"Inside are three scrolls (Lightning Bolt (CL5), Scorching Ray (CL3) and Cat's Grace (CL3)"
We should have these puppies ready.
I will have my bomb making supplies ready as well. Also, a potion of Invis and Gaseous form.
I will disappear (wink)as my beginning action

Fernleaf moves closer to the bridge skulking in the shadows as he moves closer to the entrance of the Tabernacle of the Jewel of Everlasting Gold. He feels the heat emanating from the molten gold below which is much closer to this uncovered stone bridge.
GM Stuff S: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
GM Stuff P: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28
Fernleaf Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Fernleaf spots something large hiding in the shadow of the entryway on the far side of the bridge. He sees glowing eyes staring back at him. An enormous skeletal dragon, plated from head to tail in gold and sparkling in the greenish glow from above, steps from the shadows and onto the bridge. Upon sensing intruders, it flaps its skeletal wings and opens its large jaws, and begins stomping forward across the ground. A small piece of poop falls into Fernleaf's underpants. Welcome to level 5!
Anaba Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

I will apply Oil of Invisibility to myself as my action this round. Abracadabra! Poof! Fernleaf disappears.
My intent is to sneak up on the thing and back stab him with my poisonous swords. Blue Whinnis: Main hand - Lizard Dude Poison: Off hand. Then, if necessary, drop the off-hand and draw the Blue Whinnis encrusted dagger. I can get 2 uses out of each dose of poison, please recall. I also have poison tipped arrows, w/ Lizard dude poison. but not using them yet.
Maybe I could throw this bomb... I want to see what it does. But not yet.

A voice in your head says...This is a skeleton with no blood or circulatory system...I may want to reconsider moving to backstab the dragon with poison and my non-blunt edged shortsword..."

"Skeletal Dragon" oh yeah... err.
Please allow this noob to retract and reconsider my action.
I am not sure of the grid or my range. Been researching Throw Splash Weapons and range is set at 20 feet. Attack against "ranged flat footed".I am thinking a bomb here may be just the trick but I am confused as to the mechanics of what to roll and what my bonuses are.
I will NOT quaff the invisibility potion nor will I prepare my edged weapons. I should already be hidden (please let me know when I need to roll Stealth at any point here - I am attempting extreme stealth the whole time, so I will try to sneak my way closer, ultimately ending up behind him. I want a sneak attack, but am too far away.
I am very suspicious of this rectangle here, too. It looks different. I will check for traps, etc. on the edge of what I fear may be a dangerous spot on the bridge.

You are confident you are not hidden as he looked right at you, stepped out from his hidden spot, and is preparing to rip you apart and toss your limp body in the molten gold. You can not stealth while an enemy is looking directly at you. You are pretty sure he can close the distance from where he is to you with no problem in a single round and bite your face off...did I mention this is a dragon?

applying night drops to Fahari..can i do anything else?
Any buffs or other helpful spells. Now would be the chance. Otherwise, please ready healing of all descriptions. If you have any big offensive spells (not fire based), that would be good when he gets in range. I believe Fernleaf may be an Hors D'oeuvre
This would be THE fight for which we needs go balls to the wall, I fear. Use 'em or lose 'em Ladies.

Cela Night drops wont do anything - you already have three light sticks glowing so adding low light vision won'y help. Bless will or any other buffs.
Fernleaf is correct - you should do all you can, you have time to rest before entering the main structure. This is a Dragon and don't underestimate the damage it will soon be doing to all of you.
KN Religion or Arcana to know more about this beast!

Sekkimm casts Enlarge
Rolande texted me - he wanted to delay his action until after the dragon to see if gets closer in range.
Cela uses her Bless wand +1 to hit and vs fear for everyone except Fernleaf. She knows one thing - this is one big nasty looking skeletal dragon.
The Dragon moves forward 50' and releases a 40' cone of flame covering the area in front of the bridge where Fernleaf was last seen in fire
Hot Breath of Hell DC19 Reflex save: 4d10 ⇒ (1, 6, 5, 9) = 211d4 ⇒ 1 Fernleaf you have evasion feat 0 damage if you save 21 if you fail.

I will run as fast as fast I can in the direction indicated on the map.
Running X 4 = 80 ft.
I will attempt to hop up on the side of the bridge(?) thingie up on anything that is uppable. I am still invisible.
feel free to adjust on the map
This is if needed hopping on a ledge, etc.:
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32
I suspect this thing is making a good bit of noise.
| GM Pablo |
Fernleaf takes 21 points of damage
Rolande need to fix your rolls a bit - If you take two shots...
You are normally +11 to hit
Rapid shot gives you a -2 with each shot, so +9 At this range you are -8 so overall +1 to hit (this would be and additional +1 to hit if target within 30' from Point Blank Shot)
If you use your offhand weapon and regular weapon for your 1st shot you take penalties and the shots to hit will look like this (this would be and additional +1 to hit if target within 30' from Point Blank Shot):
1st shot (main) +4
2nd shot offhand -1
3rd shot (using both hands and multishot after dropping offhand (weapon cords so just dangles) +8
At this range you would be -8 on everything
1st shot (main) +5 -8 +1 (bless) =-3
2nd shot offhand -1 -8 +1 (bless) =-8
3rd shot +8 -8 +1 (bless) = +1
Also you now get +2d6 when using grit for up-close and deadly
Damage with the main like this is 1d8 + 2d6 +1 (+1 weapon) add one more +1 damage if target within 30' from up-close and deadly)
Resolving the three shots as is...
18-3 =15 =hit (Roll 1d8 + 2d6 (up-close and deadly) +1 (magic weapon) +4 Pistol training @5th level)
8-8 = 0 miss
17 +1 = 18 hit (Roll 1d8 + 1 (magic weapon) +4 Pistol training @5th level)
Hopefully that all makes sense total damage is now 2d8 +2d6 + 10 we will keep existing damage rolls 2d8 = 14 + 1d6 = 5 +10 You are at 29 points roll 1 more 1d6 this round to finish resolving.
Fernleaf runs and jumps on the bridge support (moved you from the molten gold - you don't want to jump in there!) - he is still invisible.
