Issak, I assume you mean the workroom, yes? If so....
As Issak checks the workroom over for anything of note, mostly what he sees are the dead bodies of workers and goblins, and broken glass. As you look at the human-sized glass "statue" you realize that it is certainly someone encased in glass. You can't tell for sure, but you think it looks like Lonjiku Kaijitsu, the owner and operator of the Glassworks, and Ameiko's father.
Norhalo finds nothing of interest on the goblin bodies.
Calathes Neverion |
Following along behin Issak, and sees Issak staring at the "statue".
"Is..is that a person in there? Th..that's just disturbing. Seems too devilish for goblins, but I don't see anything else around."
Norhalo |
On seeing everyone else looking at the statue, Norhalo does likewise.
Assuming that the body inside isn't obviously burned:
"Smash it open, quickly! If the body isn't burned beyond recognition, he must have had some magical protection against heat, or the glass wasn't hot when he was placed inside it--he may yet be smothering, but alive."
Jaxom Cambourne |
OK, I'll bite
Jaxom pulls his heavy mace from his belt, wheels it around, and smashes the glass 'sarcophagi'.
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Black Fang |
Thank you Jaxom. :D
With Jaxom's swing, the glass shatters, as well as the body inside bursting. Reflex save or be hit by the shattered glass and "body goo" from inside the glass. DC 10 is enough to avoid 1d4 damage from the glass. DC 15 avoids being hit by the "body goo". If hit by "body goo" Fort DC 10 negates sickened for 1 round.
Jaxom Cambourne |
Reflex save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Wiping 'residue' from his face, Jaxom makes a disgusted face.
"That was disgusting." He looks at Norhalo "Next time you break the glass while I stand safely off to the side"
Fortitude save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Black Fang |
I swear I'm not trying to kill Norhalo.
As the group is showered with glass and ichor, you all notice Norhalo get hit badly, and he drops to the ground. There's a particularly large piece of glass stuck in his neck.
Still waiting for Jedech's rolls against the exploding glass/corpse.
Jedech Crell |
Thank you Jaxom. :D

Jed shouts,"Oh, Desna's teats!" as Jaxom's strike causes the glass-encased body to explode. He dodges deftly to the side, avoiding the shards of glass and mass of bodily goo that spray outwards.

Seeing one of his new companions down and bleeding, Jed darts quickly to him and kneels. He jerks some bandages and a jar of some ill-smelling salve from his pack and attempts to administer first-aid.

He then hisses over at Calathes, "Hey, pard, gimme a hand here with the gypsy!"
Calathes Neverion |
Calathes moves over to try and bandage Norhalo's wounds.
Heal:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Damnit! It seems like it has been forever since the dice generator has given me anything in double digits....Between the dice generator and being out of spells maybe Calathes should just go put a crossbow bolt in his head.....nevermind he'd probably just miss anyway....*grumbles*

Since the idea of the exploding, glass encased corpse was just an idea I had on the fly, I'll allow the group to stabilize Norhalo with him at -4.
I only did it because I thought it'd add something a little "funny" and very gross to things. If anyone has issues with the ick-level of things, feel free to speak up and I'll tame things.
About a minute after Jaed ran off, he returns. "Had to run to the garrison, informed Hemlock. He'll be along, eventually." Seeing Norhalo on the floor, and the shattered/exploded glass statue/corpse, he kneels down next to the varisian and pours a sweet smelling potion down his throat. Norhalo now has 4 hit points.
The tengu stands, helps Norhalo to his feet, and says, "That's 50 you owe me," turns to Jaxom and continues, "and 50 from you as well."
Jaed Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Noticing the larger chunk of broken glass, Jaed moves over to it, carefully picking it up. He looks at what was the inside of it, then says, "I could be mistake, but I believe this is where the persons face was. Anyone able to make out who they used to be?"
Norhalo |
Norhalo gets shakily to his feet. "Thank you, friend Jaed; do not let me forget that." He looks down at the state of his clothing. "Do any of you know where I can find a tailor with a strong stomach?"
In response to Jaed's question, he'll look around for any sort of clay in the furnace room--something to take a mold off of the face piece, if the shape is intact.
Perception roll:

After seeing Norhalo back among the concious, Jed clouts him upon the shoulder and grins, "There now, there'll be no more layin' down on ter job fer you, gypsy!" The rough looking scout then turns his attention to the birdman's find and meanders over to where Jaed is holding the glass-encased visage. The woodsman pulls another chunk of tobacco from his vest pocket and shoves it into one now-bulging cheek as he attempts to recognize the unfortunate person who used to own the face.
Jaxom Cambourne |
Sword and shield at the ready, Jaxom will proceed, quietly, down the stairs.
Stealth check: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (1) - 3 = -2
Well, as quietly as a man in scale mail can be
Jedech Crell |
Issak cringes as the impact of Jaxom's shield rings through the building. "So much for any element of surprise. Let's get down there!" Glaive readied, he follows close behind Jaxom.
Jed follows the young guardsman down the stairs, his beloved Bessie loaded and ready for bugbear!
Black Fang |
Jedech Crell |
Norhalo follows as well, trying to stay close to Jed. In a low whisper, "Friend Jedech, if given the chance I can enhance your weapon for a short time--it will not help your accuracy, but a bolt will do more damage."
Jed nods and grunts to show that he's favorably inclined towards Norhalo's offer. He creeps forward behind Jaxom, ready to deal with more goblins ... or, even better, whose controlling them.

Seeing Jaxom give him the appropriate 'you, eyes-scout, forward' silent battle singles, Jed quietly sneaks down the western hallway, scouting it out for the group.

Sorry for the lack of posting, my home PC went down. Spent most of the time trying to troubleshoot only to discover it was the router not the tower. New router and I'm GTG.
Not being the most stealthy of individuals, as evidenced by his attempt to sneak down the stairwell, Jaxom looks to someone else to take the lead in exploring the room.
Jedech Crell |
Norhalo murmurs quietly, "Jaxom, I suggest that you take a quick look south down the western hall, and if there isn't anything obvious there we go east and south. False walls suggest something worth concealing."
Jed creeps back to the group from the western hallway. He grunts to Jaxom and the rest, "Looks ter be nuthin' but supplies the gobbies have busted up. No signs o' life, be they friendly er otherwise. Want me ter be checkin' out tis other way?" Jed gestures towards the hallway to the east that shows evidence of a false wall that's been recently smashed.
Jedech Crell |
Router problems...I hate it when that happens.
In response to Jed, Norhalo nods, bows slightly, and points at the false wall in a theatrical manner.
Raising the nose of the still-loaded Bessie, Jed glides down the eastern hallway as silently as he can, carefully approaching the rubble of the wrecked false wall. He crouches low, poking his nose around the corner, trying to spy if any threats lie along the route to the south.

Once again, Jedech moves down a dark hallway, this one strewn with rubble. Again, he notices nothing active down here.
Jed returns to the group and grunts, "Nuthin' livin' in sight down tere. Are two duers ter teh left along ter hallway, 'bout twenty feet from ter start." Jed then waits for one of the heavy infantry to take the lead.
Jedech Crell |
In a low voice, Norhalo says, "A moment, my friends. Let us all be as quiet as we can and not move," he glances sidelong at Jaxom before continuing, "and let our talented scouts listen as best they can before we continue."
