Oh hey, this is a thing. Really need a more prominent notice when one has a PM on this site, as it is a bit of a crap shoot if I scroll to the top of the page and notice it or not...

Here's what I posted in the other thread before I saw this:

Alright guys, I'm thinking one of three general concepts:

Burly, traditional Viking warrior. Probably human, tech/nature neutral, probably a fighter with the viking archetype if Jaye is okay with me just dropping the berserker ability so the rage virus thing isn't an issue. (I like the intimidate and shield focus abilities though).

Mysterious runecaster. Oracle or witch most likely, maybe wizard or druid if I come up with an idea that fits one of those better. Not sure about race, default to human if nothing else springs to mind.

Grim bountyhunter. Probably ashen elf or aryandai. If the former, I'm a bit torn between magus, gunslinger, or maybe a gun-wielding inquisitor. If the latter, probably slayer.

Obviously I'm not attached to any concept yet, and would like to get an idea of what you guys were thinking before settling on anything.

Male Workaholic, level 10

Hey there all!

I have not had much of a chance to review too much - working today, so Sunday will be when I sit down and hash out concepts. I mentioned in an email that I would be looking at:

Cleric class - my initial thought is a servitor of the old gods. Not necessarily looking at the goblin race, but the gun-priest dwarves are kind of interesting. Never played a gunslinger class in Pathfinder, so it would be a new thing for me.

Sorcerer class - human from the city-states. How does bloodlines play into this is what I would need to know; or is it just standard?

Those are my initial thoughts, but I need to delve further into it.

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 49/49 - AC20;FF17;T18 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

No clue what I will look at. It is going to take some time to figure out the races and class variations.

Jaye - if you can open the campaign tab, then we can all dot it so that it shows up our campaigns. Makes it much easier to check to see if people have posted.

I rather like arcane casters, but can play a more skilled character or melee if necessary.

Alex - The Dwarven Gun Priest would be a cool PC to explore.

Tirion - Take your time.

Asmo - A traditional viking warrior would work wonderfully.

Once you guys start hashing out characters (you guys get first pick), I'll open the game to two additional players. I may run recruitment, but I'll probably talk so some folks in my other groups (on Facebook and the such) first.

Oh, and like last time, I'd like characters to follow this format. The only thing you'll need to add is a place for "honor."

Dark Archive

Okay, here is a preliminary for my first concept (Note: made a couple assumptions here. First, that Hero Points are being used. Second, that the anti-hero rule (trade ability to ever have Hero Points for an extra feat at first level) is being used. Third, 20 points for stats. Fourth, don't know what you want to do for starting wealth, so just gave him what "seemed appropriate" for the sample build.)

Motivations:

Personal Motivations Since the death of my father I can no longer face my family. I am adrift, wandering and selling my expertise at killing because I have nowhere else to go, no idea what else to do. I would like to find peace in this world, but I doubt such peace exists.

Interpersonal Group Motivations One axe is good. Two are better. And it takes a full crew to sail a longboat. I will take whatever contract comes around, and fight alongside those who fight for the same cause. It will take more than a contract to win my loyalty, but should I find such a thing as friendship I shall not treat it lightly.

Campaign Motivations I am already damned as a kinslayer for killing my own father. The fact that it was kill or be killed makes no difference to me, nor to my half-brother, who has vowed to avenge his father by killing me. I will train, fight, earn honor, glory, and gold... and one day I will kill my own blood once more. Kormak Twice-Damned has a ring to it.

All the Rest:
It's late, and I'm tired, so I'll save the rest for if this does indeed end up the character I play. Barebones background: Kormak has gigantism, was over six feet tall by the age of 11 (now 7'4" and over 400 lbs, size of Andre the Giant), was trained as a mercenary warrior and sailor by his father, Yngvar. One day father tried to kill him (haven't decided why yet, or even if Kormak knows why, happy to take suggestions), but Kormak won that fight. Another of Yngvar's sons, Kormak's half-brother, has sworn vengeance (Nemesis feat).

Looks good Asmo. We won't be using "Hero Points, however. Instead, we'll be using my variant - Wyrd Points (which do something similar). So just change that from Hero to Wyrd. I'm going to assume your hero is from either far out east (from the raiding colonies of Eastern Val) or from the lands west of the City-States (the Old Holds).

Dark Archive

Okay, this will be the THIRD time I have tried to post this. -_-

You would know the world and narrative better than I, so any suggestions you have about his origins are fine with me. Just pick whichever makes more sense, and let me know if any bits of background need to be tweaked.

As for Hero Points, Weird Points, whatever they're called, the question is if you allow the anti-hero option or not. If not, no worries, I'll just lose Iron Will (for now).

Dark Archive

Owner of Storm Bunny Studios, LLC

I'm fine with the anti-hero option.

I'm still here. Waiting on the rest of you.

I know I've been quiet folks, but this is why!

Is it safe to assume no one is interested in this?

Female Human (Varisian(Ustalav)) Druid(Menhir Savant)/4 - Monk/1 HP: 33/36; AC16, T15, FF15; F+7,R+5,W+11; Per +13; Init +3

Sorry for the silence. I am actually really interested, I just need the time to sit down and read through the stuff. One child went to summer camp this weekend and the other goes for two weeks starting in two weeks. Hopefully this will give me more time.

The positive side of this is that I have more real work. Unfortunately, this has meant less time to read through and learn an entirely new system. I really want to try out Rhune and put a character together, it is just taking more time than I thought.

Just as an FYI, this is not the only campaign I have having this issue with. I had a character die in another campaign and have been unable to figure out what to replace him with, and that has been two weeks and is entirely in Golarian where I already know the land, classes and races.

If you still want to DM us, I should be able to get into this over then next few nights - finger's crossed.

Dark Archive

I check this discussion daily, and am statting out at least two other potential characters, so I think it safe to say that I am interested. :D Congrats on the successful Kickstarter, by the way!

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 49/49 - AC20;FF17;T18 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

Yeh, definitely congrats on the Kickstarter. Way to go.

Glad to hear folks are still interested! The Kickstarter is far from over, but it does, indeed, look like it's going to be a success! I'm very excited!

Knock Knock.

Dark Archive

Who's there?

Dark Archive

Well, apparently none of us. lol

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 49/49 - AC20;FF17;T18 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

Sorry for my slow pace. I am really interested in your world, but just have not had the time to read and ingest it. Which is also a reason that the only game I play is PF, because I do not have the time, or energy, to learn another one even though it would probably be really cool.

If you all want to start without me, I can work on getting something together and join you later. I really have enjoyed playing with this group, but just have be getting run down with RL and my other games and this one unfortunately, because of the amount of reading necessary, has ended up being the one that has gotten pushed to the back burner.

Jaye, I love your DMing style, and want this to work, I just need to get my act together which is being tough to do right now.

Sorry, that I have been holding things up.

Tirion/Alexa

Dark Archive

That was a horrible joke. :P

Dark Archive

Owner of Storm Bunny Studios, LLC

Yeah, I suppose it was a bad joke.

Of course, as the King of Bad Jokes, it is my royal duty to make them.

As for getting things underway, I'm as guilty as the rest of you. I've been running my Kickstarter this month and I've been swamped with that. It ends in five days, however, at which point I'm going to be shifting to Con/School mode. I'll be at Gen Con this August, so maybe it'll be best if we start after that's over, toward the end of the month. That's give everyone time to make characters, read through the material, and so on.

And if folks aren't game at the point, we can just call it quits, with no hard feelings on my end.

Thoughts?

Cheers,
Jaye

Dark Archive

Now can I say congratulations on a successful Kickstarter? :D

Dark Archive

Owner of Storm Bunny Studios, LLC

Asmo - thanks!

All - I'm headed off to Gen Con early next week, so I wont' be checking the board until I return on the 18th of August. You are informed!

Cheers,
Jaye

Hey - congrats Jaye. Have a great time at GenCon. Crossing my fingers, I should be able to get there for the first time next year.

Dark Archive

Hope you're having a blast at Gen Con! Found another PbP I'm trying out for, but, Asmodeus willing, this one will take off in a couple months as well and I'll have twice the RP goodness! :D

Dark Archive

Owner of Storm Bunny Studios, LLC

Well guys, it's been a wild few weeks. I'm back from Gen Con, back in school, and actively writing - because someone has to finish this book. As you might imagine, I'm pretty swamped. So, the good news is that life is getting back to normal. The bad news is I probably won't have time to run this (or any) PbPs.

Since not a lot of folks are beating down my proverbial inbox, I'm guessing everyone else is equally busy, too.

So, in a few days, I'll just end this campaign and wish each of you well. It's been fun, I'm sorry it didn't work out, and I hope each of you stay in touch.

Be well,
Jaye

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 49/49 - AC20;FF17;T18 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

Sounds like you have your hands full. I really enjoyed the Carrion Crown and wish that I had the time to read through your campaign materials to create a Rhune character. If you should want to ran another pbp at some point, give me a shout. Also, if you are at a Con in the northeast (the real northeast, not those southern states like NY, PA and NJ), give me a shout.

Good luck with your writing and I hope that Rhune lives up to your goals.

Thanks Tirion!

Dark Archive

It has been a pleasure gaming with you, Jaye. Thank you for a couple of fun years. Should you decide to start up another PbP when things calm down, please drop me a line. Happy gaming!
