 perception should do it if we only have potions.
Bashiel Eland
Its all been added to the loot table, if you'd like to check Ilsa. I've put notes next to the things that could use a detect magic sweep to check if they're magical, as well as things we could use an appraise or spellcraft on (theres a scroll in there, for example).

spellcraft dagger: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
spellcraft leather armor: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
I'll detect magic and try on anything else that is magical, in this order: boots, cloak, amulet, necklace, horn, ring, scroll, pouch with dust...
spellcraft: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
spellcraft: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
spellcraft: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
spellcraft: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
spellcraft: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
spellcraft: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
spellcraft: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Bashiel Eland
Sounds like a plan Pellius. We'll be relying on you for that in the future too :>
GM Snowheart
Winces. Ilsa, that string of rolls is almost as bad as my round 1 roll for the last combat. I'll have items up for you shortly. I'll just tell you what they are since you're in no hurry and could probably get them identified at a shop.
Ilsa Dreambind
|
Yeah, I was never planning to be our primary arcanist, and will likely never have more than a handful of points in spellcraft an an average Int.
Glad we'll have Pellius to do that. Hopefully we can get all the loot divided and then we'll hand that duty over to him. :)
Kalem Darkborn
==Loot Identifications==
(Let me know if I've missed something)
* Gaedren had a +1 dagger and +1 padded armor (did you get the armor, or was that lost with him?)
* Devargo had +1 leather aror
* Devargo's lair had:
- ring of feather fall (cameo of a dragonfly)
- scroll of blur
- elixir of love
- two pouches of dust of appearance
-- Gold Values for non-magical items and Magical Status (Y/N) updated on Loot chart; names left unchanged
Anyone want anything? I see nothing of any value to Kalem.
Bashiel Eland
Ring of feather falling is tempting, but quite expensive (I'm getting flashbacks to a certain Magnimarian clock tower where I would have loved to have it). Otherwise yes, not much for Bashiel either.
AS A HEADS UP: I'll leave the current set of items up for the next couple of days for people to make their picks. On Wednesday I'll do the math and make a gold distribution post in Discussion. After that I guess we can go on shopping sprees!
Quinlan
Nothing there that Quin really wants... the gold from the sale would be nice though.
Bashiel Eland
Wow, I guess if we hear in from Varor before Wednesday I'll cut it off early and send the gold out.
GM Snowheart
Anything else you need from me on that point (or anything else)? I'd like to hook you guys up with Zamanda and Pel as soon as possible so they're not left hanging in the wind on RP.
Bashiel Eland
Other than my most recent post in gameplay, nope!
I guess we'll make our sales/purchases 'off camera' and move straight to Cressida, Zamanda and Pellius in the mean time?
Zamanda
You guys... don't sell that ring when you could use it. You only get half price for selling things. I had a 15th level character die from the spell reverse gravity once. Those things are life-saving.
Varor
Look over the loot lest and there's nothing I want to keep. Although someone should probably grab that potion of cure moderate wounds.
GM was the very nice dagger I picked up the plus one dagger you mentioned?
GM Snowheart
GM was the very nice dagger I picked up the plus one dagger you mentioned?
Remind me where you got it from? If it was from Vancaskerkin, it's gone. (It was the Rakshasa.)
Bashiel Eland
Varor's 'very nice' dagger was from Gaedren. Thats the +1 dagger.
I'll leave things in the loot log open until tomorrow in case anyone changes their mind and wants the CMW potion (its 50% off because its found loot :>) or anything else.
Looks like most people are getting about 1.6k gold from sales this time around, so you can start planning what you wanna buy.
Kalem Darkborn
Nice. Thanks for the book keeping!
So I'll have about 2.5k gold. Can I buy a wayfinder and ioun stone?
Considering spending 1k on a cloak of resistance
500 for a wayfinder, and 200 for a cracked pink and green ioun stone
Total of 1700 gold. Get +1 fort, +1 ref, +2 will, and +1 bluff.
As a Str based urban bloodrager his Ref and Will saves hurt. Seems more useful than a +1 Weapon.
Bashiel Eland
HUNGRY FOR DELICIOUS DELICIOUS GOLD? IT IS HERE!
After a big delay, we're finally able to assign all of the old loot in the log and have a (more or less) blank slate as we add Zamanda and Pellius. This means:
So, after this wave of sales, here are your gold gains:
Bashiel: +1448.00gp
Kalem: +1598.00gp
Ilsa: +1598.00gp
Varor: +597.00gp
Quinlan: +1598.00gp
Enjoy your shopping :>
Quinlan
done shopping:
sold: rapier
purchased: MW rapier
traveler's any-tool
cracked magenta prism ioun stone
wayfinder
MW thieves' tools
20 silver arrows
20 cold iron arrows
Bashiel Eland
Oops, I remembered this morning that I'd forgotten to add the excess bribing gold to the above numbers. We had 950 gp remaining, so...
Extra bonus gold, splitting the 950 gp:
Each person: +190.00 gp
All the rest of the gold we picked up at Eel's End has already been included in the numbers above.
GM Snowheart
On the topic of loot...
I took the liberty of adding another sheet to Bashiel's loot chart. It's for loot preferences. To the extent that I can tailor some loot drops (weapons, armor, misc.), please add to that chart what types of things your characters would use. (Thus reducing an abundance of +1 daggers and mwk hand crossbows.) ;-)
Zamanda
So, with this loot distribution, what happens when something amazingly cool drops that no one can afford to own, but would greatly benefit the party? Or an item that you really want, but you don't currently have the cash? Is there flexibility in this system, or just sell it and the people have to buy it later for full price?
Bashiel Eland
What we've done so far Zamanda is that as long as people agree, the item stays in 'shared party loot' limbo for a while until the person who wants it can afford to own it. The person who wanted it essentially has it on loan for a while (they can use it if they want). We did that with the +1 dagger from Lamm: Varor wanted to pick it up but it wasn't until now that we had enough liquid cash rolling around.
If something is truly a 'whole party' resource, we can split the cost. We did that with a Wand of CLW that Varor is holding onto.
@Snow Thanks, that'll be pretty great! Please put in a couple of Holy Avengers on the next random mook. Please :>
