I would guess that the second levelling comes post-Bastards, in 'downtime' taken doing deeds around the city - clearing out goblin nests, killing dark-beasts and generally stuff like that which takes a long time to do on the posts?
I think Waifrin and Marius wanted to find out more about what happened to their families and the estates ... however, that might be very time-consuming to do by posts and in any event would leave everyone else bored while we did. I don't know if you have anything planned for this but I thought I would mention it.

Money and Valuables:
1,333 gp
180 sp
‘Fair Jerrick’s Fair Deals’ store credit (worth 500 gp)
2 small gems (worth 3 gp each)
Weapons and Armor:
6 daggers (from tieflings and 'mummies')
1 spear (from tiefling)
1 very excellent morningstar (from Palaveen)
2 suits of studded leather (from tieflings)
2 very fine suits of studded leather (from 'mummies')
1 very excellent breastplate (from Palaveen)
Miscellaneous:
Tanglefoot bag (from 'mummies')
Potion (from Palaveen)
Wand (from Palaveen)
10 wooden coins (demonic profile on one side, woman’s face on the other)
Silver holy symbol of Asmodeus (from Shanwen)
Iron holy symbol of Asmodeus (from Palaveen)
Chest in Bastards' Hideout:
1 very fine dagger
1 very fine rapier
1 jeweled short sword
Many small gems
1 large pearl
Assorted jewelry
Leather sack with 50 wooden coins (demonic profile on one side, woman’s face on the other)
There was also a set of masterwork thieves' tools (which went to Raven) and a masterwork breastplate (which went to Marius), as well as a vial of pink fluid of a lighter color than the potions of cure light wounds found so far (which went to Waifrin).

Dabbler |

Hmmm ... let me guess, the rapier wouldn't be one of them would it? I'm thinking about giving Waifrin a weapon proficiency, but I'm not sure what it could or should be. Certainly she's going to be more involved in combat at times, though.

F. Castor |

Truth be told, the 'very fine suit of studded leather' and the 'very fine rapier' are what interest me, but I am a flexible guy.
As for the other stuff, I am guessing Waifrin would probably be interested in at least the second 'very fine suit of studded leather', while the wand would probably go to Akorian or Zarabeta (though, if we take into account that Palaveen was a cleric judging from his belongings, I would say Akorian is a more probable candidate).
Furthermore, I should think that the lack of decidedly wizardly loot should probably mean that Zarabeta should get a larger cut of the cash and jewelry than the rest of us so as to balance things out a bit.

therealthom |

Aaah. Splitting the loot. A time of peace and harmony.
Before you level, in the game thread can you give me your plan for getting back to the bright homey part of the city? Any reasonable plan will succeed. Or do you plan to do any more exploring around here before going back?

Dabbler |

We can get back 'over the wall' as we did before, I think, or we could lie up in a house until day and just walk around the outside walls. I think we'd want to return when rested and finish exploring the Bastard's hide out, and deal with the goblins etc.
Everyone in agreement, or have another plan?

Dabbler |

OK, I've levelled my hit points, basic stats and my 4th-level increase (to Charisma, surprise!), but I haven't done powers, feats or skills yet. The latter two depend on if things evolve in exploring Marius & Waifrin's history. Powers wise I get one at 4th level, and I was thinking ...
Swarm of Crystals
Metacreativity (Creation)
Level: Psion/wilder 2
Display: Material
Manifesting Time: 1 standard action
Range: 15 ft.
Area: Cone-shaped spread
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: None
Power Resistance: No
Power Points: 3
Thousands of tiny crystal shards spray forth in an arc from your hand. These razorlike crystals slice everything in their path. Anyone caught in the cone takes 3d4 points of slashing damage.
Augment: For every additional power point you spend, this power’s damage increases by 1d4 points.
There was some debate about this power recently on the Dreamscarred boards, is it too powerful as it has no save and no spell resistance. However, we checked the details on the Pathfinder FAQ and because it does typed physical damage (slashing) all forms or DR are effective against it, and it only does d4 damage with a bad range for a second-level power anyway. All that said, you're the DM Thom, and I don't want to write it down if you aren't happy with it.
The reason I'm hesitating about investing feats and skills is that if Marius and Waifrin find, say, a cache of her father's books, she would invest more heavility in her knowledge skills. If they found an odd weapon (like a power-storing sword) Waifrin could train with it and get a weapon proficiency. I'm not expecting too, but I thought it'd be good RP to leave the options open for now as this seems to be happening in 'down time' as we level up, then I can invest them appropriately to the character development.

At 3rd level Raven gains +1 to base attack and to Fort and Will saves, as well as +1d6 to sneak attack and Trap Sense +1. He also gains a feat (Mobility). His favored class bonus will once again be the extra skill point.
Hit points gained: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
At 4th level he gains +1 to base attack and to Ref save, as well as Uncanny Dodge and a rogue talent (choosing Combat Trick to gain the Blind-Fight feat). Favored class bonus once again is the skill point.
Ability score increase: +1 to Dexterity
Hit points gained: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Edit: Rerolling 3rd level hit points: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

I've bumped Akorian up two levels with a whole new list of spells to choose from. Also incorporated the +1 morningstar from Palaveen. Once we determine what the wand can do, we'll either want to sell it or designate it as communal property...i.e., if it's a wand of cure light wounds or something, we'll put it to use for the greater good of the party.
3rd level hit points... 1d8 ⇒ 8
4th level hit points... 1d8 ⇒ 2

Just realized Zara did not make out at all with the loot list.
The introduction of the Sorcerer has made it a little rougher being a Wizard, since, in the good old days, I'd have had a couple of low-level spellbooks as 'loot' by know. As of 3rd edition, enemy arcanists are more commonly Sorcerers and come with no such happy largesse. :)
No big 'though. The only gear I consider must-have is armor and weapons for those that use them. Wizards should be able to function just fine without magic items (and, in my limited experience, pretty much end up doing just that, since a fair amount of magic loot is armor and weapons anyway).
She's probably drunk a disproportionate number of healing potions anyway, which might count as Z's 'share.' :)

A question: How do we treat gaining new languages via the Linguistics skill? Putting a skill point to it means I also gain a new language, so do I just choose any one language or are there any special stipulations to the whole thing?
Edit: Also, what armor was Waifrin wearing before putting on the masterwork studded leather?
Edit 2: Did we ever identify that light pink potion found on the bone-clawed tiefling (Waifrin has it)? Supposedly, it was like the potions of cure light wounds found so far but of a lighter color.

Edit 2: Did we ever identify that light pink potion found on the bone-clawed tiefling (Waifrin has it)?
It was a pink potion of gastric relief.

F. Castor |

Raven will be choosing Dwarven as his new language (he put a skill point at Linguistics when leveling up to 3rd level).
Alrighty then. Here we are. The masterwork light crossbow I have written down as Akorian's is one we found while we were moving through the sewers at the beginning of the adventure (I believe a Hellknight had it). I remember Akorian getting it. Anyway, feel free to take a look and tell me if I have missed something or have made a mistake.

Well that brings the total to around 4000gp of party funds if we included the assorted gems & jewellery, and the 500gp credit in the store.
What I would suggest (currently) is a stipend from that of 500 gp per person, with Zara getting an extra 500 gp for her to buy spells with, and keep back 1000gp for any special requirements in the future, as well as returns to the original owners should we find them. Some items, like the jewelled short-sword, may be easier to identify and return than others.
I haven't accounted for the masterwork items there, I am guessing Raven would like the masterwork rapier, and Zarabeta can have the dagger as she has had precious little else so far.

F. Castor |

As far as the TO BE DECIDED items are concerned, I have labeled them thus because of the loot lists mentioning a blacksmith and other people having been robbed by the Bastards. Otherwise, I agree with Dabbler on the matter of how they should be divided among the various party members.
The tanglefoot bag is a useful item anyone could get, though perhaps Waifrin or Zarabeta would be better candidates so as to have something to hinder foes if or when their spells and powers are expended.
The potion of disguise self I do not know who should get or if we should just keep it as 'party treasure' to be used if or when it is needed by whoever needs it at the time. Speaking for myself, Raven is not interested in it.
Also, I suppose the wand of of cure light wounds should obviously go to Akorian, as he is the only one capable of using it.

As somebody with distinctive looks, Waifrin is! Plus she has the social skills for in infiltration should it be needed.

I agree. Let's set Waifrin up with the potion of disguise. Whether running from the law or trying to blend in with noble society in order to learn more about the fate of the Goddons, I'm certain she could put it to very effective use.

Dabbler |

UMD is one I may go for with Waifrin, as she has the charisma to pull it off without it being a class skill, all things with skills depending on what happens shortly.
It won't necessarily be a sense motive, but it should be pretty obvious that Waifrin, ah, likes Akorian. Not only did he show attention to another woman, he also did so in a way that belittled Waifrin's skills'.
Thing to remember with Waifrin is, there is no 'if' in the statement 'if looks could kill' ...

Neil Spicer Contributor, RPG Superstar 2009, RPG Superstar Judgernaut |

We may have to put this one down as an unrequited love...or drag it out as a "will they, won't they" thing then. Akorian is mostly taken with Amaya at the moment. To him, Waif is young and damaged from the all she went through after what the Infernal Majestrix did to the Goddon family. Her cousin is also a bit off-putting. Despite all that, he definitely wants to see her succeed and reclaim her birthright. But he's not in a position of like liking her. At least, not yet. Ugh. That sounds so grade school. :-]
