Adria strolls into the room holding her magic knife behind her back. Hello Doctor P. It's me Adria Darkling. Don't suppose you remember me?

Nilus won't let the pretty lady go in there without backup.

Nilus trails along like a well heeled attack dog....who wants desperately to smash this hellboy's face.

He sharply turns, takes a moment and smiles broadly.

Adria...yes. You have come to serve me? Yes? he smiles knowing that is not the case.

I never took you for a fool Palaveen. But I am surprised you completed the ritual. Invincibility is seductive, for sure. What did Asmodeus ask of you in return? Adria tries her best to put on a caring compassionate face. please don't ask her for a bluff check *cross fingers*

Garand whispers, "What do you mean, invulnerable to weapons?"

I mean invulnerable. As in cannot be harmed by them. This is the darkest of pacts. most of the Asmodean priestesses at the temple would never even consider it. The dark devil who bestows this ability usually demands an exacting price for it. We may be in trouble here, guys and gals.

Palveen speaks loud enough for the rest of the Bastards to hear and they walk into the room. Including a huge Tifeling with enormous claws that must have created the caves you walked through.

You know this Tifeling will let you walk right up him and take you best shot as the group of rouges looks on.

Adria approaches Palaveen seductively. She reaches inside her robes and brings forth a second dagger which is presently glowing with golden light. Come here, she says. Adria wraps her arms around his neck, kisses him on the cheek. Then with zero emotion she slowly slides the blade into the nape of his neck. Goodbye old friend she whispers. Does Palaveen slump to the floor, haha?

Adria kneels next to the slumped body of the Teifling. With a look on her face as though she is eating rich chocolate, she cuts his heart out with her glowing blade, and smiles.

Backsliding a bit aren't we? Garand will ask with a raised eyebrow.

How many more are there? If we're in combat Garrand will start an inspirational tune.

Nilus has no effing clue what is going on....

I set this up for Adria to do some cool stuff and get some fame.

Adria slides the dagger into Palveen's neck. For a second he remains smiling. Then it's as if his blood ignites and his skin starts to melt away!

NO What have you done to me?! This is not possible! Then he begins to beg and plead with unseen forces as you see his soul ripped from his body by beings so terrible you are forced to look away before you loose all sanity!

All of the gathered Bastards flee after seeing their leader die begging for mercy. All that is except for the Tifeling with the giant claws. He goes into a rage and charges at Adria!

Sorsha moves into flanking while still allowing Nilus room to attack as well.

She hits sandy for 7.

Adria watches her Archon Knife evaporate. She knew finding that thing in the temple vault was too good to be true. An Angelic Blade is one of the most powerful artifacts she had ever heard of.

I would love for your to roleplay about how Adria killed Palveen and why the hell did she cut out his heart? This is the end of the first chapter of Council of Theives and you are level 4 now! I assume everyone wants to continue to the second book?

Also If you do not understand why I did it this way. I looked at the encounters ahead and it was just you fighting a handful of tifelings with crossbows and a couple of magic users. Tabletop that would be great but I am ready to move on to something more fun. I hope you agree.

Days probably. We need to figure out a way to announce to the city that the bastards reign of terror is ended. And more importantly that we ended it.

Well the AP assumes you wear uniforms, that's your choice, but at the very least word will get around that A human fighter, a Halfling Rogue, a Elf Bard, and a hot chick took out the entire gang of Bastards. It will not be hard for you to convince people that was you four.

Well, Garrand is a bard so I guess it wouldn't be too difficult to sing our praises. :-)

Well I take GMs words as authorizing creative liscence...so here't goes:)

A few weeks ago in the temple archives I came across a secret room. Inside was a glass case that contained that Archon knife and a parchment with the true terms of the pact between Westcrown and Asmodeus. Besides the horrible things Westcrown will have to do under the pact, the parchment claimed that the pact would be en force as long as hearts resided in the chests of teiflings who worshiped asmodeus. So the only way to legally end the pact is to cut them ALL out...right?

Adria holds up Palaveen's heart and smiles sweetly.

So I thought I'd start with this one.

"Nice souvenir. What does one do with the excised hearts of their enemies? Stuffed and mounted on a placard over the mantel? Pickled in a jar of alcohol? Have a rousing game of tether heart?"

I'll show you. Here Garrand, hold it for a second...

"You're giving me your heart? I'm touched." Garrand says dryly making no attempt to actually touch the still steaming heart.

Adria drops the slimey heart on the ground. She turns her nose up at her own bloody hands. Fine. But I don't suppose you could spare a hankercheif?

Garrand rolls his eyes dramaticly, "Sure, and now I'm your drycleaner"
