Varuna Varghese |
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Varuna whispers to the others, "Something not right here. Shadows play tricks on the eye. Be weary."
Jhon Doe |
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 4
It´s full of ghosts! And he thinks he was his savior. That can be very dangerous
Jhons moves near Varuna and tries to ask him to be more discreet about whats happening. Then he does the same with Ivaar, there´s no reason to risk he talks and makes angry so many ghosts.
Bluff to pass secret messages: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Ivaar, the Rolling Stone |
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Ivaar catches Jhon's message.
They are spirits too? How I had not seen this? Humm... whatever this crazy ass is somehow controlling them.
Ivaar looks around to his companions.
Not a single one of us know s*** about the divine or the arcane, well maybe the pointed-ear knows. We are so f***ed!
Ivaar wanted to say something, but afraid to say something unapropriated that might angry the man or the spirits he instead whispers in Jhon's ear.
"Say somethin' to him... oh! Say tha' we are here to take care o' the rats in the basemen' tha' move' here after the earthquake!"
Trill, Lissa's Familiar |
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
"You rescued these souls, sir?"
Lissa Meadowlark |
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 15
"Did you mention your name?"
"And, sir, from what did you save these children and why haven't they moved on to the Boneyard?"
DM Snider |
Sence Motive for man: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
When Buck Swashler asks the class the class responds as one voice "No but we see you" followed by a sinister grin.
While the man continues to talk to the rest of you.
"My name is Deris Marlinchen. I am the grounds keeper here."
"Souls? You mean Mrs Herack and her students? They are not spirits and a bone yard is no place for a child, they are all the students in my daughters class. I saved them from the great quake, and I maintain the garden because my daughter will be back soon. "
Hoshiko Masaru Kodo |
Hoshiko is happy to let the Halfling Paladin take lead on all this spiritual stuff since the Tien traveler is out of her depth.
"How may I help out...?" she meekly asks Lissa.
Lissa Meadowlark |
"This man is scaring me a little. Stay on guard."
Lissa addresses a student, "Hello young one, what is your name? Is this your class?"
Buck Swashler |
"Forget him, this class is scaring me a lot. Why are they looking at me like that?"
Buck leaps at the opportunity to change the subject from him to somebody else and follows up on Trill's question
"Yes, how can we help you locate your daughter Mr. Marlinchen? We'd be more than happy to look for her while investigating the rest of this place! As a matter of fact, I think it would be best if we started looking posthaste!"
BEBRAVEANDSTICKTOTHECODEOHMYGAWDWHYDOTHEYLOOKHUNGRYI'MNOTFOOD
*cries quietly to self*
Jhon Doe |
Jhon hasn´t recovered of seeing ald the ghost children answer at once, as if they were one being when Lissa asks the student.
Oh no, they´re going to talk that way again...
DM Snider |
When Lissa ask the little girl what her name is they all respond in the same glitchy voice " We are Cassiel."
When Marlinchen asked about where to locate his daughter "I do not know where to start looking but I would appreciate the help."
Once said the children all speak up "We know where to look. It is our secret place. Come we will take you there"
Feel free to ask anything else BTW this is playing out better than I had imagined... from a roll playing stand point not a i am going to destroy party standpoint lol
Hoshiko Masaru Kodo |
Leaning over to Lissa, Hoshiko asks in a quiet voice..."Did they just say all their names are Cassiel...? How can that be...?"
Buck Swashler |
I should have pushed for a better healthcare package in my Society contract. The therapy I'll need after this...
Buck's face becomes increasingly pale as the children speak in ominous unison,
"L-l-let's get on our way then. Where is this secret place?" He then turns to Mrs. Herack, "W-would it be ok if we borrow your students for a moment?"
PLEASESAYNOPLEASESAYNO
Varuna Varghese |
"Happy to leave. Place is unsettling. Death and shadow everywhere."
Hoshiko Masaru Kodo |
Hoshiko tries to summon the courage to follow the others...
WIL: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16... and clumsily stumbles toward the direction she wants to go in.
I need to get away from this forlorn scene.... she thinks to herself...
Jhon Doe |
Varuna, Varuna, calls Jhon in a quiet voice[/b] we´re goint to a ghost "secret place". Death is more than expected[/b]
He inhales deeply to calm himself. Well, if they don´t look like angry ghosts comming four our souls. And if they´re trapped, they need our help. Jhon tries to remember why he joined the Society; to be part of their heroic adventures. So now is time to calm, and help this poor souls. If only I could stop trembling.
Another inhalation and he can speak. Yes. Please Mrs Herack, can you allow one of your students to lead us to Cassiel? One will be more than enough, be don´t want to disturb your class more than necessary
Ivaar, the Rolling Stone |
Ivaar spits on the ground and starts to fake Drandle Drange's voice the bast as he could.
"'I’ve selected your team for the delve.' my a**... you doome' us all you f***in' moron...
He starts to grumble.
"Hvis jeg dør her, vil jeg ikke hvile i det hele tatt, jeg kommer til deg Drandle og jeg vil drite ned i halsen din hverdag ... spøkelse dritt ..."
After he finished cursing, Ivaar restarted to draw the building, but an ocasional 'ghost s***' could be heard.
"I have a better idea... you could jus' tell us where to loo'... do not botter coming with us, I do not wan' to interrup' your class or your wor' Mr. Marlinchen, so you kids continue your class, you Mr continue your groundskeeping and we loo'... goo' righ'?"
Hoshiko Masaru Kodo |
Being an elf and raised as an easterner Hoshiko is taken aback by the surly dwarfs mannerisms...she moves to the other side of the party from him during the next travel...
Jhon Doe |
I also didn´t understand dwarven, but I couldn´t avoid to read it to continue laughing thanks to the dwarf comments
DM Snider |
With a smile on there face the reply " No we all go" Then they look over at the dwarf with an evil glair and stair as they walk out the door of the classroom. They lead you to a black pool of water with an occasional bubble coming from the middle. You easily spot a severed in the fully submerged in the water. The little girls point to the middle of the of the pool and in their glitchy ghost way"In there under the hand"
Lissa Meadowlark |
Lissa casts detect evil at the ominous pool of black water.
How big is this pool?
DM Snider |

Sorry i didnt proof it better lol this should clear it up.
Does not detect evil and it is decent size, about 25ft radius.
Ivaar, the Rolling Stone |
"Don't loo' at me! I bathed yesterday" He looks towards Hoshiko.
"Maybe the elf wanna take a dive, right? I bet it is clean and cool"
Buck Swashler |
What is this hell hole?! I'm with Ivaar on this one, I think a cabal of priests would have been my selection!
Buck does a double take as he sees a hand in the middle of the pool "W-Whose hand is that exactly?"
THISISTHEENDTHESEKIDSAREALLCANIBALSANDWEHAVEWALKEDRIGHTINTOTHEIRNEFARIOUSTR AP
Buck edges around the pool, putting some space between his precious, beautiful, intact, body and the horde of cannibalistic children.
"What exactly is under there? Why is the water black? Is it safe?"
HA what a farce, is it safe? OF COURSE IT ISN'T SAFE!
Perception for Anything in the Pool: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 Creatures, hazards, ways in/out, etc
Lissa Meadowlark |
"Jhon, do you mind investigating? I'll ask Trill to go with you and give you guidance. I'll even give you one of my potion sponges of touch of the sea."
Varuna Varghese |
Varuna stays far away from the edge of the pool.
"Wayangs don't like water. Too much uncertainty. Scout around for clues though."
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Where is this pool? Outside? Inside? What's around it?
-Posted with Wayfinder
Hoshiko Masaru Kodo |
Ignoring the dwarfs comments Hoshiko peers into the pool as the others did, shudders, steps back and says..."For once I agree with Varuna, I shall let those better prepared for the water take lead here." Hoshiko edges away from the pool, notices she is standing too close for comfort near their 'guide' and slowly moves a bit further away trying to draw as little attention as possible.
Jhon Doe |
Of course I´ll do. There´s nothing I´ll fear from that pool. Jhon poses as the great hero he want to be, to not let his body betray his real emotions.
Of course there´s something to fear in the pool, and in all the Drownyard. But I´ll be better in the water than surrounded by so many gohsts
He picks the sponge, Surely I´ll don´t need it, but I´ll keep it at hand just in case. Then he enters confidently, or so it appears, in the pool.
Trill, Lissa's Familiar |
Trill flutter over to Jhon's shoulder.
"We'll make sure nothing bad happens, promise!"
Buck Swashler |
"Jhon wait, I have these if you want them," Buck pulls little arm floaties from his pack, his face adopting a a crimson color, "I never learned how to swim, so I always keep my floaties with me, juse in case. You're more than welcome to borrow them."
Buck has a floatation device that provides a +1 circumstance bonus to swim checks
DM Snider |
When Jhon goes into the pool he sees that it is a little less than waist deep for him. As he inspects the hand he notices the hand is firmly grasping a handle and it is covered in a giant bulbus white eggs
Jhon Doe |
Well maybe if I use the handle, a door will open. That or the ghost will eat my soul.
Thanks Hoshiko. Now I can only think in being drowned in the pull by a ghost. Shouts Jhon, Throw me a rope and I tie myself
Once he´s tied and sure there´s no trace of panic in his face, Jhon uses the handle.
DM Snider |
When you try and pull on the lever mess with the eggs and you see mamma heading your way.
I am using the perception checks from earlier for everyone

apologies, the game did not show an update
Hoshiko stays in a defensive stance for a readied action if the creature is hostile to the group...the creature has not attacked anyone yet correct?
DM Snider |
That is correct noone in group has attacked yet

no map for this
as jhon is in the water by himself he attacked by a giant water bug

ok just to give you a picture. The water is about 50 wide all the way across and averages in knee high to waist deep. In the middle is where jhon and this bug are
Varuna Varghese |
Varuna will move as far as his 20ft speed will take him (which I assume does not bring him close enough.) If the monster happens to attack he will use a panache point for Parry & Riposte.
Hoshiko Masaru Kodo |
ah OK i was confused by the linked map. my bad
Hoshiko will still have the rope attached to Jhon in her hands.
Jhon Doe |
Jhon attacks the bug and tries to put some space between the bug and him moving towards his friends. 5 steep towards them if posible

Riposte: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 121d6 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
If Trill guide me, I want to spent the +1 in the parry
This bug looks real, you can come here to deal with it
Ivaar, the Rolling Stone |
Ivaar watches as the bug creature attacks Jhon and for a moment forgets all about his problems with the water. He draws his earthbreaker and walks towards the monster, waiting at the edge of the pool.
"Finally somethin' to smash to a pul'!... Hey sto' whinin', it is jus' a bug, right?"
Lissa Meadowlark |
"Oh goodness! What an icky creature."
Lissa moves into the water pulling out her glaive as she does so.
This seems like difficult terrain so I double move to stand 10ft from Jhon and the bug.
