I believe most animals just have low-light vision, other than bats which have blindsense or blindsight...unfortunately bats are tiny and dire bats are large. Pretty much all animals have scent at least, though. Scent pinpoints within 5 feet.

I just realised, it will work like 'harm' on undead: that's 110 points of damage, save for half.
It can't reduce below 1hit point but if we've got three or four charges then it could win the day for us!

If anyone here is interested, going to have a slot open in the Reign of Winter game I'm running. Our own Helaku was a player in it and he hasn't checked in to that game in quite some time as well, so I'll be looking to bring in a new 4th PC.. some others here (CH and Leonar) are already in the game as well.

@Aleste - When you found the staff back in Vraath Keep, it had seven charges remaining. Aleste and Leonar together cast Raise Dead from it to bring back Helaku, which consumed five charges of the staff. So two charges remaining. Yes, it's Heal ability could deal out considerable harm to an undead creature. :)

Okay guys, I just read through the entire thread all the way back to post #1 to get a hold on all the our treasure, and we have been absolutely AWFUL about claiming treasure or otherwise collecting it, haha!

We have tons of stuff we have come across and have never sold/traded, and a lot of that stuff we never even said we took. I guess we need to decide with the GM how we want to treat things now...I'd imagine we wouldn't have taken most of the mundane gear, but we have come across tons of magical arms and armor that we kind of just ignored. We have only purchased things from NPCs twice the whole game ! Depending on how much of this stuff we are saying we still have in our possession, we have a huge amount of stuff to trade or sell if we make it to a large town or city. Here's the compiled list, all the way back to the first encounter when we were ambushed on the road:

Wow, that's quite a list. If you don't mind I ought to go through the posts as well to verify. Apart from that, no problem with keeping items as you've earned it. I had been thinking recently that you'd accumulated some stuff but hadn't had much opportunity for selling loot, but I did think you had liquidated some of the treasure from your earlier adventures.

We can carry on in the meantime, assuming you survive the perils of the Ghostlord's lair then we can ensure a stop at a population center, and you can cash in your treasure, stock up on supplies, etc.

I'm hoping to post a game update this time tomorrow, needing to address another game at the moment.

It was a trip reading back through everything. We really have been in some epic fights. You're completely entitled to double check me, of course, so no worries. You might be right about selling more stuff...I kind of thought we did too but the only exchanges I saw were when we first got to Drellin's Ferry and bought the horses and stuff.

Actually though, now that I think on it, I myself bought some oils of bless weapon and potions of protection from evil which I didn't factor in, so I must have missed that bit, and anything anyone else did at that time. I think that was when we got back from the Bridge.

I also forgot to mention in the last post that I didn't track potion usage, so that count of 25 CMW might be a bit lower. I was going to go through and find instances of us using potions but at that point my eyes were about dead, ha.

I wouldn't mind taking the ring of protection at all. The bracers are probably bracers of armor considering we just fought some monks. Aleste can make the best use of the headband.

No worries, I'll have a look through, I'm still going through your Reign of Winter thread to compile a treasure list - were you wanting to put that on the campaign thread? When I finish that I'll do the same with this game, to make sure you've all not been getting shortchanged anywhere. I think definitely some of the potions have been used, and I think some of the gear was sold in one of the towns either just before or just after your party ventured into the Blackfens and Rhest. However, I'd need to go back and check to be sure, it's been a while.

In the meantime, which way are you all heading next? Back down the stairs to the Stone Lion's entrance? The doorway? The secret passage?

I'm still going through the threads myself, though I expect to get the same results as Ambrose. It's more for my benefit, just wanting to do due diligence as a GM. Slow going as I didn't want to slow down the game, but I'm hoping to have list confirmed by the time the group is somewhere they can spend the loot.

I'd suggest, if it doesn't look like we've sold it, go ahead and use the mace. It has been quite a while since the group has sold gear, so you all have quite a bit of goodies to choose from.

Hi sorry things have been so quiet. Unwelcome news.

Basically, my aged computer has finally packed in. Along with campaign notes and maps. Backups aside, I really haven't the funds to effect repairs so I'm going to be without a computer or data for the foreseeable future.

There are probably ways around it, but I'm thinking it forces another issue that I've been struggling with for a while. Between work and family free time's really been zero and it's been a struggle to find opportunities to write posts. Frustrating as I've really been enjoying Red Hand of Doom and you all have stuck with it for so long I was determined to bring the game to a good end. We got so far through the adventure! Given the circumstances though it might be best to wind it up here.

I'll take a look through the list and see if anything is particularly useful.

It seems that the wand of magic missile would be useful. Tis not much damage of course (3d4+3), but an auto-hit with force damage every round can have its moments.
