*furiously reads the backlogs* There was totally a muted bird just outside the ship. Cap'n and Jamee are dead.

Why no Sona, I've never heard of Chekov, or his gun. Why do you ask?

Female Human

Besides, who says it's still near the ship. :)

Gynoid Technician Lvl:6.05 HP:23/23 A:0 Dmg:d6 | Stock +0 ~ INT+3 ~ STR+2 ~ CON+1 ~ WIS+0 ~ CHA+0 ~ DEX-1

It's probably inside the ship now. Next to Buckaneero's liver. Inside a distortion beast.

Rotgut, Omega, Ilztzaer, and Kray, just throwing out a "we miss you" and you are welcome to jump back in at any time.

As for the current dynamic, is everyone happy with 4 core PCs? I could advertise for another.

Android Engine of Destruction | Lvl 6 | XP: 10 | HP: 14/27 | Armor 4 | 1d10 | STR +3 | DEX +1 | CON +2 | INT 0 | WIS 0 | CHA -1 | Blood: 4

I'm sure we'll keep gradually gaining and losing people over time. This campaign does seem remarkably robust, so I think the current lineup is fine.

Gynoid Technician Lvl:6.05 HP:23/23 A:0 Dmg:d6 | Stock +0 ~ INT+3 ~ STR+2 ~ CON+1 ~ WIS+0 ~ CHA+0 ~ DEX-1

4-6 is a good range. Certainly better than 13.

Things have settled into a descent rhythm in my opinion.

Female Human

I'm fine with four.
I'm fine with more.

If you want, I can cast a net in my games to see if anyone is interested.

Lucky Sixes: 12/12 HP | Useful Links: Quick Reference | Sheets

I'm not going to be particularly active today. I have a lot to do at work.

However, if you all would like to give me a nice birthday present, answer the following question:

These shadowcats are dangerous, sure, but they find themselves as prey as often as predator. What is the apex predator on this planet like?

Female Human

Really weird version: It's the planet itself. The dirt and rock covering it are just the materials coating its shell. In the deepest oceans where massive predators live, you can find its maw, and it will occasionally snack on a leviathan that gets too close. Its not a traditional biological organism either, but rather an intelligent quantum singularity.

Not so weird version: Godzilla?

Gynoid Technician Lvl:6.05 HP:23/23 A:0 Dmg:d6 | Stock +0 ~ INT+3 ~ STR+2 ~ CON+1 ~ WIS+0 ~ CHA+0 ~ DEX-1

The creatures of this planet have been locked in an arms race for millennia, much like any other life-sustaining planet. Plant life is horrifically poisonous, which has driven much of the fauna to carnivorous extremes.

There are scarab-like herbivores which are one of the few creatures that can metabolize the poisons. They do this by literally coming back to life after having died from the poisons. This is why the shadowcats are so keen on living meat.

One other creature has made its survival by dominating the lethality race, which is what has driven the shadowcats to extremes of camouflage. The skyrakers are a vicious combination of falcon and wolf. Peerless observers that operate in coordinated flocks. They even have an extreme case of sexual dimorphism which leads to each pack member fulfilling a highly specialized role in the hunt.

Spout Lore: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (4, 6) + 3 = 13

Lucky Sixes: 12/12 HP | Useful Links: Quick Reference | Sheets

Nedora, you can just resummon Sparx whenever you want, correct? I didn't mean to kill him/her off.

Female Human

Yep, that was the plan. Though I think Sparx is still around. I just can't control her.

Lucky Sixes: 12/12 HP | Useful Links: Quick Reference | Sheets

That is what I was trying to get at when I described her energy now flowing through you.

Female Human

Ah, so they don't stick around. Gotcha.

Lucky Sixes: 12/12 HP | Useful Links: Quick Reference | Sheets

Well that is up to you Nedora. How do your golems work?

Gynoid Technician Lvl:6.05 HP:23/23 A:0 Dmg:d6 | Stock +0 ~ INT+3 ~ STR+2 ~ CON+1 ~ WIS+0 ~ CHA+0 ~ DEX-1

If that had been another 6, Sona would have developed a prejudice against T.E.R.R.A. equipment.

Lucky Sixes: 12/12 HP | Useful Links: Quick Reference | Sheets

Roll20 updated. Sorry about falling behind.

Female Human

no prob, it happens.

Female Human

Re: Golems
I think I'll go with fading after all the control is spent.

Android Engine of Destruction | Lvl 6 | XP: 10 | HP: 14/27 | Armor 4 | 1d10 | STR +3 | DEX +1 | CON +2 | INT 0 | WIS 0 | CHA -1 | Blood: 4

Just to avoid interrupting the action, can I get some stats for the retrothrusters Sona gave me a while back? Almost forgot about them

Lucky Sixes: 12/12 HP | Useful Links: Quick Reference | Sheets

Sure, remind me though, these are the thrusters that help you navigate in space towards enemy ships?

Android Engine of Destruction | Lvl 6 | XP: 10 | HP: 14/27 | Armor 4 | 1d10 | STR +3 | DEX +1 | CON +2 | INT 0 | WIS 0 | CHA -1 | Blood: 4

More for small course adjustments. The original impetus has to come from the torpedo launcher, and it's only useful if it's used early. Any evasive maneuvers will be enough to dodge it, but aiming mistakes can be rectified if they are noticed quickly.

Lucky Sixes: 12/12 HP | Useful Links: Quick Reference | Sheets

In that case I'm not really sure that it has "stats" (other than 1 weight) so much as it is just a part of the fiction. If you "launch and begin making course corrections as the target attempts to evade" it is much more difficult for the GM to say with a straight face that the target evades you. Does that make sense? I'm pretty exhausted today so I may be speaking gibberish.

It is basically the same idea as how BoT's jetpack works.

[Sheets] [Map]

I intend for Sona to move a bit like Robocop: slow, deliberate, and slightly clumsy, but I can't stop picturing Winnie the Pooh.

Oh bother.

Female Human

Hey, sorry for dropping off the air like I did. I didn't mean to, it just kinda happened. This past week and weekend have been busy for me, and I"ve hit the point where I need to take a step back for a little while, clear my head, and recharge. I'll try not to be gone long, and I understand if you don't want to hold a spot open for me, but I do plan on coming back in a few weeks.

-Adam

Lucky Sixes: 12/12 HP | Useful Links: Quick Reference | Sheets

There will be room for you here as long as we keep this running. I look forward to your triumphant return.

Since we are not full by any means, I was thinking of recruiting on the DW subreddit. Thoughts? I'm also fine with 3.

I feel like four might be more in line, if Adam is going to be gone for this amount of time, and that five will also be fine when they get back.

Agreed! Plenty of narrative space for another to join the crew.

Lucky Sixes: 12/12 HP | Useful Links: Quick Reference | Sheets

Sorry I've been down with the flu all weekend.

Hope you're feeling better!

Lucky Sixes: 12/12 HP | Useful Links: Quick Reference | Sheets

I'm healthy again and ready to continue when you are. Also, if anyone would like to put out recruitment posts, feel free.

Also, now might be a good time for another round of feedback. What is working? What isn't? I want to make this as fun as possible, but I'll admit I'm still learning as we go.

I'm personally really enjoying the campaign, and rescuing these miners. I'm even more excited because this whole excursion is basically a detour on the way to the real adventure, which will be to take down TERRA.

Lucky Sixes: 12/12 HP | Useful Links: Quick Reference | Sheets

I want to apologize that I haven't been on point this week with updates. By way of explanation but not excuse, today is my last day of work before paternity leave (yikes!) so I've been killing myself to get everything caught up for the transfer to my co-workers.

Please don't mistake my lack of recent updates with a waning interest in this campaign.

We're all good! Best of luck with your newest spawn!

Gynoid Technician Lvl:6.05 HP:23/23 A:0 Dmg:d6 | Stock +0 ~ INT+3 ~ STR+2 ~ CON+1 ~ WIS+0 ~ CHA+0 ~ DEX-1

Not a problem at all.

Lucky Sixes: 12/12 HP | Useful Links: Quick Reference | Sheets

I'm a man of a million excuses but my daughter was born yesterday and we are still at the hospital. Stick with me folks!

Dude, focus on your newborn! It's a huge time sink, we all get that. We'll still be here chillin' when you have the time to make a post. Cheers and congratulations on the baby!

I want a picture!

Gynoid Technician Lvl:6.05 HP:23/23 A:0 Dmg:d6 | Stock +0 ~ INT+3 ~ STR+2 ~ CON+1 ~ WIS+0 ~ CHA+0 ~ DEX-1

Yeah, you're cool. No rush. I've got midterms coming up anyway.

Female Human

Congrats! Tell your little girl I said hello.

Unfortunately, I'm also here to bear a little bad news. I've been thinking it over and I've decided that I'm not going to be coming back to all of the games I was in after all. This game, unfortunately, is one of the ones I am dropping.

I appreciate you giving me the chance to play with you guys, and I wish you the best of luck both here in the game and in real life.

Lucky Sixes: 12/12 HP | Useful Links: Quick Reference | Sheets

Ah that's a bummer. I enjoyed the interaction with Bathilda. Best of luck man.

Female Human

Thanks, and the same to you. I forgot to ask, but can you please mark me as inactive?

Lucky Sixes: 12/12 HP | Useful Links: Quick Reference | Sheets

Hmm, I don't see an option to do that. Moosh, do you know how to set a character as inactive?

Male Probably human Computer Scientist 1/ Character Synthesizer 20/ Crazy 99

If you look in the campaign tab, you'll see the edit button. Click that and scroll down. You should see a couple of sections that list the players and the characters. Just uncheck the box in the active column and click save.

Saw a familiar face on Reddit today! Check it out, Toober's full body!

I dunno if the rest of you had already seen it, but I hadn't.

Not enough claws. Or chainswords. Still, good effort XD

Lucky Sixes: 12/12 HP | Useful Links: Quick Reference | Sheets

I'll say! Those were reskins of the Knight from the SRD. Crick has 3 hp left and 3 armor. If you'd rolled a 4 on that last dam roll he would have dropped. Your flamethrower roll would have one shot Tick. And that is with half armor and the weak disability at half life. Beast mode!

Lucky Sixes: 12/12 HP | Useful Links: Quick Reference | Sheets

I've started a new recruitment thread here. Feel free to post about your experience with the campaign so far.

Gynoid Technician Lvl:6.05 HP:23/23 A:0 Dmg:d6 | Stock +0 ~ INT+3 ~ STR+2 ~ CON+1 ~ WIS+0 ~ CHA+0 ~ DEX-1

Grellick: Let's just put everything back where it was and pretend this didn't happen.
Grellick's ship: passes by one of those impossible space windows as it explodes

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Bucanero should propose a partnership with Grellik, rather than us being a group of peons. And either way, we should place three nukes on their ship labelled, 1, 2, and 4.
