Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18

Male Human (Romandan) Warrior 4

Glad someone had a good perception check

Is there anything the party wants to do before camping? If not, I'll check to see if anything happens in the night.

Erian repeats his actions from the previous night, but looks to bed down in the center of the group since he probably can't take much more damage. Anybody up for healing him before resting?

Male Dwarf Cleric* 1/Fighter1

Angus casts cure light wounds on Erian (and anyone else who needs it) before praying for his spells for tomorrow

Erian's cure light wounds 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

The night of 12 Pharast goes by uneventfully, without even a harmless rabbit passing by the camp.

13 Pharast, 4710
The rest of the party awakens to a light drizzle. Ride on south?

Female Aasimar Paladin/Inquisitor

No complaints here.

Male Half (Dark)Elf Rogue/Fighter (3)

"South it is." mutters Polson, pulling his cloak up to keep out the drizzle.

Perception checks.

Shortly after breaking camp, Ilya stops riding and turns Uli to face northwest of the party's location.

Take it away Ilya.
Tanner has decided Ilya and Uli wouldn't really fit the Kingmaker AP and asked to change character, I agreed. You'll find his new character eventually.

Ilya wakes with a start from his sleep. "Light of the Sword!" He looks about startled, as though he did not expect to be where he currently is. "I have dreamed a dream. A vision! Iomedae has called me to join my brothers to fight against the Worldwound."

Ilya thanks his comrades for their company in this quest. He is saddened to leave them, but his deity has called to him. He and Uli ride north, into the horizon.

Sorry for the sudden departure, guys. I wrote up the character without thinking of how he would fit into the Kingmaker AP. Much of his usefulness to the party is dependent on his mount, which will be useless for a good portion of the action. I have a new character ready and waiting. You should encounter him fairly soon. :)

After the shock of Ilya's sudden departure, the party continues to ride south, eventually spotting an old sycamore tree standing alone on a hilltop.

It's still miles away, but you can tell the tree is at least 100 feet tall, and nearing its last years of life.

Perception checks.

Constance, Gaelen, and Polson:

Spoiler:
You notice something moving at the base of the tree. You think it may be a single mite.

Male Half (Dark)Elf Rogue/Fighter (3)

Polson draws his bow and whispers "It could be a trap...stay alert."

Female Aasimar Paladin/Inquisitor

"There, under the tree... check the area for more." Constance will then look around making sure there are not other threats as they approach.

"If it's alone, let's try to take it as a prisoner."

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

Male Human (Romandan) Warrior 4

I will use Constance perception checks. She is like a human radar

Male Half (Dark)Elf Rogue/Fighter (3)

"Prisoner?" sneers Polson!

Male Half (Dark)Elf Rogue/Fighter (3)

anybody still about?

Polson Lacey wrote:

My laptop has been hijacked so the files I had for the game are currently unavailable, so I'll be reworking things.

Male Human (Romandan) Warrior 4

"Well my hearing must be really bad di I hear Poison him Polson?" winks at Polson with a big wicked smile "Well I'll Piss'n him or something like that I heard, so I'll havet to kill it to do it"

Female Aasimar Paladin/Inquisitor

Constance is still here, I was out of internet for a few days, but I'm still around FYI.

Male Dwarf Cleric* 1/Fighter1

Just checking in. Waiting for things to get going again.

Human Psychomancer

I'm still lurking about. My new character is gathering dust. :(

Male Human (Romandan) Warrior 4

Well we are getting very old and so many days alone in the middle of nowere and only Constance and Tam mmm.... hahahahaha. Just checking in and to say I'm still around

Sorry about the long wait, it took me longer to get things sorted out and rebuilt.

The party rides on towards the Old Sycamore while talking a little about Ilya's sudden departure.

Any preparations folks want to make before reaching the tree?

Human Psychomancer

My PC continues doing what he has been doing. ;)

Male Half-Elf Bard 1

Erian considers their opponents at the tree, then offers up an idea. "I could possibly hold their attention for a while in order to let everyone get in as close as possible. That might help ensure they don't raise an alarm to bring more of the buggers out."

Erian could use Fascinate for up to 6 rounds once he gets within 90' of the target. It'll give them a -4 on Perception checks to see anyone else sneaking up, which might be good considering some of our group aren't too sneaky...

Female Aasimar Paladin/Inquisitor

Assuming I saw no other mites after expressly looking, I would catiously approach the single mite, with the rest of the group, hoping to capture it or kill it if capturing is not an option.

Try as you may, there are no mites to be seen at the moment.

Male Half (Dark)Elf Rogue/Fighter (3)

Polson scans the area looking for what he thought was a Mite creeping about.

*Raises hand* Still about an' watchin' in fer when I be needed. :) Sorry t' be sayin' my internet connection has been scuttled as well, so I'm adrift most of th' time as t' whut does be hapenin', but I swear t' be doin' me best t' keep abreast o' things. *Bows* The tall, brown skinned Elf rests up at Olegs. Passing the time with songs and tales of her travels. She saves some of her more bawdy tales (Such as the story of the Mermaids tricking of a Sailor into helping her with her 'barnecles') for the the more 'folksey' customers and visitors to Olegs outpost.

As the party is watching for mites on and around the massive sycamore tree, Gaelen notices there's only about an hour before sunset.

There still has been no visible movement, with the exception of a raven that landed on a branch, looked around and then flew south.

Male Human (Romandan) Warrior 4

"So what are we going to do camp or go in with the mites?"

Male Half (Dark)Elf Rogue/Fighter (3)

"If we camp I suggest it's well away from that tree. I see no problem in fighting at night though!" says Polson with a wink.

Khthonos

Spoiler:
I'm going to try and jumpstart things a little to get the game rolling again, at least somewhat. You have 1 hit point at the moment and no idea where your gear is. After another session of the mites randomly beating on yourself and the last surviving black scaled kobold, you awaken and manage to slip free of the crude ropes holding you against the cave wall.

What do you do?

Male Dwarf Cleric* 1/Fighter1

"I say we camp. Or at least pretend to camp...Draw the little vermin out...or...we could just set fire to the tree" chuckles Angus as his left hand erupts in flames.

DM:
Slipping off his fetters, Khthonos slips quietly through the twisting tunnels of the mite den. He is searching for his equipment. He knows they will probably keep it in a chest nearby.

Stealth check 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25

If he happens upon a mite that he cannot sneak past, he will use his blur spell-like ability, then swiftly attack in silence to attempt to disable the foe.

Attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23, 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5, 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Sneak Attack Damage (if Stealth is successful) 1d6 ⇒ 5, 1d6 ⇒ 5

Khthonos:

Spoiler:
Instead of attempting to cross the small chasm to the east of the chamber you're in, where you hear voices, you instead climb up the wall and go through a hole in the ceiling, and manage to get the drop on two mites. Just barely, you manage to drop with before they could alert the rest to your escape. You then head east up a small passage to find another hole heading up. You climb up this hole and find a concealed door. You open it and see the setting sun to the west.

Everyone else: As the party is watch, waiting, Angus and Gaelen hear what sounds like a wooden gate opening and then closing, but you don't see anything yet.

Male Half (Dark)Elf Rogue/Fighter (3)

Polson sits down and begins to sort stuff in his pack, scanning ever vigilant for mites.

Male Human (Romandan) Warrior 4

Caelin sharpenshis blade carefully at campsite while on guard duty or he will sleep the rest of the time.
