I'm interested. Have not played or GMed it either, so even more better!

I have so many characters in level range (...9 characters in 7-11 range...), I'll hold off on character until others post.

Would like to play Kudor, my Dimensional Assaulting Shield Bashing Slayer.

I have played this before but did not complete the adventure and would be using a GM * Replay.

If that's at all an issue I'm happy to step asside.

I've been looking forward to playing the summoner pregen but wouldn't want to bump an actual player. When do you plan to start this?

If it is starting next month I should have a Wizard in range. But he is an Evoker with a capital E and may not suit an investigation mission.

With what's signed up so far, I'm leaning towards my Spellscar Oracle 9. He's a pure defense abjuration specialist, no damage or debuffs, and quite good at counterspells and dispelling magical effects. He can also deal with traps. He has no issues using defensive and healing spells in combat.

Also of note, he has adventured in Ustalav before.

This is part of GameDay V so the game will begin on 27 August.

The 27th is when he would hit level 7. I'll play it safe and play the pregen. I like summons and Balazar has some decent social skills.

We gonna try to recruit more? Right now we're at 3.

So, we have:

Going to go ahead and open discussion and gameplay, please post pertinent info in discussion and you are welcome to engage in some pregame roleplaying in gameplay.

I am looking to join if you are still accepting. Would play Heccan Abraxi 7th level sorcerer.

With Wicked Brew that puts us at APL 8.5

So we as a group have a choice.

We can choose to round that down to 8. That puts us in the 7 - 8 subtier with 4 players that are out of tier.

Or we can round that up to 9. That puts us in the 10 - 11 subtier but with the 4 player adjustment if there is one. 5 of us would be out of tier. Albiet with more gold and possibly better items. If we live.

Since I'm playing a pregen and assigning it to a new character I have very little stake in this so abstain from voting.

I would bring in a real character to help push it one way or the other but when this starts both of my characters in range will be level 7.

I'll be getting OoT gold either way. We might get access to better stuff. But is it worth barely making it to the high tier? (As you can tell, I'm skeptical.)

Especially with a level 7 pregen, I would recommend playing down.

With two 7's, I'd prefer to play down as well.

Guess I am in? Cool. I am fine with playing up or down. Playing down less risky but as Herodotus points out, good loot either way.

That is 3 votes for down and 2 non votes. Down it is. Hopefully Rognak is okay with it.

I think for action economy purposes I will be summoning a Hound Archon before we go into a situation that might be dangerous. That will free me up for casting other spells.

At 10th level, I will be voting up but understand. If things change we might have to revisit it but to give the group a rough idea on his power, with a slot at each level left open to change spells with fast study, he still has 5 1/2, 4 3/4 and 2 5th level spells. It might end up being a cake walk. Now the other option might be to swap him out for my laser Cleric (Aasimar 8)

The consensus seems to be play at 8-9. I don't mind cake walks but you should play what makes you happy.

I agree with that beyond words.

*Err 7-8 not 8-9. But otherwise yea.

Sounds like you all are leaning toward 7-8 subtier. That's fine with me. Keep in mind if you do decide to play up it would be with the 4 player adjustment.

@Rognak -- you are most effected, feel free to bring you laser Cleric if you want or stick with your wizard. Your choice.

Welcome back. Having some preknowledge of this scenario I'm happy to not vote on the tier and play whatever the table chooses.

Looks like Rognak graciously switched to Brother Theo, so we are firmly in 7-8 now.
