She swiftly steps behind Tavi (adjacent to Lucon diagonally), dropping her flail to the stone beneath her, and fumbling at her belt for her supplies. With care and precision she tends to the worst of his wounds, sweating with anxiety.

    Round 3:
    Lucon will gasp, panting heavily and slick with sweat. If he can clamber to his feet without provoking, he'll do so shakily, picking up his weapon and holding it out, wavering in front of him Move action to rise, Standard action to ready vs. approach.

    If the hellknight is still nearby, Lucon will merely lie there and groan, delaying til he's dealt with.


    @Tavi, youre about to provoke 2 AoO, you ok with that?
    @Lucon, You might be stabalized and healed this round, pending no bad things happening to your rescuers. So you may as well post actions as if you are healed, just in case. That goes for anyone who goes unconscious, anytime.
    @All, Also I'll do it this round, but it may be wise to roll AoO's each round if you're in melee (range attacks, no need), just in case. Otherwise you'll have to settle on my rolls...
    @Jaiyana, can't do a 5' step if taking any other movement action the same round (like drawing a healing kit). Would you like the move and the drawing of the kit still? That is possible but you'd be out of actions at that point. Also, since your movement can't be a 5' step it'd draw AoO, so any changes you want to make?


    Round 3 Executive Decision: Rather than just retcon and meta things too much, I'm going to assume you're all big boys and girls who know the rules and risks and just let the dice fall. If I make mistakes, or you didn't intend to do something but posted it... live and learn I suppose. :)

    AC lines up another shot, but the bolt flies into the sewage, no where near his target.

    Switching your targets, to your advantage. Enko strikes at the newly risen Hellknight3 again. "Goodbye," he says almost forlornly, and a blurred fist snakes out to strike him right in the throat. The man, who was reaching for something in his pouch, clutches now at his throat, but is unable to draw a breath and topples over.

    Jaiyana panics for a brief moment as she sees Lucon fall, but quickly gains control of herself. She swiftly steps behind Tavi (adjacent to Lucon diagonally), dropping her flail to the stone beneath her. Her movement drew the attention of Hellknight2, who chops at her as she moves, bashing her shoulder painfully. 9hp damage, also max damage. These guys are getting better. Taking the blow, Jaiyana fumbles at her belt for her supplies, finally pulling forth a small kit. She clearly intends to do something on Lucon.

    bot Amon starts to rush forward to help Lucon, but the area around him is too crowded now. "I can't get to him," he yells to the others. Thinking quickly he concentrates for a moment, and the thread of magic connecting him and Enko dissipates. The halfling continues to focus, and a new thread of magic suddenly connects him to Lucon. Opening his eyes he moves part way down the tunnel you all entered. No immediate effect, but Life Link is now on Lucon. Results hopefully coming the start of next round

    Hellknight5 curses at his crossbow before loosing another bolt, this one at that pesky noble looking fellow who keeps shooting them. His crossbow apparently ignored the reprimand, as the bolt misses by a large margin.

    Corneleous lets another bolt fly at Hellknight2, the one standing north, menacing Tavi. The bolt again flies true, striking knight in the thigh, and causing the man to hiss in pain as he clutches his leg. Almost forgot! The conjurer lets his crossbow fall to the ground and grabs his staff. I dropped the crossbow, to stow it is a move action.

    Hellknight2, still in pain from Corneleous's bolt, holds the strike he'd been planning to land on Tavi, instead pulling a potion from his pouch with his off hand, intending to quaff it quickly. Tavi attacks in a blur of steel as he drinks but she misses. The bolt falls from his skin as his wound heals completely over.

    Hellknight7 is down.

    Hellknight6 bleeds quietly on the ground.

    We can say you delay till after Tavi's action instead of stabalizing. Lucon lies there bleeding and groans.

    Tavi pulls out a potion of her own and pours it down Lucon's throat. This allows Hellknight1 a quick strike as she do so. Me and my big mouth The Hellknight swings with all his skill and then some, doing more damage than he's probably ever done in his life to the small rogue. She falls next to Lucon, the potion on the ground between their bleeding bodies.-12 damage, Tavi is down and dying. Two natural 20's for #1's AoO, and max damage on 1 of his rolls. Yikes.

    Lucon continues to lie there, Jaiyana behind him. I rolled a stabalization check for you of 19. Feel free to use that one or roll me another if you'd like.

    Hellknight1 laughs loudly over Lucon and Tavi, proud he felled the largest of you, and one of the smallest, "Do you see your death coming yet, you foolish rebels?" Looking down at the unconcious halfling with an evil grin, "You're suffering is far from over wench."

    Hellknight3 is down, hands still at his own bruised throat.

    Hellknight4 has finally managed to bring out the potion from his pouch and brings it to his lips. Enko, seeing the Hellknight1's move to drink, reaches down to slap him. The potion falls from the mans hand even as the already weakened Hellknight's eyes roll back in his head. Enko roll me a reflex in the next rounds spoiler please

    Hellknight8 doesn't move.

    Janiven screams, "NO!!" as Tavi goes down in blood, and steps directly south to flank a Hellknight with Tavi, gleaming longsword in hand, and takes a swipe at Hellknight1's gloating back. She slashes across the mans shoulder, drawing blood, but not a significant amount. "Leave them alone!" She isn't actually getting a flank bonus since Tavi is down, just painting a picture.

    I think that's possible, although I will provoke an AoO. Lemme know if this is feasible. I'd move through the nearest, dying Knight's square and then attack middle 'Knight. Uh, I think that's step over 4 and attack #1? Diagonal move NW then attack. I forget if I have to move two squares and can't stand in dying dude's square--I think I can. I'd rather not move two squares and provoke two AoO's! ok, here goes...

After using heal she will use her move action pull her remaining potion of cure light wounds. On the chance that both Tavi and Lucon are already stable, she will draw and drink her potion.

    Amon rushes to Tavi's side (square directly north of Corneleous) and bends down. He reaches into his vest and withdraws a silver sewing needle. He pricks his finger and touches it to Tavi's collarbone, whispering a prayer under his breath.

    Round 4:
    Ouch! That roll of yours is a mercy. I believe that's enough to stabilize at... -1, I believe, with my CON damage. Glad to see you aren't pulling the punches.

    Tactics/Metagaming:
    I think that once we're stable you guys should focus on eliminating the threat at hand than saving us. If you're threatening the hellknights they can't coup-de-grace us.

    Also thanks for rescuing me! If anyone has to go down for it let's hope it's me.


    Round 4

    AC takes a 5' step away and takes aim once again. The bolt is true, sinking into Hellknight2s chest. He seems gravely wounded

    Enko springs over the fallen Hellknight3 to attack the middle of the line of Knights. As he tumbles over the channel, he snatches the potion Hellknight3 dropped out of the air, allowing it to slide softly to the ground instead of breaking. Hellknight2 takes a swing as the monk gets within despite Enko's best effort to dodge out of reach, but the longsword cannot quite catch the dextrous monk. Enko lands in a crouch and his leg sweep catches the tall Hellknight unaware, and he crashes to the floor with a grunt. I love watching these trip maneuvers, very effective.

    Jaiyana uses her heal kit quickly and with skill, stabalizing the large carpenter, the blood-loss stopped and his breathing regulates. She quickly retrieves a potion from her clothes, eyeing the Hellknights a few feet away.

    The insubstantial link between Oracle and Lucon flares briefly. +5hp to Lucon, -5hp to Amon. Amon rushes to Tavi's side and bends down. He reaches into his vest and withdraws a silver sewing needle. He pricks his finger and touches it to Tavi's collarbone, whispering a prayer under his breath. +5hp to Tavi, another -1hp to Amon. I believe you're at 5/11hp now Amon, watch out for Life Link next round! You can end it as an immediate action.

    Hellknight5 drops his crossbow on the ground, and draws his sword. Janivens tries to hit him with her sword and fails. He in turn swings at her ineffectually.

    Corneleous moves a few feet closer (5' step NE), and casts a spell. A large patch of grease appears underneath the feet of Hellknight1 and Hellknight5 and appearing underneath Lucon as well, causing their heavy boots to suddenly lose traction. Now there are three Hellknights all fallen in a row. Corneleous I moved your cast 5' to the left and down since Enko already tripped Hellknight2.

    Hellknight2 growls and tries to stand, Enko is in place and kicks at the angry knights head for his trouble but misses. Hellknight2 manages to regain his feet and swipe at the monk, but Enko dodges once more.

    Hellknight7 bleeds on the ground.

    Hellknight6 is down and out on the ground.

    Tavi, from the ground, reaches into her pouch, pulls out a potion and drinks it. 8 hp gained from potion. You're lucky Hellknight2 already took his AoO on Enko earlier, or else he'd have had a very nice bonus to hit you again. I bet you planned it that way. ;)

    Lucon, 4/11hp now I believe. seeing the Hellknights down or already attacked grabs and drinks the potion Tavi dropped earlier and then stands up. +7hp from clw. Seemed a good time to stand. :)

    Hellknight1 rises and strikes at Janiven, "I told you to stay down woman, now we're really going to hurt you!" He makes good on his threat and slices a gaping hole in her side. critted! She falls lifelessly to the ground.

    Hellknight3 lies still.

    Hellknight4 dies some more.

    Hellknight8 is bleeding, and unconscious.

    Janiven bleeds profusely on the tunnel floor.

    Seeing Lucon safe Jaiyana breathes a heavy sigh of relief, but her elation is short lived as she refocuses on the combat at hand. Quickly she uncorks her final potion and drinks it, dropping the vial carelessly aside afterward (+1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 hp). She sweeps down to pick up her flail and drops back into a combat stance.

    Standard action: Drink a poition.
    Move action: Retrieve dropped flail.

    Possible AoO (with Combat Expertise to raise her AC by 1): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9; Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

    Enko takes a cleansing breath and strikes at the middle Hellknight again.
    Trip: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 Flanking with Lucon, Defensive, AC still 20. Ah, bugger. Well, better a miss than trying to get closer and incurring 3 AoO's.

    Just for fun, if there is something that triggers an AoO near me:
    Trip AoO: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 Uh, Flanking, Defensive, Bullied, and obviously I can't do this to anyone who's getting up from Prone, but I believe all of the Knights are standing again. Just in case they do something that provokes.


    Round 5:

    Amon quickly severs the life-link as grievous wounds magically appear on his arms and shoulders. He murmurs a healing spell and touches himself, knitting the fresh wounds. He then retreats and moves behind Corneleous.

    AC lines up and fires a great shot at Hellknight2, this one finishes the man off, bolt stuck in his neck.

    Enko takes a cleansing breath, moves west a few feet, and strikes at Hellknight1 again, this time flanking with Lucon. The strike is powerful but goes wide, maybe because the Hellknight is slipping in the grease a bit. You said flanking with Lucon, which required a 5' step, this way you also threaten both remaining hellknights (#5 and #1), and avoided an AoO. Hope that's ok.

    Seeing Lucon safe Jaiyana breathes a heavy sigh of relief, but her elation is short lived as she refocuses on the combat at hand. Quickly she uncorks her final potion and drinks it, dropping the vial carelessly amid the filthy sewers afterward. She sweeps down to pick up her flail and drops back into a combat stance.

    Amon quickly severs the life-link as grievous wounds magically appear on his arms and shoulders. He murmurs a healing spell and touches his chest, knitting the fresh wounds. He then retreats and moves behind Corneleous.

    Hellknight5 tries to stand in the slick much, drawing attacks from both Enko and Lucon. Enko kicks hard at the knights legs, hitting a nerve, and causes the mans leg to deaden, and he starts to topple backwards towards the grease and much. The carpenter, having already lurched to his feet, nearly falling face first on the slippery cobblestone before snatching up his blade. Grimacing as he downs a potion and traces his hand along his chest, mouth agape. Now, he sways on his feet slightly before lunging at his slowly falling opponent. The mans fall must be too slow for Lucon, because he brings his sword down hard on the falling hellknight, smashing him into the ground. The knight lies still, bleeding heavily. Rolled your AoO for you Lucon. The first is a bit of RP from last round. This action is just an attack AoO.

    Corneleous attacks the remaining Hellknight1 with a mystic motion and a glob of acid materializes and flies from his outstretched fingers, striking the mans abdomen and sizzlings there for a moment.

    The carpenter strikes at the last Hellknight1, the one that'd been causing their group so much trouble, but fails to land a blow. No movement needed

    Tavi will rise on shaky legs and strike at the knight between herself and Enko. Hellknight1, anger and hatred burning in his eyes, tries to cut the tough rogue as she stands up right next to him. He misses however, as she sidesteps the blade neatly. Then she attacks, her blades weaving around the longsword to slice across the acid-burned abodomen, eliciting a scream of pain. The knight is clearly on his last legs, barely staying on his feet.

    Hellknight1 looks around finally, and down at his own wounds, "Please! I didn't mean those things! Just let me go ya rebel filth!" and reaches into a pouch to retrieve something, but this simple motion seems all the effort the knight can muster at the moment and he draws an attack from Tavi. She is clearly done with allowing this man to stand upright, as she almost disdainfully cuts him across the thigh, the cut exposing bone, and the Hellknight can't stand the pain any longer, toppling over in the sewer.

    Janiven is breathing a little better, but still badly wounded.

    The sewers are once again quiet, the grease spell disspates and Janiven remains on the ground, bleeding. The tunnels are illuminated by a few torches and your light spell. Six of the hellknights are still breathing, but they look to be perishing soon without intervention.

    Enko kneels down and helps Janiven to her feet, supporting her with arm and shoulder. "Are we far from our destination, friend Janiven? Let us get there as quickly as we can." He passes her another potion of CLW and winces slightly. "Lucon and I need more healing; we have the beginnings of Filth Fever."


    Janiven is still unconcious, just not 'bleeding as much'. I'll say you give her some of the found potions, that ok?

    As the second potion goes down her eyes flutter open, and she looks up at Enko, a weak grin forming, "My hero." Using his assistance to stand, she hear's the tail end of his question, "We are close, I didn't dare leave the sewers fearing you'd run past, and I didn't want to let the Hellknights know we were so close to the hideout. Lets get rid of these first." She starts pushing the bodies into the sewer, allowing you to take what you want first of course. She gives Hellknight1 an extra kick before he goes into the filthy water.

    My lady, allow me. The Viscount gingerly crosses the sludge, and pours a healing potion into her lips.

    She nods her thanks to Corneleous, some of her other wounds healing as she downs the potion, "You all did an amazing job back there, it was quite the sight! You seemed to work together like a trained unit, if I didn't know better I'd have thought you've all done this sort of thing before!"

    "I'm glad you've made it, I had several close calls with wandering Hellknights. I heard screams and battle more than once as well. We can talk later, please follow quickly." After retrieving her bow she takes you down a short tunnel with one of the heavy sewer doors at the end, as usual it's bolted from the outside. She approaches the door and taps with her sword point in a very specific pattern, the metallic chiming loud in your ears. After a few moments it's opened from the outside by a large man, rivaling Lucon in size, holding a lantern. He's holding a lantern, and the light reveals a very nervous face. Janivens leads you from the sewer into an out-of-the way alley, and across the alley to a boarded up door of a large, decrepit stone building. She gets out a key and opens the cleverly disguised door (only made to appear as if it was boarded up), and motions you all inside.

    Congratulations, you are now level 2! I have a larger post to write up, but in the meantime feel free to level your characters.

    Jaiyana winces as she touches her wounds. Her armored coat absorbed the worst of her injuries, but the bruises and cracked ribs would ache for a few days as they healed. She nods respectfully the other warriors with her, and glances over to Lucon. "We are definitely getting you one of these," she says with forced mirth and audible relief, motioning to her leather-jacket with steel plates set into the lining. "How many potions do we have left out of the stock the Hellknights left us? I'm afraid the two I was given earlier were spent already this evening."

    Almost stepping over Enko's comments My lady, it is clear that discipline and training can overcome all adversity. The Acadamae drills us for all of these type of situations. We were never in any serious danger. I will say, though, that if it weren't for the admirable strength and devoutness of my team, we might have had a rougher time. You should thank them, not I. I merely provided leadership and a hefty dose of the Art. Speaking of which, I am drained. Is there a place nearby where we can rest? I'm afraid the arcane energies will not return to me until I've slept. the Viscount prattles on, almost oblivious to the rest of the party staring at him while he takes credit for the harrowing feats of bravery performed by his fellows, while he stood in the back and lobbed spells and crossbow bolts.

    As she moves to the door and hears the Viscounts response a ghost of a smile crosses her lips, "You are too gracious Viscount, a place is near, if you'll just follow me."

    As you enter the building, all of you are probably surprised at the contrast of the building's state on the inside, versus the decay and run-down appearance of the outside. The interior has undergone substantial renovations, is clean, well-lit, and warm. There are nearly a dozen people inside the large shrine, in various stages of conversation, work, eating or resting, their friendly noises filling the large space with a certain homey-atmosphere. Suddenly a shout comes and Morosino speeds around a pillar, rushing up to hug a smiling Janiven, although his squeeze does bring a pained look to her face for just a moment. The large man from outside comes in, as a newly cleaned up Morosino begins to flood her and you with questions, "What happened! You're cut, did they cut you? Was it scary? Did you see any shadowbeasts? Why does the big man have a sword now? Were you followed, are you hungry? tired? sleepy? Did you find Arael? Bet you didn't know about this place eh?..." and you have no doubt he'd have continued with these questions, as only exuberant youth can, if Janiven cut him off. Many of the others in the room had sidled closer at that point, trying to listen but not be obvious or rude, as Janiven speaks. Her voice raised so all could hear, "Enough Moro! We're all mostly-fine and we weren't followed. This group made sure of that. Everyone," she points to each of you as she goes, "this is Tavi, Amon, AC, Viscount Corneleous, Lucon, Enko, and Jaiyana. They have been through hell to get here and are probably tired and hungry. Don't bombard them with questions, and give them room to breath while they're here."

    She motions a halfling woman forward, "Fiosa, would you see that they have places to rest and food if they wish it?" Turning back to you, "I must have information, and I must have it tonight. Please consider this shrine your home for now, and make yourselves comfortable. I'll be back in the morning." With that she murmurs something to the large man, sweeps her cloak over herself, and ducks once more into the night. The others have moved back to their positions and are doing a good job of not staring.

    The small halfling, Fiosa, stands smiling and straight-backed behind you, "I'm Fiosa, and thank Iomedae you're safe, if you'll please follow me." She leads you to an area with a dozen cots lined up, heavy blankets on each one, and a bubbling pot of stew hanging over a small fire ten feet away. "Morosino told us what happened, at Vizio's Tavern, you poor dears. Please rest or eat as you like. If you need anything, or have any questions at all please let me know." She waits several moments in case any of you have any immediate questions, and if not smiles and curties before moving towards a larger area with several tables and chairs, pillows and blankets, where most of the others area already gathered. From the sounds of it they're resuming a conversation you interrupted by your entrance. None of them seem the slightest bit worried Janiven has left again, at night even, apparently this is a regular occurance.

    Do Lucon and I need a healer to be cured of le Filth Fever?

    Enko bows to Fiosa. "Iomedae bless you and keep you safe. The Upper Reach, I, and my friends are in your debt." This is the first time Enko's spiritual speech has come into focus in reference to a particular deity.

    "Janiven should be seen to by a healer when she returns, in case she was exposed to Filth Fever. And...I am sorry to trouble you...but all of us need a place to clean our clothes and ourselves." He bows again deeply.

    Fiosa, puts a small hand to her forehead, "Of course! how silly of me, if you'd like a bath follow me." As she hears of Janivens possible exposure to filth fever she shakes her head, "More courage than sense in that fool woman's head, bless her soul." She is clearly very fond of Janiven in a motherly sort of way. She leads any interested towards the back where a large room contains several large tubs, the water piping hot. There are curtains which grant some privacy, and Fiosa asks that you place clothes to be laundered and mended outside the curtain on a chair. She points out large cloaks you may don if you elect to have your clothes laundered. With that she bids those inside their leave.

    You don't need a healer, you're constitution was enough to suppress and defeat the disease, Lucon will have to make another check tomorrow to see if he sustains more 'damage' from the disease. He can be aided by Heal checks from people with training, or healing magic, for additional bonuses.


    If you approach the larger group.
    The group of folks around the fire are talking about the evening and several wave, nod or greet you with a low 'hello'. They were talking about Arael's capture, Morosino is among them, answering their questions. There are male and female of several races and sizes, but all of them seem cordial to each other at the least, quite friendly in other cases. If you introduce yourself Fiosa introduces everyone in turn, Amaya, Ermolos, herself (Fiosa), Gorvio, Larko, Mathalen, Rizzardo, Sclavo, Tamili, Vitti, and Yakopulio.
    I promise these are pre-made NPC's, any similarities between NPC's and PC's are purely coincidental. :D

    Amaya:

    An extremely beautiful blonde woman, plainly dressed, who blushes fiercly under any scrutiny, clearly uncomfortable with the attention.
    Ermolos:

    Not as tall as Lucon, but wider in the shoulders. This is the man from the alley, his face no longer carrying the nervous tension it did in the alley. He walks with a limp but seems quite friendly. He seems particularly interested in Lucon's doings.
    Fiosa:

    A professional and friendly halfling, you can see that she is no stranger to entertaining guests in a formal setting. She exudes a peace and confidence common with the extremely religious. While extremely polite to everyone, she seems to linger a bit near Amon as she assists the group.
    Gorvio:

    Slight but otherwise normal looking, he wears a vest and pants. You might notice he smells faintly of horses, and if you look into his eyes there lurks a faint amber hue in the dark orbs.
    Larko:

    Tall, taller even than Lucon, but weighing much less, is the brooding human Larko. His dress is dirty and tar-smeared and he sports the calloused feet and hands of a dock-worker with Garundi features. He acknowledges everyone with a nod, but no words. He seems particularly interested in Jaiyana.
    Mathalen:

    This thin and wiry woman with close cropped black hair sits cross-legged on a a pillow, arms resting in her lap and eyes closed. She isn't speaking much, but the way she tilts her head from side to side as others speak show she is listening. At some point she seems to be squinting her eyes, pretending they're still closed, possibly in the direction of Enko.
    Rizzardo:

    One of the most loud members of the group, this man of Varisian descent is loud and boisterous. He keeps near to Ermolos, and seems to fancy himself an alpha male.
    Sclavo:

    Heavy of build and soft-spoken. This man speaks quietly requiring others to quiet themselves in order to hear him, and he seems to be in somewhat of an ill-mood. The tips of his fingers are dark and smudged, probably with ink. The only one he seems remotely interested in listening to is AC.
    Tamili:

    Young, witty and well dressed, this Chelish native speaks in a light tone, but distracted, as she keeps putting her nose back into a large tome in her lap. She peeks up occasionaly, seemingly mostly curious about Corneleous.
    Vitti:

    A short, green-haired, chelish man, holding a block of wood in one hand and a carving knife in the other, talks and whittles at the wood, the ground around him littered with wood shavings. The wood is starting to resemble a bird of some kind, and from you can tell (especially Lucon) his work is quite skilled.
    Yakopulio:

    Crude, crass, and irreverent, this flirtatious gnome is as like to kiss as she is to kick you, and she seems to know the most effective places to do both. Her small but cutting voice is a twisting path of sultry whispers and shrieking curses. Much of her fun is had at the expense of the more religious sorts. She eyes Tavi several times, with winks or scowls it's tough to say.

    Jaiyana nods her appreciation to halfling as she is shown to the baths. While the young woman didn't much care for soft comforts she was undeniably grateful for not having to walk around with disgusting sludge in her boots and smelling of sewers. The hot water would ease the tension in her wounds as well, until they could be properly treated. She removes herself to the most distant bath out of modesty, draws the curtain and quickly bathes, not allowing herself to get too lost in the simple enjoyment of a hot bath. After drying off and simply binding the worst of her injuries (reminding herself to tend to any of her injured or ailing companions before the evening ends), Jaiyana dons a cloak afterward and looks to her pack set aside with her clothes, caked in grime and sewage and in dire need of laundering. She make a mental note to toss the spare bits of food she had in her bag, doubting their present taste and safety.

    She rejoins the group after contemplating, but deciding against wearing a second cloak, feeling awkwardly exposed without her armor, espescially in a group so large. He silently greets each she is introduced to with a pleasant glance, confident that she is in the presence of friends after the night's ordeals.

    Noticing the large, quiet Garundi man paying her careful attention that evening, her curiosity gets the better of her and she heads toward him to strike up conversation, standing a few feet away from him; respectful of personal space. He had the look of a man who knew the value of hard work, a quality Jaiyana approved of.

    "You've been staring?" She asks casually. While she tended to choose her words carefully and could speak passionately at great length when the situation warrented, he was always a bit awkward upon introductions, generally keeping quiet.

    Enko takes some time to stroll around the shrine, studying the works of Aroden, and giving the women time to use the baths first. He takes a meditative but brief soak and dons a cloak, tying it in the custom used for robes in the Upper Reach, unconcerned that the material is far different.

    He bows to each of the members of the large group and checks on his companions, then sits cross-legged as well and nods to Mathalen in greeting. Perhaps she'll recognize the custom of dress.

    The Viscount, in typical Chelish fashion, recognizes no barrier between the men and women and bathing. Even though his robes were only slightly soiled, he wastes no time in plunging himself into one of the tubs. He hangs his robes nearby, and begins scrubbing them himself with Mage Hand rather than asking someone to launder his clothes, insisting that he wouldn't want to be putting the members of the temple at an imposition. After his robes have been cleaned and dried, he'll also raise a brush (magically) to his boots.

    He makes boisterous jokes and exchanges tales while tubbing.

    Afterward, he excuses himself and turns inward. He grabs a cot, some stew, and sharpens a quill to write in his spellbook.

    GM:
    He's working out his two new spells for the next level.
    After a while, he notices the other reader in the room. He winks, and asks May I ask what great tome has captivated so much of your attention?


    Female Halfling Rogue (Knife Fighter) or Soulknife (If allowed)

    Tavi will gladly wash the sewer from herself before claiming a bowl a stew and a quiet(ish) place out of the way, preferring a darkened corner.

    As she sits and watches the crowd talk and mingle, you can see her fingering a thin metal band around her upper arm. Closer inspection, if you dare, will show a bird of prey in flight engraved upon it. You seem to recall her leather armor also had this sigil upon it, though in a blue or silver stitching.

    Following dinner, she will find a dark spot which to rest in, under some stairs or behind some large barrels, where she hones her blades and checks her gear over.

    Amon looks to the shrine and touches a knuckle to his forehead. "Aroden, Last of the Azlanti."

    Amon wearily sets down, mostly keeping to himself and quietly taking in the sights and sounds around him. He notices Fiosa lingering near him, as well as her natural piety, and makes sure that she notices him catching glances at her through the evening.


    Each time someone comes out in a cloak instead of their normal garb, Fiosa quietly but quickly stands and moves off toward the bath area. I couldn't help but notice you acknowledged the shrine. Are you a worshiper of Aroden then?"

    Tamili answers the Viscount without looking up from her tome, a hint of a smile playing at one of the corners of her mouth, "You may." and returns her attention, mostly, to the small script.

    Mathalen starts as she realizes Enko noticed her poorly veiled glance, and closes her eyes completely again, takes two deep and measured breaths before opening her eyes once again. "Hey, Morosino told us not to ask... but I'm asking anyways." As someone tries to shush her the cross-legged woman shoots them a crusty sneer, mostly in jest, "He doesn't need to answer if he don't want to!" Straightening her back once more she turns calmly back to Enko, "The lad said you all fought your way through dozens of Hellknights, shadow-spawn, and tunnel monsters to get here, is this true?"

    Gorvio doesn't flinch when Jaiyana addresses him, but he does have the decency to look down, a faint blush coloring his ruddy cheeks. "Yes'm, I was. Janiven said you were excellent at what you do, and I could learn a thing or two. I..." He seems to sense he is getting ahead of himself. "I am Larko, and I hear you are Jaiyena, yes?"

    To the groans of the others, Yakopulio climbs and stands up on the back of one of the central shelves, "Welcome fellow fools! I am Yakopulio and if any of you need your feet or other lower extremities warmed during the night, please let me know... Fiosa is going for a very reasonable rate this evening!" At this point the buxom gnome must jump nimbly down to dodge the clothes, shoes, writing utensils, and like objects sailing her way from various parts of the room. "Fine, now it'll be double for her services! You ungrateful..." She fails to see the large pillow in time. One moment she is standing up straight and indignant, the next she is gone, and a pile of pillows nearby is giggling with mirth. A muffled, [smaller]"Half the normal fee?" is smothered by at least three more pillows.

    Sometime later, Yakopulio approaches Tavi's niche, a silken smile on her face. "Hey there darlin, welcome to hotel Aroden!" She notices the band on your upper arm and reaches up as if to touch it, but stops well short, "Oooh, that's a pretty thing. What's this here then? A gull of some sort?" She sounds only half teasing, mostly genuinely curious.

    Lucon pants heavily, letting his sword drop. In disbelief, he draws his fingers across the raw scar visible through his torn clothes, burned closed by healing magic. He manages a somewhat manic smile, before his face turns blank and his mind inwards. His eyes shut tight and his lips move silently, giving him the look of a man cursing himself. His eyes widen to notice a similar scar across Amon's chest, and, blinking in incomprehension. "I fell. What...?" he begins, shakily, kneeling before the halfling and meeting his eyes. "Whatever you did, Amon, my family and I are forever in your debt."

    Lucon has little else to say for the journey and he takes some time to steady himself on his feet. The smell of blood and the damp seem to leave him a little unnerved, and you notice some of the colour in his face coming back as they reach the temple.

    When she reaches her hand toward the one of the bands on Tavi's arm, but before she could actually touch it Tavi says in a low voice so that no one but the two of them can hear it It is a pretty thing, but if you want to keep those pie pokers, I wouldn't do that. When she's done talking she gestures down with her eyes. Looking down you see she has pulled a dagger and posed it just outside Yakopulio's navel.
    Her point made she withdraws the dagger and leans back. It is said that only the brave or the foolish still follow Aroden, and neither of those live very long in places such as this. How is it you've all come together? Tavi asks, while going back to honing her blade.

    "'Pie Pokers?' Is that what you call them where you come from? Interesting." Her eye brow does arch when she see's the knife hovering over her navel, and speaks in her normal teasing-tone, "You're quick with that poker Honey, but it's not just about speed, She gives you a meaningful look, "it's more about finesse. But I promise to keep my hands to myself... for now." She gives a light little laugh, "And there are easier way's to get into my clothes, a kind word goes a long way." As she says this she rubs her thumb and index finger together, suggesting money. Speaking up even louder, her voice carrying across the room easily, "Isn't that right Sclavo?!" A distracted, "Shut yer yap ya harlot." is heard from somewhere around the communal area, and starts Yakopulio giggling once more, and elicits various chuckles throughout the room. She returns her attention back to you, a grin riding easily on her face, "Now back to your question, we all got here pretty much the same way you did. Janiven, well Arael in my case, asked us to. Saw something in me he thinks can do some good for the Wescrani people. I'm guessing he figures to use my tavern and whore-house connections to keep an ear to the city and infiltrate the uptiy-ups at some point." She shrugs, "Personally I find it all very amusing! Organizing mass murder from within a shrine of Aroden. Ironic don't you think?"

    At this there are several shouted protests and naysayers, but the busy halfling quiets them, "Pay her no mind, she's just trying to get you riled up." After some murmurs the noise level resumes normal levels. "So, what did Arael say to you to get you here Honey?"


    Mathalen listens to Enko's response, and she accepts your words with a calm nod, but her eyes light up with curiosity, "There really were a dozen of them after you, did you really have to fight them? and Ooze bugs? Mother always told me if I didn't stay in bed the ooze bugs would eat my toes. Are your toes intact?"[/b] She leans over and takes a look herself. Hearing you next question she looks up at you quickly, seeing if there's any mocking in your features. After a moment she sits up all the way, apparently satisfied, and answers, "I do try to be disciplined, yes. My last employer, Sarl, just said I was lazy, he's one to talk!" Before she get's too worked up she takes another deep breath, "So do I look like I study discipline? Are you a Discipline studier too?" Bluff 1d20 ⇒ 17

    Sense Motive DC 17:
    She has no idea what you're talking about when you referred to the Disciplines, but is trying to appear knowledgeable and capable. Just the fact that you asked something of seeming importance about her was quite flattering to her.
