got very distracxted and did not check my notes close enough. The two elves atacked in the hall are both males, one is down on his knees, the other is flat on his back (apparently dead)
The three other bandits, are two males and a female, The female and one of the males are armed with crossbows

Are we on round 2, or round 1 if that was a surprise round?
Good question, I made a listen check so not sure if I still have an action in this round or if that was a full rounder!

ahahahahaha, I had to edit it for attacks so many times I overlooked that, sorry!
Tis ok, I have the same issue sometimes on a big DM post where you have to go back and forth like that.

Perivius "Perry" Lalomaundriale |

I'm going to be traveling out of state to visit family for the next week, starting by spending all day tomorrow driving. I'll probably find time to post here and there, but feel free to bot me if need be.

Okay, so here I am with my first full day off trying to explain my absence. Basically, the company I worked for was dissolved, and we merged into a larger company owned by the mega corporation Fluor. All of June was a nightmare, and July we began revising our procedures and finally got new org charts. I am still, sort of, doing the same job, but my immediate manager, well he got a new boss and he really doesn’t like his new boss and I think he is taking out his frustrations on us. We’ve been having stupid long meetings every day. Three employees were fired for time card fraud (which is sort of the catch all excuse for firing people who work on government projects). I know I shouldn’t post from work, but I often do during the week, but with all the changes and scrutiny I was being very cautious. Things are still pretty chaotic at work, but I think things will settle down by the end of July.
On top of that we had a new granddaughter born at the end of June, baby was fine, but mom had a small set back from the c-section she had, and my wife and I were spending a lot of time helping our son and his little family.
I know that’s a lot of silly personal real life stuff to put on the forum but I wanted everyone to know where I’ve been. I have this whole day to try to get all my games caught up and I know some of you have been waiting a very long time. I hope you can find interest in the games again and come back to play when you can.
Thanks, everyone

I had 281 as my count.

Terquem |
was that before or after the just awarded 75?
I had thought that beating the bandits would take everyone right to 300 or a little over. This is a perfect place for the party to level after all.
You'll understand why in a few posts.
So, if you did not add the 75 experience points to your total, do so now, and if you did and are within 25-30 points of 300 xp - increase your xp to exactly 300 and level up now.

Victor von Gladden |

On a business trip and I forgot to bring the 5E players guide. Will level up when I get back.

Both Naill and Victor have politely requested to withdraw from this game.
I will definetly update tomorrow, and hopefully again this weekend. There are a few lose ends to wrap up, but basically you have defeated the enemies camping in the astke.
Now if yo could only find a way to open that door in the northwest tower

Okay, I put a rather long post about what could happen next in the game thread, and I am still sort of waiting for some feedback from the players.
We are losing two characters, bringing the party down to
Ayita
Klodd
Lijan
Magnus
Perry
That’s 5 (a Monk, two clerics, a rogue and a bard). If you know someone who would like to play a Fighter-type and is looking to join a slow paced 5e game, let me know.

Your long post in Gameplay ends with not so much a "What do you do now?" but more of a "Here's what's about to happen next." Other than folks doing their shopping here in Discussion, I don't see anything for anybody to do until you bring us into the next "chapter". Unless I'm misunderstanding something?

You find the rest of the Manor House empty, in a state of some deterioration, but not too far gone that it cannot be restored to a decent condition.
In the northeast corner of the second floor you find a large room that the bandits have turned into their base of operations. In the Bandit base you find six small sacks filled with Alodoan coins of copper, silver and gold. When counted and sorted the total value is 309 gp and 9 cp.
You also find a small wooden box with the following
Two strands of natural fresh water pearls, each seventeen inches long, lustrous white with some pink hued individual pearls - one ruby, small, four or five carats - two emeralds, small each five to eight carats, - one small amethyst, mounted in a gold setting, dark in color with red streaks visible deep in the stone, - 2 large uncut blue turquoise stones
These are exactly the items as described on the note provided to you by the Halfling who was robbed on the bridge
The bandits have some gear, mostly cooking pots, and a few vials of oil and a lantern it is unlikely you would get much for them, but a junk dealer in Pawkatukit will give you 4 gp for the lot.
You find a heavy rolled parchment, very old, in an office on the first floor. It is the deed of sale for the land where the castle stands, described in metes and bounds. It is signed by King Thomas Morales of Harrispania (who was king 150 years ago, the country is now ruled by a parliament, and Prime Minister) and made out to Alfred Von Uvoullovich, dated 1228
You discover, in what is a sitting room on the first floor what you think at first is a large painting of some value, but examining it you discover the painting is actually painted directly onto the wall of the room and the frame is only decorative and nailed to the wall. The painting is a framed landscape (of the countryside of Baravkovia, with a well dressed hunting party on horseback, with hounds all on the run). A signature on the painting can be made out and reads K. Tillor, an investigation in Pawkatukit will reveal that this must have been Katherine Tillor, a famous Harrispanian artist who lived 150 years ago.
Finally, in a round, high ceiling room of the northeast tower of the Manor house, on the first floor, you find a peculiar painting. It hangs high above the floor, the bottom being seven feet above the floor, and it is of a young man with a well groomed mustache and beard, but it has been shredded by something with sharp claws. There are places on the wall for two other portraits of the same size, but they have been removed recently it would appear as the wall where the paintings once hung is not faded in color as the wall around the space where the paintings used to hang.
The society will advance you the reward for the box of stolen gems and necklaces, of 216 gold pieces (keeping 24 gold pieces back for the societies 10 percent, some of which funds the society but also some of which will be used to ensure the items reach Gaderston safely)
Once you have leveled your characters, purchased what gear you think you need, you will receive a Special Wand*of Knocking. This wand has seven charges, and expending a charge will cast the Knock Spell, suppressing Arcane Locks for 10 minutes
I was going to give you a scroll of Dispell Magic, but the risk of the spell not working correctly is too high in my opinion. A Wand of Knocking is a non-standard Magic Wand, which works like other magic wands and it regains 1d6+1 charges every day, if you use the last charge roll a d20, and if you roll a 1 it crumbles into dust.

If anyone has anything they want to say in the game thread, go ahead. When I post next, maybe tomorrow, I will advance the calendar, and set the scene for your return to Castle Caldwell. You are still under the contract to clear the castle, including the tower you could not get into, in the time you were given. You spent one day traveling to the castle and clearing the outer wall areas, and on the second day you cleared the Manor House. On the third day you returned to Pawkatukit.
If you hurry you can return to the castle on the forth day, or take one extra day and return on the fifth day of your mission

Klodd Rockhopper |

Klodd is leveled up, and would like to take the extra day to pray, and tithe his normal 10% to the his faith. He'll also use up his compliment of healing spells volunteering for the sick and injured in the city. He'll dispense funds as follows:
22-gp to the local church to help in whatever is needed.
50-gp Flask of Alchemist Fire
10-gp 50' silk rope
50-gp Potion of healing
25-gp Flask holy water.
4-gp Hotel, food, & Ale
50-gp gem
35 GP leftover

Perivius "Perry" Lalomaundriale |

I'd like to purchase a shield. That's, what, 10gp? I can't actually use it yet, but I'd like to be "practicing" with it during short rests and such until I gain proficiency at 3rd.

Perivius "Perry" Lalomaundriale |

If I counted the values from that long post above correctly, then the party take is 529.09gp, which (divided by five) is 105.81gp apiece (with 4 coppers left over).
Does that look right to everyone?

Terquem |
I apologize for not keeping better records, but
This is all the treasure I thought the party found
A green stone worth 50 gp
500 silver pieces in a sack
3000 cp, 4000 sp lose
A red gem worth 50 gp
A small red gem worth 300 gp
Two brown and gold stones worth 50 gp each
A Ring worth 50 gp
Then we add the bandit treasure 309 gp, 9 cp
Bandit gear 4 gp
and the Reward of 216 gp
For a grand total of 1659 gp and 9 cp found in the castle
Divided 7 ways (let’s give the departing characters a fair share of the treasure) is 237 gp each, and 9 coppers to split somehow.
You were also all paid 50 gp at the beginning of the adventure

Ayita - First to Dance |

I'm going to change what I purchase.
I'm going to pay 100 gp to silver my short sword and 100 gp for a potion of healing, 25 gp for a flask of holy water, and 5 gp for a healer's kit.
Total is 230 gp with 7 gp remaining.

Here is an update for every one of my wonderful patient players
I have not been able to do updates during the week from the computer I normally use due to the recent changes in my employment (working under a new contractor). I won’t go into details, because the truth is I allowed myself to get spoiled by the previous contractor’s more or less indifference to how much time we spent messing around on the internet (as long as we got our work done, they didn’t seem to care much). The new boss is watching us, and has installed something called iPrism, to track our online activity.
What this means, first I am not shutting down any games. I love the games here, and I have great players. What it does mean is that I will try to do more updates on week nights and on the weekends, but it also means that my already slow games will probably get slower.
If any of you find this is something you just don’t have time for and want to drop out I will not hold that against you. I understand that players want to spend their time doing something that they feel is worth their effort, so I will do my best to give you the best game I can, but understand it might be slower than it has been in the past.
Thank you

Terquem |
Got my first set of stitches out today and the lab report says the cancer was fully excised so I am going to have a great recovery. I hope to be updating games tomorrow. I've been a little weak, and work is still a bit rough, but I have no intention of quitting my games, so
Thank you for being patient with this old man

Perivius "Perry" Lalomaundriale |

Um, I'm not sure how to say this, but... are you sure you're still up for this game, Terquem? That is, might it be worthwhile to consider the possibility of getting some things off your plate so you can focus on your own health/well-being a bit more? You seem a bit overloaded.
Just a thought. Obviously it's up to you. :)

Terquem |
You have a good point, but I really like this game. If I am going to stop any, it will not be this one. I know it's frustrating, but I actually see things getting a whole lot better for me soon, free time wise. So as long as you are willing to hang in there, I promise I will get back to a better schedule.
