Piotr charges at the blue ape-man, kicking at it with all the momentum he has.
Left hoof, charge: 1d20 - 3 + 2 ⇒ (11) - 3 + 2 = 101d3 ⇒ 3

Garduk makes his way over to Juliet and Oret, and takes a shot at the blue ape-man.
Crossbow, into melee: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 2 - 4 = 101d8 ⇒ 6
He turns to Juliet and Oret, showing them the now-inert cube.
"Well, I got it to work, but it looks like the Azlanti were only worried about enormous killer ape-men. Maybe normal-sized killer ape-men weren't considered a threat? Any ideas?"

I'll take the axe since I don't think I'd knock blue prone

"I am, as much like you, at a lost. Maybe you should shake it?"

With Piotr and Kulga surrounding the blue ape, Bokkah steps into the group's center and invokes Lamashtu's blessing, hoping to help everyone attack a little more accurately.
Casting bless.

Oret maintains his vigil on the lead archeologist, while Kulga does damage with her waraxe. Bokkah calls for divine blessing; as Garduk's bolt finds only the palisade wall. Celeste misses on one last attack and the pony's hoof attack misses as well.
The nearest ape-man attempts a retaliatory attack on Kulga...
All around Pathfinders and Aspis are getting the better of the ape-men, it seems the battle may be nearly won.

21 since I'm adjacent to one (and only one) enemy
Kulga narrowly hooks away the ape-man's club with the curve of her axe, though the blow still puts her off balance for a moment.

I may have been looking at the wrong enemies.
"I trust you have them covered Kulga! I'll check on the others!" Oret yells from afar, and he moves towards north where he eyes some ape-men climbing over the wall.
Move and ready to attack if any ape-men come within my reach.

Casting Bless seems to have made Bokkah's token disappear from the map.
We should be winning this fight - didn't anyone tell the apes?
Garduk reloads his crossbow, takes a 5-foot step to get a better line of sight, and fires at the ape-man engaged with Kulga.
crossbow: 1d20 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 2 + 1 - 4 = 121d8 ⇒ 6

Piotr the Celestial Pony |

Piotr - more than a little squicked, as a celestial pony, at receiving Lamashtu's blessing - also attacks the blue ape-man, rearing back and striking out at the beast's head with both hooves.
Left hoof: 1d20 - 3 + 1 ⇒ (20) - 3 + 1 = 181d3 ⇒ 1
Right hoof: 1d20 - 3 + 1 ⇒ (14) - 3 + 1 = 121d3 ⇒ 1

Oret prepares an attack, but all the ape-men are busy fighting others and are not fairing well, as ape-men begin to fall all over camp. Kulga's axe and shield both miss, but Bokkah arrives and her claw cuts into the ape-man. Garduk's bolt misses through the crowd, but Piotr manages a glancing blow. The creature fights on but can't seem to hit the armed dwarf.

I'll just double move.

Kulga and Bokkah dispatch the latest ape-man. Looking around it seems the others have done the same! A ragged, much more muted cheer goes up from the camp’s exhausted defenders. The wounded and dead are treated and gathered up. But only a short-while later the guards in the tower sound their horns, and point at the cliff that looms over the south end of the dig. What's left of the ape-men are trying to decent the sheer cliff and assault from behind. The exhausted camp rallies once more and you begin making use of even more of the arrows and bolts you brought. Ape-men begin to fall from the rock, most from the projectiles, but others from simply loosing there grip on the difficult climb. Those that do reach the ground are quickly finished off by the resolve of the camp defenders or die from the chaotic rain of shrieking ape-men landing on them from a fall. And with that the Battle for Azlant Ridge is won!
In the aftermath, with the ape-men and their champion defeated, the remnants of the ape-men flee back into the jungle, giving the excavation site its first relative peace in 10 months. But with most of the camp either wounded or sick, Juliet fears she may have to bury the site and take the key with her back to Absalom.
Thank you all so much, without your help this day I fear we would all be dead. I owe you my life. My chronicle report will be sure to note that the success at Azlant Ridge exploration was due in no small part to your efforts.
Juliet gives the surviving Aspis agents, her thanks and then gives them till morning to rest and then vacate her camp. The Aspis grumble about it, but leave as they were told to and you wonder if there is hope for future cooperation with the snakes; at least for one day it was possible when united in a common cause.
Over the next several days, Juliet guides the camp through packing and loading the caravan wagons to head for the coast and catch a vessel bound for Absalom. She packs away the key and the monolith control device and has the camp workers bury all signs of their dig, including triggering a rock fall to rebury the door to the Azlanti complex.
As you get underway to leave, Juliet looks back fondly. I hope to return here again someday! She says with a glimmer of hope.
