Sabinus
But then Sabinus sees a group of seemingly formidable persons stage a stealthy attack on the Bastards, and gain entrance into one of the buildings. Recognizing this as the best chance he’s likely to get, Sabinus sneaks up to the shop window and peers inside, in time to see several of the intruders heading into the basement. He watches, and after a few moments it becomes clear that the group has encountered resistance below, probably tiefling guards investigating the lack of a report from the tower, but perhaps one of the undead it is said guards the hideout.
In any event, if Sabinus is to ally himself with this group in taking on the Bastards, this is the time to offer his assistance. He casts mage armor on himself. Finding the door to the shop unlocked, Sabinus slips inside and heads towards the top of the stairs. He hopes the scholarly-looking Chelaxian and the Halfling at the top of the stairs don’t get in his way before he shows them what he can do. . .
Slumber hex (will save DC 15; sleep for 3 rounds) on the closest standing tiefling. If he needs to descend the stairs to target a tiefling he will do so. If there are no enemies in sight when he finishes his move action to the stairs (or down the stairs), then he will hold the sleep hex as a readied action to cast on the first tiefling that comes into view.

Mmmm..mummy?
The Viscount reaches into his pouch and drops the copper with light move action for his unseen servant to retrieve.
He summons forth a celestial eagle Cast summon monster I.

This is round 2/5 for the elemental- he can move 20' through the earth- is the floor tiled or packed earth? If so, he would swim toward the sound of stomping enemies, ready to slam anyone who comes near.

Round 1 - Resolved
After the appearance of the tiefling reinforcements, Caladius acts. Moved in Init to after the baddies.
Caladius' eyes widen as the large tiefling shifts into view, "Biiiig tiefling incoming, he looks like a biter." His typical stone-faced countenance then suddenly shifts to an angry grimace and his eyes narrow dangerously as he fixes his attention on the undead. His voice comes out as a harsh growl, "And a mummy too. Good." He drops his sword to the ground and snaps off two shots at the big tiefling. But with surprising agility, the large tiefling dodges one arrow, and raises one giant, long-clawed fist, and the arrow smashes into it and shatters into tiny pieces. It looks up at Caladius, pointed teeth bared in the darkness.
Round 2
Enko says, "We should not advance towards them," Enko says in a calm, clear voice. "We could get trapped as others advance from the west. Shoot them as they come, and let them come to us." Enko loads a sling bullet, drawing up on one foot, ready to dodge any blow. AC boost noted and lantern direction shifted to be more advantageous.
Corneleous stammers, "Mmmm..mummy?" The Viscount reaches into his pouch and drops the copper with light move action for his unseen servant to retrieve, which it does and holds up high. Moving partially down the steps, he begins a spells, the arcane movements very similar to other summoning spells he's cast. It's packed earth and stone. The earth elemental moving into the rock, towards the sounds of the wizards enemies.
Lucon makes his way to the front lines, to the right and down from Caladius, then down again, and ready an attack, careful not to get into his comrade's line of fire.
Amon keeps his weapon readied, and watches in trepidation as the fight moves deeper inside.
Ava steps behind Caladius and crouches, hurling a dart past him at the tremendous tiefling approaching. The dart soars past him harmlessly, ricocheting off the wall and into the ground.
Dravano - The huge tiefling lumbers towards Lucon up the twisting tunnel, and stops ten feet away. It stares into Lucons eyes, then turns suddenly and swipes in a flurry of motion at the tunnel wall beside him, and disappears into the rock.
The mummy shuffles over and a bit farther behind the other tieflings, raising its flaking and grey skin at Lucon, then a bone flies out from beneath it's bindings. The path of the bone is anything but straight, winding down and around the tower shield then right into Lucons thigh. -3hp Lucon
T-Rogue1, illuminated in Enko's bulls-eye lantern, turns and concentrates over the bolt of the tiefling next to him, instead of shooting his own crossbow. Suddenly that entire section of tunnel is plunged into darkness, a darkness which the lanterns light cannot penetrate.
T Rogue2 - After a moment, the globe of darkness suddenly rushes up the tunnel towards you, and Lucon feels something thud into the opposite side of his tower shield. He simultaneously realizes he can no longer see his hand in front of his face. To the rest of you, except Caladius and Ava, Lucon seems to have been swallowed up sudden darkness.
T Rogue3, still visible by Caladius and Ava, concentrates on a coin and tosses it at his feet.
....
Caladius attacks the mummy at the other end of the corridor, his first is wide, but his second shot just barely missing the creature. If it weren't for the bodies between him and the terrible creature fouling his shot, that second arrow would've surely struck the intended target.
Enter Sabinus.. A thin figure in a dark grey cloak slips into the shop and strides past Amon down near the bottom of the stairs. He carries a sickle in his right hand, lowered at his side. He states flatly, “I’m on your side.” Without giving the others a chance to react, he raises his left arm and points a pale, long-nailed finger down the tunnel, waiting for an enemy to appear. Readied action.

We should invest in some kind of darkness dispelling torches in case this comes up again! Heightened continuual flames should do the trick, and it seems fitting that the Torchbearers should carry some torches. :D

The Viscount is shocked at the notion that an evil undead of such power is wandering around in Westcrown, and flummoxed by the new companion's form of the Art. Would I know him due to his family and reputation? Knowledge local or nobility?
Also, would I know if my version of light would be helpful here to remove or lesson the magical darkness? I don't think it would affect a more powerful spell/ability.

"If we retreat, we'll only give them more time to fortify." Ava thinks out loud. She grips her axe. "I say we take them as they come, fight them in the halls. Their numbers are only as great as the space we give them. Somebody cover the west!"
If we can, we should make use of "L" shape choke points (Such as if someone stood directly left of Ava, and then someone else under them). The same thing can be done in the west (In the square leading to the g6 tunnel, and the squares immediately right and down-right), which would only allow one baddie at a time to get in, while three people can wail on them. The only problem with that is the number of melee viable PCs we have (though we can just stick a single person in the western corridor with spell backup to clog traffic, or use the elemental as a living wall).
Ava grits her teeth, gripping her axe tightly, a wry smile on her face.
She takes total defense, boosting her AC to 20.
Lucon
I've just occcupied that square and readied an attack, I can cover the west next round. My tower shield is actually amazing for that if I can get into the tight hallway. I can have total cover against attacks from that direction, meaning they have to bullrush or overrun me to break through, which would provoke. Also I knew there was a reason I was excited to finally be a PC with you. It's nice not having that brain used against me for once.

Round 3
"Welcome, friend," Enko says to the thin man in grey. He raises his voice. "We face enemies on two or more fronts. Lucon! Follow our voices back. It is risky to stay down here--we should prepare to fall back up the stairs and the light." Enko moves south 5', lantern in one hand, loaded sling in the other, back to back with Caladius. He shifts the lantern light to cover the western approach as well, trying to look two directions at once.
Corneleous moves forward a few steps and notices that as the bespelled coin follows after him (in the 'hands' of the unseen servant) the light fails to penetrate the darkness spell to any degree. He raises his crossbow and waits for an opportunity to strike. The rock elemental suddenly appears out of the western wall in front of the blind Lucon, and swings a solid arm through the eastern rock wall as if it were water. It is impossible to tell if he hit the burrowed tiefling or not. Caladeous's second summon, a spendid eagle, appears at the edge of the light and suddenly plunges into the darkness, flying speedily down the eastern tunnel. You hear several cries of surprise and then one voice cries out in pain, who or what was hurty you cannot tell.
Lucon manages, "I... He's in the walls!" the carpenter bellows, voice wavering. He let's out a panicked shout as he's engulfed in the magical darkness, and stands rooted on the spot until he gets his wits back.
He traces his hand along the walls and finds his way to the light, following Enko's instruction. He backs into the corner and raises his raises his weapon, rooting his feet on the ground. "Did somebody say hounds?" he says, eyes fixing blankly on Sabinus. "Who...?" he begins, before starting at a noise in the solid wall of darkness before him. "This darkness. It isn't right... "I'm just a carpenter!" he says, despairingly. "I don't... I can't..." he cuts himself off, breathing in and out, as Enko taught him, steadying his nerves. "Let them come."
@Lucon - That was my best interpretation of 'corner' Sorry if it's the wrong spot. But any farther south and you'd be in the darkness spell, so I guessed the spot you're in.
Amon steps down into the light from the coin and casts guidance on Enko, but throughout he can't seem to take his eyes off Sabinus, his eyes full of questions. "Who, by Iomedae, are you?" Active Effects: Life-Link w/Lucon.
Ava grits her teeth, gripping her axe tightly, a wry smile on her face. She appears ready to defend against any attack.
Dravano - From out of the darkness to the south there comes a grinding sound, and then a roar on bestial rage and the the scraping of rock on rock.
Mummy - There is the sound of bone one flesh and an eagles piercing scream of pain.
TRogue1, 2, 3 - From far down the eastern tunnel there is a flurry of crossbow twanges and the sound of projectiles striking flesh, and then silence. @Corneleous - The Summoned Eagle is no more.

Not yet seeing any opponents, Sabinus continues to hold his slumber hex as a readied attack on the first enemy to come into his sight. Changed your wording from 'tiefling' to 'enemy' for reasons soon to be seen.
TRogue4 - Booted feet run into the cavern from the east, and one voice exclaims, "By Erebus!"
TRogue5 - Followed soon after by a second newly-arrived voice, "Protect the master!"
Helldog1 - Enko catches movement from the west, as a huge hound rounds the corner into the lamplight. It looks like an evil, rabid hound with glowing eyes and reddish fur. It bares it's teeth and a reddish froth drips from it's mouth as it sets sights on it's quarry. Enko's prepared bullet catches it right in the shoulder, causing minimal damage. It moves even closer and Sabinus releases his readied hex, this time the hound drops to the earth with surprising suddenness. 3 rounds sleep left.
Helldog2 - A second hound appears just behind the first and growls ferociously.
Helldog3,4,Dog - The sounds of more hounds behind these first two come to your ears quite easily. They will surely reach the group next round.

Ah, I love having the map! And light levels! They're so tricky to implement, but I really like them.
Lucon, true to his word, will head west. Lucky none of these monsters can act before him!
Move Action: Moving 30ft. into the corridor, stopping to the square in the bottom right corner of the hellhound.
Standard Action: Taking total cover behind his tower shield. Attacks coming from the west side of my square cannot target me unless they move around to my flank. I've never once used a tower shield, so I'd like to see how effective it is rather than blindly bullrush.

Round 4
Caladius snaps off a single arrow at the big tiefling, hoping the elemental is distracting it enough for the projectile to get through. Frustrated with his bow, he tosses it to the ground and retrieves his greatsword from the floor.
Enko faces the hell hounds with a look of quiet resolve. "Come to me!" he calls to them and assumes a ready posture, still in the odd-looking crane pose.
Corneleous casts a new spell, this one raising a soupy green substance to rise from the very stones to the west and south of Lucon. The earth elemental swings what would have been an devastating blow at the huge tiefling, continuing their lightless struggle, but misses. The eagle was squished.
As the hounds rush into the corridor Lucon's shield will come to meet them, as he barrels past Enko and raises his shield high, gripping his heavy truncheon for when the hound tries to dart around his defenses. The tall west-facing shield looks very solid indeed.
Amon steps forward a little and casts a bullet from his sling at the helldog nearest Lucon. Surprisingly to himself, and probably everyone else, it hits the dog squarely in the neck and does maximum damage. He does a little fist pump in triumph and excitedly loads another stone. Active Effects:Life-Link w/Lucon.
Ava steps next to Caladius, hurling a dart towards the lumbering tiefling down the hall. The melee is too thick however, and Ava second-guesses herself for too long, her shot missing completely as she over-predicts the movements of the brawl. She swears under her breath before gripping her axe again. To the others, they watch as Ava steps into the globe off darkness and vanishes from sight.
Dravano - Again, the sound of claw on stone as the elemental and the large tiefling continue to battle, and the tiefling is definitely getting its hits in.
The mummy unleashes a third bone missile, and this time it sails past the elemental and catches Caladius solidly in the chest, exploding into tiny fragments as it hits him. -4hp Caladius.
T Rogue1 - Another three shots from crossbow bolts fly up the corridor, but the sound of the bolts clanging off earthen armor is heard.
T Rogue2 miss elemental
T Rogue3 miss elemental
"Yes! Sleep doggie sleep!" Sabinus targets his slumber hex on the closest hound. Glancing over his shoulder at Amon, he says "The name's Sabinus."
TRogue4 - One bolts sounds and clangs off the elemental.
TRogue5 is the better shot, his bolt penetrating the severely wounded earth elemental, the earthen bindings keeping it intact fraying and crumbling.
Helldog1 remains down and sleeping back near the corner of the western tunnel. 2 rounds sleep left.
Helldog2 is the hound to Lucon's southwest, and manages to keep its feet as the grease appears, then bites at the mans legs -gashing him on the shin with sharp teeth. Or at least that's what would have happened had the tower shield not walled off the bite attack so completely. Woulda done some nice damage there.
Helldog3 charges past the sleeping dog but the grease hampers it's movement and it tumbles into a heap to at the west edge of the conjured substance.
Helldog4 follows after the other two, this one jumping the others to end up directly west of Lucon (drawing an AoO) and is smashed a terrific blow over the head with Lucons truncheon, downing it in one strike. Before the other dogs can attack, he slams the tower shield back into place. 'You' threatened crit with max damage, but didn't confirm, not that it mattered. :)
Lastly, Scabby, a normal looking dog but still capable of causing serious harm, moves into view and charges after its larger fellows. It too slips on the grease and ends up over the body of Helldog4, west of Lucon, and slides ineffectually around in the grease, whining slightly in discomfort. Lucons AoO is used or Scabby would get his own introduction to the truncheon.
The sounds of still more teiflings coming from the southwest can be heard clearly, and one voice seems to be leading them, driving them on. A globe of darkness appears in the corner on the tunnel the dogs came from - hiding the hexxed Helldog1 from the light-lovers view.

Not a big stickler for this, but this is a friendly reminder to keep Round based conversations limited to a few seconds. On the one hand I'd much rather the communication be RP rather than OOC, it is a game after all. But in the spirit of RAW, several lines from the same sources in a back and forth exchange is pushing the combat convo limit. Be mindful, use your best judgment (as you have been doing already), thank you very much!

Round 5
Caladius mutters under his breath, "Ow. Bastard bastards and their undead bastards," and then shouts at the large tiefling, "HEY! Smiley! Care to come over here an introduce yourself?" The ranger assumes a readied position, daring the larger tiefling on.
Enko moves up beside Lucon and strikes the prone dog Scabby with a fist, but cannot seem to connecting with the squirming animal.
"Anyone have a source of fire handy?" the Viscount says, almost causally. His face is flushed and damp with perspiration, but the gleam of in his eye from the rush of the Art flowing through his veins. "I've got another trick up my sleeve for our horny little friends." He does take time to aim and fire at one of the prone Hellhounds, but misses narrowly. He goes about the methodical process of manually reloading the crossbow as his unseen servant is busy carrying around the brightly glowing coin.
In the eastern tunnel, feeling its grasp on this plane fading, the elemental tries one last time to injure the huge tiefling but just isn't able to land what surely would have been a devastating blow. Utterly spent, the earthen elemental crumbles to dirt on the hard ground.
"More trouble!" Lucon bellows, as he takes the offensive, clenching his teeth and bringing his weapon down hard on the injured and sleeping Helldog2 with life-ending finality -blood splattering to the ground to mix with the grease. Then, steadying himself and squinting into the darkness which fills the tunnel to the west.
Amon's unlikely streak continues, as the next stone he tosses connects with Scabby the Dog, causing it to yelp in pain. His exuberance is tempered at seeing Caladius staggering under repeated attacks, even if he cannot discern the source of those attacks. He concentrates and a filament of power briefly connects him to Caladius. Lastly, he responds to Sabinus, "Uhh, nice to meet you. What are you doing down here!?" Active Effects:Life-Link w/Lucon & Caladius. To those linked, you get +5 at the start of Amons turn, each round, until you are within 5 of your max hp.

Dravano - Caladius and Ava watch as the tiefling gins a mouthful of huge teeth at Caladius and tromps heavily up to the smaller Ranger. Caladius, has been still as the giant approaches, but then his muscles uncoil like a monstrous snake. His greatsword whips up and over in a mighty chopping motion, leaving a long bloody gash in the chest of the tiefling giant. The tiefling roars in pain and fury, and both huge claws of the tiefling swipe ineffectually at the Ranger. It may have missed because of the severity of the blow against him, shouting out a challenge, "I AM Dravano! and I will eat your brains this day!" His countenance changes however, as the blood begins to flow freely, and he calls over his shoulder in a quavering voice, "Mincer! To me!" Caladius, note your init has shifted.
A fourth bone missile from the Mummy, again flying past the melee and hitting Caladius solidly in the side, fragments of bone raining down. -5hp Caladius.
T Rogue1 - Shoots a bolt at Ava, her armor catching and deflecting the bolt.
T Rogue2 decides to go after Caladius, and would have done significant damage had the hallway not been so crowded. The bolt zips past his head to smash into the stone behind him.
T Rogue3 aims at Caladius as well, with the same near-miss result.
Enjoying the target-rich environment, Sabinus hexes another Helldog, this time Helldog3 (on the west edge of the grease). The already-prone, huge, reddish hound drops its head towards the ground, eyes closing, before shaking itself back to wakefulness. Undaunted, Sabinus speaks to the whole group, "If we can kill the hounds that are awake, maybe you two can finish off the sleeping hounds before they wake up!" He addresses those at the mouth of the eastern tunnel, "And do you in the dark really want to stay in there? It sounds like you're just providing a pin cushion for their ranged attacks. Maybe you'll have more cover from the cavern wall if you draw back out of the darkness just a bit."
TRogue4, fires a bolt at Ava, but cannot make the difficult shot in the melee.
TRogue5, presumably Mincer, snatches something from his pouch and rushes up the hall towards his wounded leader.
Helldog1 remains down and sleeping back near the corner of the western tunnel. 1 rounds sleep left.
Helldog2 is dead.
Helldog3 stands and rushes over its dead foes to try and get at the less-shielded Lucon. It cannot maintain it's footing and goes down once more, over the body of Helldog2 (to the SW of Lucon).
Helldog4 is dead
Scabby tries to stand and fight, potentially leaving itself open to two attacks, one from Enko and the other from Lucon. Enko's foot nearly gets sliced off, as he delivers a stunning kick to the dogs head, just as Lucons sword cleaves completely through it's neck. Needless to say, Scabby is no more.
Whatever or whoever was coming from the southwest tunnel has gotten very very quiet. The way remains shrouded by the darkness spell in the western tunnel.

Caladius Rend
HP: 23/32
AC: 17 (11 T / 16 FF)
Ongoing Effects: favored community, power attack
Caladius scoffs at Dravano's boast, "You're an idiot," before whipping his sword down in a flashing arc.
Greatsword (power attack): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22for: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (5, 5) + 9 = 19
He then calls out over his shoulder to the unrecognized voice, "Nah. We're good."
If Ava drops Dravano before I get a swing, I'll 5-ft step one square down and chop at the other tiefling.
Ava Wavesdotter
"You talk big, tiefling!" Ava shouts, stepping towards Dravano. "How about we cut you down to size!"
Battleaxe, Power: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Ava lets out a fierce battlecry as she launches a powerful vertical slash against the tiefling. "To battle!"
If she manages to drop Dravano, she'll 5ft step into his square and menacingly brandish her axe at the others.
Lucon
Enko can do the honors of Coup de Gracing this guy. Caladius and Ava should holler (in character) if they need me. If you want me to charge into the Darkness here I can do so, but Cornelius will need to spend an action dispelling grease; (and right now it's a pretty good buffer against the goons in the west.)
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
1d6 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Edit: The bugger next to me is prone, not asleep! Changed my action, sorry Enko!
Enko Laberan
"I have this one, Lucon. Mind the light while I'm away. Please convince Caladius and Ava to return if you can."
Enko tumbles over the spot of grease to attack the hellish canine, bringing a knee to the creature's ribs.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
UAS: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Confirm crit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
damage: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5
Sabinus
I forgot to do Sabinus' perception check before, so here it is: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 Did anyone make that check?
Ava Wavesdotter
Didn't even realize there was a check to be made.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Nope!
Viscount Corneleous Ornelos
|
My first couple of posts got eaten.
I had a whole explanation of how the Viscount would act, etc.
Instead I'll summarize it.
He wants to use web to block up the hall in order to prevent the ranged attacks from down the hall.
He would likely aim it so that the edge hits the big tough tiefling.
However, that requires A) casting it into the darkness of the hallway that he wouldn't know -
What happens when you cast into an area that you've never seen? Meta-gaming wise, I know that the hall is long- and he knows that arrows are coming from further in the hall... 20' radius is a freaking large mass of web. I also don't want to seem like I'm metagaming (because the other end of the 20' radius would hit the ones shooting).
If web is too complex, then he'd pull out the magic missile wand and use that instead (rather than fire into the melee).
Also: unseen servant should drop the coin in the middle of the room in order to be more useful.
GM Mug
Corneleous, to resolve firing a spell into the dark I'd roll a 1d18-ish to determine which square the spell ends up landing in. 1 would be Caladius's square and 18ish would be #2 badguy way down there. For round 6 I'll just use the wand to keep things moving, but now you know how I'd resolve that in the future. Fair?

Round 6
"I have this one, Lucon. Mind the light while I'm away. Please convince Caladius and Ava to return if you can."
Dropping the lamp, Enko tumbles over the spot of grease and into the darkness, trying to attack the hellish canine while blindly moving in the darkness. He feels his way towards it in the pitch black and attempts to bringing a knee to the sleeping creature's ribs. His luck is with him and he feels a rib crack from his attack, but the dog rouses instantly, still prone on the ground and very upset. I'm considering that a coup de grace since it was helpless and you managed to hit it despite total concealment/blindness, but the dog made the DC10 check to survie the coup de grace auto-death feature. :) Also, fyi you're effectively blind in this darkness and lose your Dex bonus to AC. Yikes!
With a thought the Viscount directs his unseen servant to deposit the glowing coin in the middle of the room, which is does. During that time, Corneleous is trying to determine the best spell to use in the confined, darkened space. Erring on the side of caution, he pulls out a wand and directs a glowing red ball of energy crackling into the darkness and out of his sight. It flies at Dravano... but just misses him at the last moment, the darkness foiling the magical attack. Rolled a 1d2 to determine hit or miss. Missed.
Lucon brings his truncheon down on the hound3 as it struggles for its footing on the slippery dirt, it's compromised position making it vulnerable to his poorly aimed attack. He cracks the once-fearsome beast once on the back of the neck, and it collapses in a twisted heap at his feet.
Amon pauses, out of immediate targets after Lucon finishes the dog, readies himself to throw a sling bullet should an enemy appear. He winces a little, as if something pained him internally, and some of his vitality flows across the invisible magic link to rejuvinate Caladius. Active Effects: Life Link w/Lucon & Caladius. +5hp to Caladius.
"You talk big, tiefling!" Ava shouts, stepping towards Dravano. "How about we cut you down to size!" Ava lets out a fierce battlecry as she launches a powerful vertical slash against the tiefling. "To battle!" Her hieght difference only allows her to chop up to the huge tieflings chest, right where Caladius's blade had already landed it's devestating blow. Ava's axe smashes the tiefling down to the ground in a heap, blood fleck flying over her and Caladius, and she has to jerk several times to remove the axe from the dead monsters breastbone. Stepping forward a few steps, she menaces the other tieflings down the corridor - quite the sight standing half-atop their unbeatable giant, covered in his blood.
Caladius scoffs at Dravano's boast, stating, "You're an idiot," before Ava ends the large brute. Stepping forward a pace, the ranger whips his sword down in a flashing arc, splitting the head of 'Mincer' in two. He then calls out over his shoulder to the unrecognized voice, "Nah. We're good."
The giant tiefling Dravano is dead.
The fifth bone missile comes zipping down the hallway and catches Ava a glancing blow to the side of her head and then rickochetes off into the tunnel wall. -3hp Ava.
T Rogue1 shoots a bolt at Ava, and she ducks the bolt.
T Rogue2 decides to go after Caladius again but the shot is stopped by the tiefling torchbearers armor.
T Rogue3 aims at Caladius, but the shot is so poorly Caladius bats it out of the air with his greatsword.
Sabinus will hold a hex at the ready, prepared to use it the next enemy he can see. He yells out, "You two in the dark let me know if you need healing!" To Amon he replies, "I'm helping!"
TRogue4, drops prone to steady his aim and fires a shot at Ava, this one catching her a painful shot in the shoulder. -7hp Ava.
Helldog1, snarls menacingly, all the more deadly now that he's awake and alone with Enko in the darkness. Enko can hear it bark hoarsly and scramble to it's feet, but the monk is unable to take an attack as it does so - due to the encompassing blackness around him. Suddenly he can sense it lunges and twists away, but the huge dog still is able to rend his leg with its razor sharp teeth. -7hp Enko, max damage that time.
Helldog2 is dead.
Helldog3 is dead
Helldog4 is dead
Scabby has perished.
You hear some more sounds from the southwest tunnel, first a loud scream of terror, and then the pounding of booted feet, spriting closer. Then another scream, this time one of pain.

Caladius' eyes widen briefly as Amon's healing effects wash over him for the first time. From out of the darkness Caladius calls out to the halfling, "Thanks, Amon!" He then drives his broadsword into Mincer's corpse before flipping his bow back into his hands with a deft motion from his booted foot.
