Harrow Tatterhood
|
"Harrow agree about...umm...interesting stuff," Harrow says. "Try other place now. What about other side?"
Sorry, trying to catch up, it looks like we are all in the eastern passage and tried the northeastern room. Should we try the western hallway, then?
Uthred Wartooth
|
"If there is nothing let of value or interest in this part then let us go to the other hallway." Uthred says and moves back to the left hallway stopping just short of the crack in the wall.
| Husarq |
Talking by the crack in the wall, Husarq says, "What's this then, Master?" And looks in it.
Harrow Tatterhood
|
Harrow, who had been about to look in, waits to see what Husarq sees.
"You guys getting along better, Harrow can see. Maybe even be friends some day," the half-orc says as he watches Husarq.
or not ;p
GM Engleaktig
|
No mechanical effect or debuff on Husarq here. But, if you'll forgive the liberty with the eidolon, I think it'll help give context to what he sees.
____________________________________________________________
Through the crack, Husarq can only see parts of a creature. It is impossible to see the whole thing at one time. It is a towering, three-tailed, six-eyed beast that seems like three rune-backed serpents partially melded together into one body. It is massive, and the essence of the creature pains Husarq's psyche.
This creature is old and powerful. Somehow, Husarq can sense the malevolence coming off of it, and he is stunned. (The plain, old, english meaning of stunned--not the Pathfinder condition.)
It turns its single, massive head at the crack. When it locks eyes on the eidolon, Husarq gasps in pain, falls to one knee, and strains under the enormity of the creature's presence.
____________________________________________________________
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The golem continues pounding at the door.
____________________________________________________________
1d20 ⇒ 16
Husarq can feel the six-eyed creature begin to probe his mind. He falls completely to the floor to break his gaze and rolls off to one side of the crack, gasping for breath.

Hm... I suppose I should ask for a Knowledge(Engineering) check to see about the wall's structural integrity.
I also failed to describe to you the room in which the golem is banging on the door.
The walls of this large, vaulted room are carved with stylized astronomical symbols. The south wall contains a pair of immense doors made of stone. Smaller doors on the east wall have been battered inward. The north wall contains four large panels, each eight feet above the ground with a central gap about seven inches wide and an inch deep. Above the four panels are blocky letters, and below them, mosaics featuring sway-backed cyclopes. The chamber's floor displays a stylized depiction of Golarion and its moon traveling around the sun.
GM Engleaktig
|
To keep things moving along, here's a description of the room opposite the crack in the wall.
The walls here feature mosaics of a stylized cyclops wearing an ornate one-eyed mask and commanding other cyclopes. In the carving, the cyclops places the mask upon other cyclopes to reverse several aliments, including blindness and even death. A large slab in the northwestern corner holds only dust, but a smaller shelf above it bears a one-eyed mask.
Mareq Bolthune
|
Also you can go back to the archaeologists to ask about things you've found.
"While I don't think it necessary, since I'VE already checked out these items and found them to be mundane, perhaps the archaeologists would be interested in them?" says Mareq, referring to the disc, two wands, one orrery, and two onyx animal carvings.
Uthred Wartooth
|
Waiting in the western hallway Uthred tells the others "there are rooms up ahead we have not explored"
GM Engleaktig
|
The archaeologists fawn over your discoveries. Several times they drone on and on about their historical significance, and the party must repeatedly bring the discussion back on point. (I'm not going to type out their ramblings here. Suffice it to say that it's trying for the party to be patient with them--especially in light of the constant pounding in the other room.)
The onyx carvings are mundane, but valuable (100 GP each).
The first wand is a mithral wand of bull’s strength with 16 charges remaining.
The platinum orrery is mundane and worth 1,200 gp.
The second wand is a mithral wand of arcane sight with 8 charges remaining.
When you present the disc, the archeologists want to put any glowing discs through the crack in the wall instead of keeping or studying them. For "safekeeping."

This behavior strikes you as particularly odd. They don't go on and on about the discs. They simply insist that they be shoved through the crack.
Harrow Tatterhood
|
Harrow frowns at the odd behavior, and seems exasperated by all the fancy words they are saying, as well as their unhelpful manner.
"Um...okay, we go put these in the crack," Harrow lies.
"Maybe try rooms on other side," he says. "Harrow also want to be really really strong rest of exploring if someone want to use that wand on Harrow."
Try the other side then?
Mareq Bolthune
|
We should NOT put this disc through the crack, thinks Mareq to himself.
"We shall certainly do that," he lies. "But, how many others have you found? How will we know when we've put all of them through the crack?"
Harrow Tatterhood
|
I've voted for exploring the other rooms...any second?
Harrow frowns at the thought of other discs being placed in the crack, but looks eager to finish their explorations.
Before we go in the next room, could someone hit me with the wand of bull strength?
Berosius
|
Berosius's brow furrows in concentration. Who or what is influencing the archaeologists?
"Yes," he agrees. "We need to explore and figure this out."
Avril Axiel
|
"What are these disks? What's the Starwatcher guardian?" Avril asks of the archeologists before they leave.
"I can use the wand on you Harrow. Let me do that right before we go out exploring again, it has a limited duration. I agree that we should go rather than remain here though." Avril says and uses the wand not only on Harrow but also on herself, Cryxial and Uthred.
I suggest we explore along the western corridor, checking out the rooms we haven't seen there yet.
Once we get back outside the room with the mask and drawings of Cyclops Avril says: "We should probably grab that mask to see if it is worth anything. Mareq, can you check? Perhaps we can even use it to cure the archeologists? Though if protection from evil didn't work, then I don't know."
How long left, if anything, on the protection from evil? I imagine the babbling might have caused it to wear off?
Mareq Bolthune
|
"Husarq, bring me that mask!" calls Mareq, imperiously.
"And, my good Avril, may I see that wand? My thrall is pathetically weak and requires bolstering."
He wands Husarq with the wand of Bull's Strength.
Uthred Wartooth
|
"So we going in...? or what...Oh Husarq is going in... Good Luck man." Uthred says aloud and then readies his blades for the eventual conflict Husarq will most likely bring to the party. "I feel stronger"
Avril Axiel
|
"Can I please be in the front? It's pretty hard to charge through people and my attacks are much stronger if I get a bit of a runway to my target." Avril says and asks to switch with Harrow or Uthred.
Harrow Tatterhood
|
Harrow agrees to take the second line, having been absolutely clobbered by the hydra. "Be Harrow's guest."
Avril Axiel
|
"Be your guest? Is this place your place? Given the things we've encountered here I didn't think a pathfinder would own it. Then again, there were some mighty weird things, like the flying fish and the spider woman, at my keep before I moved in. Why didn't you tell us sooner?" The beautiful Avril might be raven-haired, but she sure acts blonde sometimes as she fails to comprehend the meaning behind Harrow's words. Though when he steps back she's glad to switch place with him.
Mareq Bolthune
|
"Anybody else feel the need for arcane protection? I have a wand that will drive off evil minds attempting to control you," offers Mareq, after touching Husarq with the wand.
Avril Axiel
|
"I don't want to believe that pushing disks into cracks in the wall is the solution to the universe. If that's what happens if we are not protected, then I would rather want to have protection. And Cryxial as well."
Mareq Bolthune
|

Who's opening the door: Avril or Uthred? Regardless, as soon as the door is opened, you see the room as described on the map, and you're immediately in combat.
There are three creatures in this room. One is a hooded medium humanoid who is cowering before two large creatures. Each of the large creatures looks like a large snake has two heads, one at each end of its long, coiling body. Both heads display large sets of fangs.
Knowledge Arcana to identify the large creatures.

ROUND ONE
Avril and Berosius may post.
Berosius
|
Seeing the danger that awaits, Berosius shouts "Blessed Milani, send your spirits to fill us with your blessed power!"
Cast haste on all Pathfinders.
Yay, Lore Spirit!
Avril Axiel
|
@Berosius: Is it correct that you target yourself and Mareq, but not Cryxial and Husarq? You can target a 6th target as well, but of course you can choose to not do that if you don't want to.
Avril Axiel
|
Avril is quick to react, but as she hears Berosius start to chant behind her, she delays for a second before she motions Cryxial to step forward so they can unleash what they got at the enemy. Avril draws forth her hammer and with frightening speed she bashes the creature in front of her twice. Meanwhile Cryxial is laying into the beast with what he got. Biting and tearing with his claws and the sharp ridges on his head and then biting again.
Avril delays until initiative 16, then Cryxial 5 foots N before they both full attack. Hopefully it'll be enough to take it out...

Uthred Wartooth
|
After hearing the information regarding their upcoming foes Uthred shakes his head and asks the others... "So how do we kill them?
Harrow Tatterhood
|
Uthred, since you can 5' step and full attack, taking advantage of the haste spell, I'll defer to you to take that last front-line spot. We're in a tough spot here...I almost wonder if we should have drawn them out one at a time, but regardless, you are probably better to step up and get the full attack.
Harrow focuses on the one Avril hit, trying to penetrate its mind with a spell.

Fort Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Harrow, still sporting his masterwork grill, clears his throat and lets loose a series of "Yo Mama" one-liners at the magical beast. Thankfully, due to the nature of ear-piercing scream, only his target can hear them. The one-liners are soooo corny that the amphisbaena falls over.
;-P
Mareq is up!

Did it fall unconscious or dazed? Either way that's one though beastie, 59 or 63 damage depending on if that 17 connected or not, assuming it does get DR 5 from the template.
