Too bad you didn't cast glitterdust, that would have succeeded with the +1 from spell focus.

Since Berosius actually goes after Harrow in initiative order, and he always has a life-link with the big lug, I'm happy to say that it was already in place before the start of combat. You guys have always done it that way since your characters were level 1.
I appreciate that, but I thought I had it up because of this quote on the 15th:
Berosius immediately establishes Life Link with Berosius, Avril and Uthred.
That's why his last turn was hustling forward to keep them in range. But I guess that has been awhile since he created the links.

Berosius casts sanctuary on himself and continues to hustle forward.

Shoot! I forgot the pyrohydra's fast healing. Sorry 'bout that. Harrow's previous knowledge check would have been sufficient to know that either cold or acid damage is needed to stifle the fast healing.
The pyrohydra's wounds close a bit. Then, it takes a 5-foot-step forward and attacks the creature that brought down its snake companion.

Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20, miss
Avril takes 8 HP of damage as one of the heads takes a bit out of her shoulder.
Thanks for the update on ride-by. You can remove the cobra's damage.

Uthred is up!

SIX attacks! And then six breath weapons. Oh sheeee-it!

"Whoah there!" Avril says as she dodges away from and dodges most of the hydra attacks. Only a single one of them manage to bite her where her armor doesn't protect her.
"Damn it's too close to charge like this." She laments as she stabs out at the creature while Cryxial takes a step closer to tear into it. "We gotta take it down quickly, before it can breathe more fire!"

Avril and Cryxial bravely attack and do quite a bit of damage. Thankfully, they are able to attack with reach.
Uthred, too, moves in and damages the beast. But he also gets hurt moving through its reach.

Harrow, Mareq, and Berosius are up!
The hydra is looking very bad; finish him!

![]() |

Harrow moans, flat on his back and bloodied, as Berosius's life link keeps him alive.
By my count, I was at -10, then received 5 hp from Berosius, leaving me at -5 still.

![]() |

Avril should be 1E, Cryxial doesn't have reach, but he did five foot closer to avoid AoO.

![]() |

GM, I need to know if Berosius has Life Link only with Harrow or with Harrow, Avril and Uthred.

![]() |

Sorry for being slow/on mobile a lot, but Avril will block your path to Harrow, so that's not really an option. You did start it earlier, so I don't think there is a reason it should have ended. Avril has taken 8 btw, which would transfer 5 due to lifelink this round. Edit: I guess there is space south of where the map actually is, so you could move up after all. That solves the problem of where Harrow will end up if he gets conscious as well.
"Stay back Berosius, you don't want to get caught in the flames if it breathes again!" Avril warns the little halfling.

Husarq |

Husarq swings, screaming obscenities in Ignan as he does so, drawing the vermin's attention.
Power Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 12 + 1 = 18 Slashing dmg: 2d6 + 16 + 1 ⇒ (1, 1) + 16 + 1 = 19 Bleed: 1d6 ⇒ 4

![]() |

Berosius, it's your standard M.O. to life link the party. You can have put it up well before combat started. I'm fine with you having it on whomever you choose.
Husarq swings with the fury of his remembered past and the hydra falls unconscious.
Knowing, however, that this thing will eventually regenerate/fast heal what would the party like to do?

![]() |

IN HEALING NEWS: Everyone gains 10 hp from Berosius's channeling. In addition, Harrow, Avril and Uthred gain a further 5 points from the Life Link.
Berosius loses 15 hp to Life Link, but regains them all through the Channel plus Fey Foundling.
"My goodness," says Berosius. "A monster like that could hurt a lot of people. Can it be destroyed?"

![]() |

"Will fire kill it...? I mean like a lot of fire?" Uthred yells out as he prepares to swing again should the creature stir...

![]() |

"Maybe it'll die if we stab it hard enough?" Avril says as she spears the beast straight through. Meanwhile Cryxial attempts to tear it apart with his jaws.
coup de grace: 3d8 + 18 ⇒ (6, 4, 7) + 18 = 35
CDG Cryxial: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (3, 1) + 12 = 16
Avril had only taken 8 damage. Not sure if the order of things, but if you can channel first, you won't have to lose hp for Avril.

As Harrow comes to, he once again thanks his best 'half-ling' brother for saving his life.
After a minute, he retrieves a vial of acid from his bandolier and throws it on the hydra carnage.
"Harrow maybe think twice before running into creature with so many heads next time..."

Husarq |

Husarq continues striking it until it is dismembered.
Definitely bring it to Dead, not just Unconscious. That kills it.

![]() |

Just for LOLs...
Traumatized by the danger posed by the pyrohydra, the party feverishly hacks at the creature's body for several minutes until it has been atomized. Then Harrow sprinkles acid on the remains.
Not part of the scenario... Just for LOLs...
Another pyrohydra had been readying to join the fray. it was just about to roar a challenge when the party started curb stomping the first hydra. Made queasy by the ferocity of the party, the second pyrohydra merely slinks off whilst the pathfinders are distracted.
Combat over!

![]() |

Heal up. Prep as you wish. But not overnight.
Whenever the party is ready, they press forward. Their path leads them to ancient ruins. The relentless crashing of metal on stone echoing from somewhere further ahead is plainly audible.
The ruins are constructed from enormous blocks of crumbling white granite. It is obvious that they were built to accommodate large-sized creatures.
All doors are 15 feet high and made of reinforced stone; they'll be a challenge simply to open!

Harrow, Avril and Uthred are healing at a rate of 5hp per round. Once that's done, Berosius will heal any other injured party members with Life Link and cure himself back up with his wand. -Then- reestablish Life Link with Harrow, Avril and Uthred. Can I please get a count of who still needs healing and how much? I only know that Harrow needs another 38 points.

![]() |

Everyone else got healed to full by your channeling. Why not use your low level slots instead of the wand though? You got more of those than you know what to do with, right?

![]() |

i think Harrow took all of the damage for Uthred anyway so Uthred should be good to go.

![]() |

Everyone else got healed to full by your channeling. Why not use your low level slots instead of the wand though? You got more of those than you know what to do with, right?
Because I like having spell slots free for shield of faith and liberating command.

![]() |

Harrow pats his best friend on the head (a bit too hard) and thanks him for the heals. He waves at the second Hydra as it leaves, then hefts his nodachi to his shoulder.
"Harrow ready," he says.

![]() |

Berosius grits his teeth as Harrow pats his head, but accepts the gesture for what it is. Harrow saves his life as often as he saves Harrow's.
Berosius puts away his wand of cure light wounds and draws a vial of holy water.
"Yup," he says. "I'm ready."

Here's a map of the ruins.
This room’s high walls are made of enormous blocks of crumbling, mossy granite, but its roof is entirely absent, leaving it open to the sky. Folding tables and makeshift scaffolds have been set up around the room, and the walls have been carefully cleaned and labeled, revealing a mosaic depicting sway-backed, one-eyed astronomers at the base of a tall tower. An opening leads to the east, below a high balcony topped with a huge ivory sphere. Doors leading north into the hill have been smashed open to reveal a wide hall.
There are six humans diligently at work here. It looks like they are working to clear and catalog the site. One of them matches Juliet Dias' description.

![]() |

Harrow nods. "They send us all the way here to find you, and you fine!? Next time maybe send message you okay, right!" the half-orc says, irritation in his voice.

![]() |

"I wonder why they didn't tell anyone about what happened. Something seems a bit off here." Avril says as she warily rides in, lance in hand.

![]() |

Not one for being subtle Uthred yells out at the workers....
"Hey you! Hey! We are here to see you back to safety.... Are you all daft...? Do you know what that noise is?" and he walks a little closer looking around as well...

Mareq buffs the efreeti with Mage Armor again, as usual, then casts Bull's Strength on him.
He turns to Berosius, "Sir, do you have the ability to cast Dispel Magic or Silence into my servant's blade? It can store spells for use upon the next enemy we face. Of course, i realize power comes at a cost and is not always available."
Mareq bows, acknowledging that he is asking a large favor of Berosius.
Summoners are really short on spell slots, so I'm leery of using a slot myself. But if you have something useful you could cast into his spell storing sword, and don't feel you'd miss the slot, that would be cool. No worries if you can't.

![]() |

"If you are going to do that, I guess I might as well shield myself." Avril says and casts the spell.
AC 23

![]() |

Presumably, Mareq's request comes before meeting the eerily complacent archaeologists.
"Sure!" chirps Berosius, always eager to help. "You have a sword that drinks spells? That's really amazing! Well, what you think of as my 'spells' are really just the favors of the Blessed Everbloom, Lady of Revolutions. But maybe she'll bless your sword if I ask her."
Berosius casts dispel magic into Mareq's sword.

![]() |

"What? Oh! Hello. You look like Pathfinders. Isn't this magnificent? These are the ruins of Starwatcher Tor! This is a great archaeological find! Come help us dig and catalog everything." the woman matching Juliet's description says.
The other archaeologists greet the party in a happy, friendly manner. Then all get back to their work.

On a whim, Harrow uses the ability Ragathiel has given him to detect evil on the group of archaeologists.

Hey GM E: Is it too late for Berosius to switch his wandering spirit? He can do it once per day. I've got more healing going on than we need. I'd like to switch to Lore.
EDIT: Never mind. I have to choose the bonded spirit when I refresh my spells. Too bad. In the future, I think Berosius will take a more active role in battle, using buff spells gained from the Arcane Enlightenment ability. He'd lose the Life Link, but still have his awesome Beacon of Hope channels.

"Drinks spells? thinks Mareq suspiciously. How does he know about the bound elemental?
"Excellent, my friend," says the dissembling ifrit with a smile. "Husarq, bring your blade here."
Husarq holds out al-Saif and speaks in Ignan, "حريق". At his command, al-Saif blossoms into dark, blood red flame, almost viscous in its demeanor.
As Berosius asks for a blessing from the goddess Milani, the blade's flame surges hungrily, its flickering tips reaching towards the halfling. The flames turn black for a moment, so briefly that an observer call it a trick of the light.
Husarq watches... and smiles a deadly, pleasurable smile. "Ahhh, yessss."
Watching Husarq, Mareq wonders, Perhaps it is not a good idea to give Husarq the power to cast off the chains of sorcery.

![]() |

Sweet! I've lost Life Link, but picked up Identify, fireball, haste, locate object, spectral hand and tongues.
Berosius draws his wand of magic missiles, and goes to speak with Juliet. "What happened here? They're very worried about you back at Azlanti Ridge. Enough that they sent for us."
