Dungeon Monkey |

As the light on the Outlands increases and Swift gets a good look around, she notices sounds coming from below on the rutted trail. Below her in the distance, a buckboard is being driven up the trail, possibly the same one she saw leave before. She guesses that it will arrive roughly 10-15 minutes to the cave entrance where she is located.

Greep |

"The fiver of gobbos who just came out of the warehouse are waiting by the loading door- maybe for that wagon." -greep- "Could they be hauling something back thru the gate we think is inside?"
"We know Swift went inside many hours ago- but no uproar leads us to believe that she may have followed the goblins thru a gate- whose gate key may involve a rock crystal on a chain I've seen some of the gobbos wearing around their neck."
-gree-eep-
"Swift followed a wagon in- if this one goes to the same destination, she may come out. Unless something has happened." -greep-
"But keep eyes up as well- I've heard wings and that a 'fiend' could be about."

Dungeon Monkey |

The wagon noises become louder as it approaches your area. no need for Perception. Thanks to Eir's warning, you all manage to do a fade into the thickening fog as the wagon rumbles past. Two goblins sit at the front, driving a two-horse wagon along.
Greep:
The wagon rumbles past your position without the drivers noticing you and heads towards the distant warehouse. It stops in front of the building, and the two goblins dismount and talk with the five that are already on the warehouse's loading docks. After a few moments of conversation two goblins enter the warehouse, one sits at the wagon and four descend to street level and begin to walk towards your position. It shouldn't take more than a few minutes for them to reach you.

Greep |

-greep-
"That's the wagon that went out loaded with salt last night. Do you think those four goblins are headed to the meeting? If so, should we drop back? Was the plan to watch said meeting or interupt it? Either way starting something now and here is going to bring reinforcements for the gobbos quick." -greep-
"I'm not a tatics guy and I haven't slept in a while. Eir and Zigel- your ideas have been good and you know the city, What's the plan? You tell me and we'll do it. But decide."
-greep-eep-
edited to spell Zigel's name correctly. oops.

Eir Haakonen |

"If we go in while their friends are gone we may get flanked when they return. If we get it on with the gobbos at the Dungeon crawl we can knock a few off while they are away from their base, but we risk attracting the ire of other goblins. Of course it may be that the gobbos at the Crawl may have important information, and that's why they're there."
Long pause. She lights a cigar.
"My take on this is that we're rolling the dice. Zigel?"

stealth +13 = 1d20+13=32
additional +2 from fog gives 34, -2 from jaw dropping gives 32

Karrin Kind |

Is everyone waiting for Karrin?
Stealth (1d20 3=23)
Karrin is quite light on her feet
25 if the fog gives them a +2
"So are we following these guys or are we gonna thump em' now?"

Dungeon Monkey |

The four goblins walk towards your position. Through the fog you can make out that there are two goblins dressed in mail, one heavily-tattooed and carrying a large spiked chain, and one very large goblin who is dressed in fancy silk clothing, jewelry and a rapier. They are chattering animatedly among themselves as they near your position in Goblin.
For those who speak Goblin:
One chainmailed goblin: "I'm telling yeh Duuvarg, there's somethin' going down, I can smells it."
Duuvarg (the fancy-dressed character): "Sargak, when I want yer opinion I'll beat it from yeh. I aint got time fer every cully's screed what sees an imp playing jacks by the warehouse in the fog, and ..."
At this point the goblins are walking close to your position. Zigel's foot rolls on a loose cobble and it makes a short scraping sound. The four look around, all grasping their weapons' hilts. They spot Zigel. The large silk-clad one shouts at him in gutteral Cage Cant.
"Sod off yeh lousy maggot-born bastard! This here's goblin turf an' yer trespassin'."
The four goblins keep an eye on Zigel as they walk.
If Zigel takes off:
If Zigel holds his ground:
"A hard case, eh? P'raps a lesson is in order. Sargak, Horv?"
The two chainmailed goblins approach Zigel.

Ffethpaar |

Zigel Za Elric |

Zigel takes a moment to think he wants nothing better to freeze the goblins face in ice. However a fight this close to there strong hold is not a good ideal and he hasn't seen the others yet. Zigel puts a easy smile on his face.
"No offense ment, just looking fo' a trollop and a bit of entertainment this anti peak cutter." Zigle straightens his cloths and nods toward the goblins giving hand sigels to Kratos "On my way I am no need fo' any of that take my hunting elsewhere I's will "
He makes his exit from the ally keeping close though kratos."That basher will soon be in the deadbook" he thinks to himself as he takes comfort in the cold flowing though his hands.

Kratos |

Kratos watches his master go feeling the burning need to kill the goblins. Kratos recalls his master temper at times he had no doubt before this night was done that one would be a frozen husk. For now he will stay with the others and fallow as his master wishes. He could smell them from here they would not escape.

Dungeon Monkey |

The four goblins vanish into Rat Twitch Alley. After a few minutes, Zigel returns to the area. The hour approaches when the meeting was supposed to occur between Rab Norgins and the goblins 6 AM . Still no sign of Swift, and although the fog is thick, you all can see that the light levels are definitely increasing.
OK, you are near the entrance of Rat Twitch Alley. The time is 5:50 AM, and the surrounding neighborhood seems deserted.

Dungeon Monkey |

Swift sees the buckboard wagon near the cave. Two goblins sit aboard it. The back is loaded with slabs of salt covered in a waxed tarpaulin. The wagon pulls up into the small clearing in front of the cave and the goblins descend from it and begin to unlash their load. Once the tarp is off one of the goblins helps the other shoulder a salt slab with a rope harness. The encumbered goblin pulls a pendant from inside his mail shirt and enters the cave.
OK Swift, Stealth and Perception rolls. If you are going to try and follow the goblin an Acrobatics roll as well. I will assume since you had ample warning of their arrival that you will not have to roll to remained concealed in your present position if that is what you wish.

Blacky |

More than a little relieved at the sound of the wagon the small black cat keeps herself hidden, silently cursing how long it's taken and that she has very little to report considering her long absence. Irritating goblins. Clinging to the shadows of the cave she watches them closely for a moment before quickly following them on swift, agile paws.

Dungeon Monkey |

Swift observes the goblin's portal pendant fully for the first time. It seems to be a small smooth rock, with several bands of different color within it. Quite possibly some sort of agate. It is in a crude silver setting that is attached to a silver chain. Swift nimbly follows the goblin as he enters the cave. The goblin heads straight for the small alcove, holding his pendant with his free hand. The grey-blue nimbus of a portal forms, and he enters.
Swift you can enter with him if you want, I will use the roll values above for getting into the portal. However I will need a DC 20 Stealth roll for the other side.

Dungeon Monkey |

Blacky uses her cat fu to dive through the portal and tumble (gracefully) behind a stack of salt slabs in the original warehouse she had left several hours or a month ago. When she arrives she sees several goblins working in the warehouse stacking, sorting and hauling salt. They are all wearing pendants similar to the one the goblin she followed had, and once he is through the others begin to enter the portal, headed back to the Outlands cave. The goblin you followed chats briefly with his peers, then walks towards the door where Blacky had entered the warehouse, still shouldering his salty burden.
Following him will be fairly easy Swift, just a DC 12 Stealth. He will be opening the front door to emerge, so if you want to go outside a DC 15 Acrobatics will do the trick. If you desire to remain and spy on the gobbos, a DC 10 Stealth will ensure you remain hidden from them.

Blacky |

Torn between the opportunity to spy a little more, and morbidly curious as to what would happen if she followed to the outlands again and actually tried to run the risk of following the gobbos this time it takes the young tibbit a moment to remember she has a group to report back to. 'Besides,' she tells herself 'salt and goblins are boring'
Her mind made up she slinks off after the goblin and through the door, certain he's too distracted with his salt to spot her.

Dungeon Monkey |

Blacky easily darts outside the doorway into Crackskull Close without attracting attention. The salt-burdened goblin moves along the loading dock platform. At the platform, a wagon and another goblin wait. The two goblins heave the salt into the empty bed of this wagon.
Blacky notices that it must be close to Before Peak now. You are on the same wavelength of the others, 5:50 AM. The Cage Fog has swirled up as it has a habit of doing most mornings, and the narrow alleyways around look fairly quiet. No immediate sign of Greep, but Blacky is sure he must be hiding nearby.

Blacky |

Dungeon Monkey |

Blacky lopes off into the mist, headed in the general direction of the New Market. She doesn't have to run far when she spies a few indistinct shapes huddled in a small dark alcove whispering. She hears a familiar greeping noise and smells unwashed bullhound. It looks like the gang's all here.

Swift. |

Sighing gently Blacky slopes off, taking advantage of the mist to hide away to change into her humanoid form. Moving over to meet with the group the young woman smiles playfully and rests her chin on Greep's shoulder with a small content sound. "Hi there, miss me?" She purrs with a little grin.

Greep |

-greep-
"The large one wearing silk said "Sargak, when I want yer opinion I'll beat it from yeh. I aint got time fer every cully's screed what sees an imp playing jacks by the warehouse in the fog, and ..." That sounds like he's ignoring the other's suspicions- but if their contact doesn't show? He may become more wary. Plus the fog may burn off before the goblins get tired of waiting for the 'gate-jacked' one."
-gr-ee-eep-
Greep begins handing out 'expd. retreat' charges from his wand unless someone objects while, hopefully, someone more familiar with the area plans the path of ambush.

Dungeon Monkey |

quicky update on the fly ... the gobbos have indeed left the area and entered the Dungeon Crawl tavern. All of you are roughly 50 Meters/yards from the entrance of said tavern, which is down an alley off the street you are huddled on. It is the beginning of Before Peak (6 AM) and the gobbos will be expecting Norgins to arrive soon.

Eir Haakonen |

Ambush? How do we know they'll come here? If we know they'll come here then I'm with Greep.... We ambush here. If we don't know they'll come here then we should get them outside the tavern. I don't even know who they are...Where are we, I know the name of the alley and I know we are 50m from the tavern but tactically speaking that ain't much.
After a little thought, I think it would be more fun to walk in and throw around a few lines and do some roleplaying than lie silently in wait and then calculate a combat. But the problem with that is that we will then have to fight the whole bar.

Greep |

it would be more fun to walk in and throw around a few lines and do some roleplaying than lie silently in wait and then calculate a combat.
Agreed.
"We could ambush them -in- the bar. Here's my thought- Eir walks in, claiming to be their face man's replacement ('He owed me, so now You goblins work with me.') That allows her to question them. If there's trouble, or after a short while- Zigel walks in. He's already been warned off by the gobbos, so it shouldn't take much for trouble between them to start- especially if he's alone and been drinking. After trouble starts, the rest of us join in. Since they start it, the bar may not get involved."
-GREE-EEP-
"Karrin acts as Eir's muscle. Ffethpaar and I are patrons with Kratos. Swift sneeks in." -greep-
"Though, the gobbos will likely pass by here when returning to warehouse, should a standard ambush sound better."
-greep-
