Cap'n Voodoo |

Dingus tosses a globule of acid over the Corlisses's heads to strike one of the remaining creatures. The burns distract it from its continued attack and it misses. The final creature removes the ornate polearm from the statue's grasp and waves it overhead as it advances around the pit. The polearm screams even louder and Kaul feels a brief uncertainty that passes. The noise is so loud that it makes it hard to think. All spell casting requires a concentration check over the racket.

"Keelhaul" Kaul |

Round 6

Cap'n Voodoo |

The bloody mutant raises the red-tinted steel polearm above Jim but is split from right shoulder to left hip by Kaul's axe. The shrieking polearm falls silent as it clatters to the floor in the dead creature's grip.
The final creature tries to attack Corliss but seems confused by its apparent double-vision.

James "Madman Jim" Patterson |

"Nicely done, mate! One more to go!" Jim advances on the one facing Corliss and strikes.
Rapier PA: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
The smell of burning slipper seems to take its toll on his accuracy, though.

Corliss Blackboots |

Corliss takes a 5-foot step toward the wall, hoping to give Jim a flanking opportunity, then stabs out with his rapier.
Corliss Blackboots +1 rapier: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 for magic, piercing damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 (18-20)

"Keelhaul" Kaul |

Kaul looks at his scars old and new and chuckles;
"Hur. Always in the wars Jimmer. Ol' Kauly soaks it up like a sponge..."

Corliss Blackboots |

After checking to make sure their foes are irretrievably dead, Corliss gathers his mates for his final healing channel for the day.
"I may not be much o' a swordsman, but I be a top-notch practice dummy!" he exclaims, his crooked grin more of a crooked grimace this time. "Let's hope Bessie appreciates the effort we all put in...."
Corliss Blackboots channel positive energy #3 of 3: 4d6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 5, 4, 3) + 1 = 15
The channel only putting a dent in the damage he and Kaul suffered during the battle, the priest swaps out a couple of 1st-level spells to heal the two some more. Then another stronger one for himself....
Corliss Blackboots cure light wounds (Kaul): 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Corliss Blackboots cure light wounds (self): 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Corliss Blackboots cure moderate wounds (self): 2d8 + 8 ⇒ (1, 7) + 8 = 16

Dingus Mack |

Dingus stays up on his trapeze bar keeping an eye out while the others heal.
"Yay! Good job team. Do any of them have any nice shoes"? .
Dingus makes his way down and begins to loot the bodies.

James "Madman Jim" Patterson |

Jim wipes his rapier clean on some of the rags, and takes more so he can pick up the polearm without touching it. "Let's get out of here. Say, Corliss...did the wounds on the bodies we found look like these things might've done the killing?"

"Keelhaul" Kaul |

As his wounds are healed Kaul nods a thanks to the priest;
"Hur. Much a'blidged Blackboots..."
He chuckles as Jim gingerly picks up the polearm;
"Should'a let Ol' Kauly an' his claw do that Jimmer. Ain't nowt worse than what I seen, what I done... what I'll do..."
The thug's bloody mind drifts to thoughts of revenge and a massacre to come at The Golden Goblin.
"Could be that poleax has a purpose... Could be we's meant to find it... Like me an' Lopps."
The axe head bobs in agreement...
