The first order of business is whether or not to use Roll20. I've never used it before, but I've heard good things. If not using roll20, I will just use Imjur links for maps and whatnot. Does anyone have a preference?

Thanks for the pick.
Roll20 works for me, but Google Docs is more convenient since it loads faster and doesn't require signing in.
I'll get a post up in gameplay as soon as I have time.
Also, you can format URLs by typing [url=blahblahblah}Link name[/url]. Just replace the blahblah with the URL, and the } with a ].

Hey Flinnfurious, I'm glad to hear you're OK, that this is happening, and that I made the cut!

Another question: Do you have a preferred way to handle initiative in PbP games? If not, I've been in a couple of DM Jelani (aka Felicity)'s games and he has a couple house rules that I think make things easier. He can I'm sure give more detail, if you're curious, but in a nutshell:
* DM rolls init for everyone (and any relevant perception roles for surprise)
* Init is played out in blocks, with the order of the blocks being determined by the highest role of the people in that group. (e.g. roll for each player and each antagonist, but in the end if the highest roll was a player, *all* the players go first...and if the highest was an antagonist, *all* the antagonists go first.) If you want more detail, there can of course be > 1 antagonist blocks, e.g. Aboleths > PCs > Minions.
* Within each block, actions happen in posting order, not in order of rolls (so one round Grendil might go before Sperow, and the next Sperow would post first and so act first). The advantage of this is that it means I as a player don't need to wonder what might happen before me, when I'm posting. I find it helps things go faster, and makes the narrative cleaner too.
Anyway, I'm happy to hear however you like to play it. This is just one way I've felt helps combat to move at a nice clip.
Looking forward to diving in!

Talla Zalimar, signing in! Thanks for the selection Flinn, I'm excited to be in this game.
I've never used rollD20, but it seems useful so I wouldn't mind trying it out. Another PbP I'm in uses google docs, which has worked pretty well so far as well.
Grenadil's initiative ideas seem sound. Combat usually seems to take quite a while in this format!
I have a few questions on some of Talla's abilities, now that I'll actually be playing her:
* The stone mystery 'crystal sight' ability doesn't give an action for activation. It's (Ex) rather than (Su) so I'm unsure if it'd be a standard action default or just a swift/free action to activate?
* Her 'diamond blade' from her body, since it's a (Su) ability is technically a standard action. I'm wondering if I'd be able to treat it like a weapon, drawing during a move action and such, just because I like that visual a lot more than keeping a crystal blade on her belt :)
That's all I can remember atm. It's late, time for bed.
I'll make up a proper introduction tomorrow.

Flinnfurious, one more story question: how long ago was the Glow?
EDIT: Oh and as far as Roll20, I've used it and it works Fine for me if you like it. Google docs wins out slightly for me if it works as well for you because I can read it from my phone... But I'll happily go with whichever makes your life easier as the DM.

Seems our GM is a busy man. That's understandable, life comes first and all. I hope you catch a break sometime Flinn :)

Is this still happening, Flinn?

Unfortunate :( Well I'll still be watching, just in case.
